the day before thanksgiving, and already macy's is decked out with a wreath to end all wreaths, and the cherry pickers are out putting the finishing touches on union square's tree.
Ate there with Ed and one of his friends for the purpose of taking lots of photos. Result = meat coma.

This photo and the following six were taken in about 3 minutes time. I would have stayed longer, but it was the coldest day of the winter here so far. The steps there would normally be full of people (and other things).

Last night Stacy and I went to the Woodstock Animal Farm Sanctuary Benefit, which really just translates to expensive drinks while listening to comedians, and we had a blast. All the proceeds went to the WAFS and in return we spent the night listening to acts by Louie CK, Gary Gulman, Will Franken, Dave Attell and one of my favorites, Janeane Garofalo. Everyone was fantastic but I have to say Dave Attell was especially crude and vulgar and since he came last, we were sent home smiling, the perfect ending to a wonderful night of laughter.
A few shots from the Mates of State CD release in-store at the Union Square Virgin Megastore. This one of the cooler things about living in New York as opposed to even that Mates' home town of San Francisco: people throw release parties with free in-stores here, not somewhere else.
A surprisingly long set from the married drum-and-organ duo, packed with a few Team Boo gems and the first track off that amazing All Day EP in addition to a slew of catchy new tracks.
As I said to Laura, I feel myself heading into a month of all-Mates, all-the-time. I'm not complaining.
