Another iconic venue in NYC is shutting down. The Highline Ballroom just announced it’s being forced to shut down after the landlord decided to not renew the lease.
After 12 years of music and memories, Highline Ballroom will close. At least, for now. The team fully plans on reopening its doors at a new location in the Chelsea/Meatpacking District.
“Unfortunately after 12 years our landlord has decided not to renew Highline Ballroom’s lease,” the venue shares in a statement. “For over a year we were led to believe that a renewal was imminent, however it is now clear that the landlord has other plans for the building.”
Over the years, Highline Ballroom has hosted leading acts including Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, The Killers, Rihanna, The Black Keys, Artic Monkeys, Lou Reed and The Roots, just to name a few.

Over a dozen teenagers were busted for allegedly dealing drugs at Goodlife Lost City at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday. It’s not uncommon for illegal activity such as this to go down at music festivals, but what’s shocking is the ages of the suspects.
Two 17-year-olds and a 13-year-old were among the 16 people arrested at the event. According to a report, the three teenagers were caught with MDMA capsules and charged with drug supply. Another 16-year-old was charged with drug possession.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has spoken out on the “horrific” incidents. She finds it disturbing that children as young as 13 were allegedly caught selling drugs.
“I can’t think of anything more horrific if the allegations are correct,” Berejiklian said in a statement. “It concerns me at any age but particularly at that age where children are so vulnerable.”
Sydney and other parts of Australia have seen a recent surge of drug-related overdoses and deaths at music festivals. While many have called for pill testing and drug education, Berejiklian hopes to find balance between strict policing at events and the freedom of citizens — something she’s finding to be a challenge.

That Sonam Kapoor’s boyfriend Anand Ahuja is inching towards becoming an integral part of Anil Kapoor’s family has been proven multiple times recently, what with the young man gracing every important occasion in the Kapoor family.
Now comes the news that Sonam and Anand are joining hands for a business venture. No, Anand is not getting into film production. He will be designing shoes and sneakers for Sonam and her sister Rhea’s label Rheson which manufactures and markets clothes for women.
Anand is a Delhi-based entrepreneur with his fingers in many pies including clothes, fashion etc. He is a very creative person and will be designing footwear for Sonam and her sister Rhea that would suit the budget of young people.
Anand’s designer sneakers would be the first of many projects he plans for Sonam Kapoor and her sister. “The idea is for Anand to get into Sonam’s business ventures in whatever way he is comfortable. The designer-sneakers are a step into the Kapoor’s business ventures. Anand will be seen to be increasingly active in Sonam’s sphere of activity, whether personal or professional,” says a source close to the family.

Sushmita Sen summoned by Chennai court in relation to luxury car import case
After a witness warrant was issued against Sushmita Sen on July 20 in relation to the luxury import car case, the court has now directed the actress to be present in the Egmore court on September 18. Furthermore, Ms. Sen has to be present at the trial court in order to provide evidence in the case as per the orders passed by Justice R. Suresh Kumar, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore.
In fact, reports have it that the trial judge will consider it as an emergency matter and will even cross examine the in the case. Furthermore, the court has also asked the police to provide security to Sen and also her belongings. The judge also added that the warrant order executed against the petitioner has been cancelled.
As for the case, it is related to the misuse of the Transfer of Residence scheme wherein a Toyota Land Cruiser was sold to Sen by Vasu Pandari Thamala who had bought it from Haren Choksey – as of now both of them are accused in the case. In fact, the DRI had seized the car in 2006 on the grounds of violation of Customs Act after which Sushmita Sen had voluntarily paid Rs. 20.31 lakhs as a differential customs duty.
On the other hand, since the customs for the car was cleared by the Chennai branch, a case was registered against the other two accused in the Tamil Nadu capital. While the court had summoned actress Sushmita Sen in July, followed by her non-appearance, the trial court issued a witness warrant against her.

Pantalla de Google Pixel 2 xl está dando problemas con los colores.
Los nuevos terminales más esperados de Google, Google Pixel 2 y Google Pixel 2 xl ya fueron lanzados y al parecer no todo es color de rosa. Segun varios usuarios del terminal han reportado que la pantalla de Google Pixel 2 tiene problema en los colores y el brillo.
¿Qué provocará éste problema en la pantalla de Google Pixel 2 xl?.
Lo que no se sabe bien si es un error de pantalla ó si es un problema de hardware este da un error en la poca luz que emite la pantalla o sea que la pantalla no brilla se queda sin brillo, la verdad es un tanto raro aún no se sabe si es un problema de algunos móviles en específico ó algo general, aunque esperemos que no lo sea.

¿Qué podríamos hacer con éste asunto de la pantalla de Google Pixel 2 xl?.
Aveces también sucede el caso que son problemas de calibración de la pantalla y con una simple actualización se puede resolver éste dilema, como fue el caso del Samsung Galaxy S 8 y Galaxy S 8+. De ser éste el caso los usuarios del nuevo terminal de Google no tiene porque preocuparse ya que ellos lanzan actualizaciones lo más antes posible para resolver cualquier fallo, si de software se refiere y si no lo es y el problema persiste lo recomendable es ir a la tienda o sucursal de la compañía si esta en la posibilidad claro está.
De ésta forma se le pudiera devolver el dinero ó remplazo por otro equipo sin problemas, éstas son opiniones logicas y especulaciones de lo que podríamos hacer si somos los afectados en éste caso, no tienen ninguna garantia por parte de la compañía pero como todo se resuelve hablando no cuesta investigar.

Pero como nunca faltan los rumones se anda diciendo por ahí que el causante de éste problema son los paneles que han puesto en la pantalla, paneles LG los que utilizan los Google pixel 2.

Art from the 1960’s or 70’s up until this very minute is Contemporary Art. Contemporary art – collectively – is much more socially conscious than any previous era has been. A whole lot of art from the last 30 years has been connected with one issue or another: feminism, multiculturalism, globalization, bio-engineering and AIDS awareness all come readily to mind as subject matter.
Contemporary art was originally a blend of styles before it became recognizable on its own. The work of contemporary artists is a dynamic combination of materials, methods, concepts, and subjects that challenges traditional boundaries and defies easy definition. Contemporary design did borrow a few elements from Modernism and Postmodernism, but it also gathered ideas from many other styles such as Art Deco, De-constructivism, Futurism and more. Contemporary art has much variation in its interiors, it loves curves. Contemporary styles tend to favor simple, uncluttered spaces with smooth, clean lines and artistic flair.
