Much has been spoken about Etsy's engineering culture, and how continuous deployment and 'devops' have been embraced and developed, but how does security operate in such an environment? Secretary Landgraf said loneliness is increasing, but especially for vulnerable populations such as people with serious mental illness, seniors, and people with other disabilities.
"As humans, we need those meaningful social interactions that people who care about us or provide," Secretary Landgraf said.
A 2010 AARP study of adults found that 40% said that they had been lonely, a figure that was double the rate in the 1980s.
The conference, sponsored by DHSS' Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, also included a consumer panel, experts on statistics and trends, and recommendations for reaching out to people with serious mental illness.

This piece is called 'Understanding Geology'. It is an acrylic painting on a primed canvas (approx 70cm by 70cm). I coated the canvas in a burnt red shade before hand to give the lighter areas of the painting more depth. This piece was produced for a local building company is now displayed on island for the public to see.
