This was shot on Broadway and
W 17th St near Union Square Park. You wouldn't believe that back in the 18th century this area was nothing but farmland. It wasn't until after 1811 sidewalks and houses were added to the landscape.
I sat on a step and had sushi from Whole Foods the other day, meanwhile people watching.
I miss Philly and its food carts and amazing hole-in-the-wall sushi bar. :-\

It was just a little market back then, not the sprawling monolith it is today.
I met a couple in Union Square. The girl was taking picture of the boy. Look at her smile. She was very happy after the work was done. It must be a good shot!

Walking to the subway tonight I passed this chalk art in progress (the artist was off to the left). A large crowd had gathered to watch, and I was certainly not the only one taking photos!
I like to think I'm the only one who took this shot, though. (And given that I was the only one crouching to the ground, I think I was.)
It turned into a "I've missed you" hug instead.
