Le CITY deluxe opens its summer season with its annual party Hello Summer 2012 to welcome the new magazine Le CITY deluxe SPAIN, rising from the merger of its luxury magazines MADRID deluxe and BARCELONA deluxe.
On Wednesday June 13 from 19:00pm the Boo will receive all the Le CITY deluxe guests in their Beach Club, a privileged place on the shores of the Mediterranean, which contains the essence of Barcelonas summer nights. Enjoy a magnificent sunset accompanied by the music “Ibiza Sensations” by Luis del Villar, the best cocktails, light-catering, Guest Dj ... and more surprises!
We will have the exclusive presence of the race-driver Dani Clos, the dancer Rafael Amargo, cover of the new edition of Le CITY deluxe SPAIN, and Fiona Ferrer Leoni, who will be signing her new book, the best seller "WACU Girls". Personalities of the city, representatives of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the City Council will meet in this event.
Guests were treated to an exquisite light catering by the water's edge, as they savoured the magical evening breeze. Michel Garnier delighted attendees with his creations, Don Ostra turned the spotlight on the guests by sharing its top-quality oysters and Neko put together a marvellous assortment of sushi. The allure of Godiva chocolate transformed strawberries into veritable delicacies aside premium Mövenpick ice cream, which satiated the sweetest of palates. And Think Sweet's astonishing designer cupcakes and biscuits left the congregation spellbound.
The selection of exquisite cocktails and gin & tonics mixed by Fizz Bartender lent the soiree, in which everything was designed to celebrate the arrival of this unique magazine, a chic touch. With each and every note, Peroni, the Premium "made in Italy" beer, and Vilarnau cavas and wines gave this memorable event just the right taste.
One of the focal points of this deluxe celebration was the music. Special guest DJ Luis del Villar's extraordinary "Ibiza Sensations" was backed by saxophone player Marcelo Chiuminatto. The duet dazzled guests with a sublime performance.

The unique car offered here is a special design specially created for SAAB's 50th anniversary in 1997. Built by Per Ekstrøm in Oslo in collaboration with SAAB Trollhattan and the Norwegian road authorities, it is fully road legal and drives like any sporting SAAB. The car is designed and was constructed in a professional body-shop by experienced personnel, the build consuming a total of some 3,000-4,000 working hours. This car is an amazing head-turner, attracting favourable attention at every filling station or classic car event where it far outshines any commonplace Italian supercar. The VIN/identity is from a 1987 SAAB 9000CC, making it easy to register this car as an 'Oldtimer', which is a considerable advantage in many countries.
The idea behind the design was to build a beautiful coupé with the widest body possible and the wheelbase of the classic 900 combined with the best available engine: the reliable 2.3-litre Turbo producing 220bhp. Numerous sketches and a tenth-scale clay model were made and transformed into the final design. The car is built from SAAB parts only, making it easy to maintain, and in complete accordance with SAAB factory recommendations.
As a tribute-car to SAAB through the years, it incorporates curves and details from at least four SAAB generations. A complete Saab 900 II car body was delivered by the factory from the start.
The tailgate is a modified 900 II with glass from the 900 cabriolet; roof is lowered by 7cm, the tailgate lock cylinder is replaced with an almost invisible camera connected to the Alpine stereo; the fuel cap has been moved to the middle of the design-line on the rear right hand side; and the wheel arches are from the SAAB CS 9000, widening the body by a couple of centimetres. The car is registered as four-seater (2+2).
The EX has an exceptional build quality with perfect fit; indeed, the tolerances are far better than in many modern cars. The car is said to run and drive excellently, with everything from suspension to the gearbox and engine working as it should. The engine has run for 154,000 kilometres; the car much less since completion and always proactively maintained. The EX has only had Sunday drives since 1997 and retains its original paint in close to perfect condition. A 10-hour professional coating was performed three years ago, and again this summer. For the last five years the EX has been on exhibition at Leif Gjestrum Larsen AS in Larvik, one of the remaining SAAB specialists in Norway.
All documentation available in paper format and will come with the car. This includes approval from traffic authorities, with comments on the high quality of the work; drawings, calculations and diagrams; dialogue with the SAAB factory; copies of selected magazine articles about the car; and a fresh technical inspection (EU control) issued 27.7.2023. with trophies and also a 40 minute video compilation of the build process from start to finish.
By 1999 time was running out for first generation DMUs in Scotland, with a handful of Met Camm power twin sets operating from Corkerhill depot on some Glasgow suburban services. A few photos were taken on 1st August that year, when these had only a few months to go before being replaced by Sprinters.
101692 (53253 + 53170) was repainted into a unique blue livery in 1996 and is seen at Glasgow Central on a Whifflet service. Following withdrawal from Longsight, this set was preserved at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.

