I am glad I used bigger sheets or paper because it would have been too thick in several places to fold neatly. I am kinda curious if you can make any larger shapes with those units. I doubt I will try because each piece does take a little bit to make. But I am impressed at how well they hold together. They allow for a little bit of sloppiness because the tabs are pockets can be repaired later on

I found this one here while looking for something else. origami.kosmulski.org/instructions/cosmos-ball-mukerji I am glad I did it sent me on an extended hunt for the instructions. I was lucky to find them in some far off corner of the internet.

This one is a variation and is made with the intended size paper 1:2. I think this is going to be one of those pieces that requires maintenance or needs to be rotated every few weeks for it not to tear it self apart. I have one or two others on this page like that.

I really should have put more thought into my paper choices with this one, it is a sonobe variation. But it is a really firm one. It requires putting the units into place before inserting any tabs into place. Because of the locking mechanism it hides irregularities wonderfully.