This old greenhouse is often used for wedding ceremonies. I recently visited with my son and future daughter-in-law. What an interesting place this would be to decorate!

Behind the Tudor gatehouse house you will find the courtyard with its fine Elizabethan half-timbering, where a knot garden leads to lawns and fine vistas of the Warwickshire countryside.

The house stands in 25 acres of grounds containing some of the most breathtaking gardens in the country. It was Clare McLaren-Throckmorton's intention to create a garden that complements the beautiful house, and to give it the setting it deserves. She also wanted to create a wide variety of gardens: formal and informal, traditional and innovative. Created over the last 15 years, the gardens are now mature and varied and are solely managed by the Throckmorton family.

This is shot of bent Sitka Spruce tree on an a friend of mine's farm in Southwest, WA. The tree was on the edge of hill that ran down to a stream, so it grew out and up putting the curve in the trunk. Not very good for logging I suppose but made for a great photograph.
I came to love Alan's (Mountain Valley Farms) farm from the first time I spotted an old oak tree he has in the middle of his hay pasture. The oak stood out to me because it reminded me of my home in Texas. Once I got to know Alan he gave me the run of the farm from a photography standpoint. He was very generous. He even showed me an old photo album and he was quite the photographer himself. We also talked about the history of the farm and the area. I always enjoyed our time together. Later I got special rides up his hillside on his Gator to see all the old trees he used to farm. Like his trees he has gotten too mature and cannot do the hard work required to harvest them. So now he just enjoys them for their beauty and memories. I miss Alan, having now moved back to Texas. I will visit back to the area for work and he'll be on my priority list to swing by and say hello. I'll have my camera when I go, I only just scratched the surface of what I wanted to photograph on his farm.

As I got off one bus and was waiting for another bus to take me to my work at the bus stop. And this ad totally got my attention. I have heard about caning as a legal punish way to the criminal as well as it used to be used at school to punish students while they made mistakes.
I can't quite remember where or when I saw a scene on TV showed the caning action to one of the members in prison.
So I decided to take couple shots of this ad. And funny enough, while I was taking the shot, this gecko just crawling over on the ad. So without second thought. I quickly clicked my camera. So this shot was not perfect as the top was cut off a bit. It should have Don't on top of it.
Caning, as a form of legally sanctioned corporal punishment for convicted criminals, was first introduced to Singapore and Malaysia (both then part of British Malaya) during the British colonial period. It was formally codified under the Straits Settlements Penal Code Ordinance IV.
Caning remained on the statute book after Malaysia declared independence from Britain, and likewise in Singapore after it ceased to be part of Malaysia. Subsequent legislation has been passed by the Parliament of Singapore over the years to increase the minimum strokes an offender receives, and the number of crimes that may be punished with caning.
Singaporean law allows caning to be ordered for over 30 offences, including hostage-taking / kidnapping,[3] robbery, gang robbery with murder, drug abuse, vandalism, rioting, sexual abuse (molest), and unlawful possession of weapons.[4] Caning is also a mandatory punishment for certain offences such as rape, drug trafficking, drunk driving, illegal money-lending,[5] and for visiting foreigners who overstay their visa by more than 90 days.
Caning takes place at several establishments around Singapore, notably Changi Prison but also including Queenstown Remand Centre, where Michael P. Fay was caned in 1994. Canings are also administered in the Drug Rehabilitation Centres.
