Indian Art in Modern Era
During the colonial era, Art from the Impressionists (say, around 1880) up until the 1960’s or 70’sWestern influences began influencing Indian art. Some painting styles employed Western composition ideas, with viewpoint and practicality to epitomize Indian themes. Some artists such as Jamini Roy deliberately drew motivation from folk art.
Contemporary Indian Art
Art from the 1960’s or 70’s up until this very minute is Contemporary Art. Contemporary art – collectively – is much more socially conscious than any previous era has been. A whole lot of art from the last 30 years has been connected with one issue or another: feminism, multiculturalism, globalization, bio-engineering and AIDS awareness all come readily to mind as subject matter.
Contemporary art was originally a blend of styles before it became recognizable on its own. The work of contemporary artists is a dynamic combination of materials, methods, concepts, and subjects that challenges traditional boundaries and defies easy definition. Contemporary design did borrow a few elements from Modernism and Postmodernism, but it also gathered ideas from many other styles such as Art Deco, De-constructivism, Futurism and more. Contemporary art has much variation in its interiors, it loves curves. Contemporary styles tend to favor simple, uncluttered spaces with smooth, clean lines and artistic flair.

Skrillex collaborated with Hikaru Utada for “Face My Fears,” the official theme from Kingdom Hearts III. Utada famously sang the “Simple and Clean” and “Passion” themes for the first two KH games, but this marks the first collab for the series’ music themes.
Lil Wayne adds to the fray on the LSD track “Genius.” Wayne joins the original track with Diplo, Sia and Labrinth, adding his patented raps to the original track.
ZHU collaborates with Sofi Tukker on “Mi Rumba,” a surprising but welcome pairing. Both artists are working on new music, so it’s exciting to hear them come together before releasing more solo material.

It looks like the Central Board of Film Certification(CBFC) is finally on a mending spree. The slick-looking new Ajay Devgn starrer Badshaho hasjust come out completely unscathed with a ‘UA’ certificate.
In spite of many action scenes and a prolonged love-making sequencenot a single frame or dialogue was touched from the 2 hour 16 minute film.Apparently the board members felt the film’s action and tender scenes were done inthe spirit of “great fun”.

Sometimes people think that drag racers fall out of the sky. People with piles of money that just magically appear with a car to compete in. Those people are morons. Everyone who has ever done a damn thing in this sport has gotten their spot with blood, sweat, and tears. This video, which serves to highlight an IHRA Factory Modified showdown in Dallas, really lays out the class perfectly. For lack of a better term this was a no-holds barred version of pro stock with tiny small block engines. As you will see in this video, there was loads of talent populating this class and some of that talent is still racing today. Current pro mod racer Rick Hord is profiled and Tim Freeman of the KB Racing pro stock team is showed as a talented teenager.
The IHRA’s Bret Kepner and drag racing legend Jon Lundberg bring the action from this awesome event and the sound in itself is a show. The cars leave the starting line at more than 10,000 RPM and the majority of them did it off of a clutch pedal and yanked their own gears heading down course.
This is a killer video featuring cars with single four barrel small blocks that were turning low 8s in the 1980s. We’d go into the controversy that this class caused the NHRA but it ain’t really worth it because when Billy Meyer sold the IHRA it was not long for the world in the state we see it here. This is a fantastic video.

Having spent the last three days going through the regulations and trying to source the required PPE equipment, it has become apparent that we are a long way off from opening as normal. The furlough regulations also complicate our partial opening.
This is the current situation:
• We will open on Monday the 8th June and Tuesday the 9th June to treat emergencies only. The type of treatment that we can deliver is highly restricted, so it may only be temporary (holding) treatment.
• Both days will be reduced hours from 9am until 4pm (not our normal opening hours).
• We will contact all of the patients who have called with problems during the lockdown to arrange an appointment. There will be pre-screening questions and a strict protocol for patients entering the practice.
• Patients will not be seen without an appointment. Please do not turn up at the practice – you will not be seen.
• If you have had a dental problem but not called to speak with Jeremy, or if you have had telephone advice but not been contacted by Monday 8th June, please call or email the practice.
• All routine dental appointments that had been arranged for this year (2020) have been cancelled. Please remove any future appointment dates from your diary.
• Patients who are given emergency appointments will have to follow a strict protocol. Final details are being decided at the moment but please expect:
o You will not be allowed to wait in the practice. We advise you to arrive a little early but please wait in your car or outside the practice. Please ring the bell at the designated time of your appointment and we should be able to take you straight through to the surgery.
o To avoid contact within the practice, appointment scheduling is critical. If you arrive late, we regret that we may not be able to see you.
o Do not bring anyone with you into the building. No one will be allowed to wait inside.
o Do not bring any bags or coats/jackets into the practice.
o WC facilities will be closed for access, so please make sure you use home facilities before leaving.
• From Wednesday 10th June the practice will go back into lockdown mode with telephone advice only. This will remain until further notice.
This is disappointing news, but at least we will be able to sort out emergency care for our patients.

The theme and its presenter could not have been a better match, as this year’s EDCLV theme has been revealed to be kineticENERGY. It’s all about capturing potential energy from fans and dancing and unleashing it with unspeakable force.

He doesn’t allow me even a word to speak – Amole Gupte on his Sniff boy Khushmeet GillSniff !!! has released and marks the debut of child actor Khushmeet Gill in Bollywood. As the central protagonist in the film, Khushmeet has come across as a confident performer. For that, credit must also go to writer-director Amole Gupte who made sure that not just Khushmeet but also other boys around him went through a series of workshops before they faced the camera.
“See, just one boy doesn’t make the whole film. Hence I had to conduct workshops with other children as well. Also, what we did was to shoot in the society where I had actually grown up. To make that happen, I put a proposal to my society. It was a fabulous experience since around 500 people participated in the film and they played themselves. Whether it is children or senior citizens, everyone that you see in the film is a real person and not quite an actor. It was so peaceful and fulfilling, it was an experience of a lifetime,” says Amole in a jubilant tone.
As for Khushmeet Gill, Amole is glad to have made the right choice. “He was just seven and a half year old boy when we shot the film and what a confident performer he turned out to be,” says Amole, “Moreover, he is such a feisty boy who just loves to talk. He doesn’t allow me even a word to speak. He is so talkative that his voice has a continuous ring in my ear.”
Meanwhile, he made sure that yet again it was guerilla shooting technique (as was the case in Stanley Ka Dabba) applied for Sniff !!!. “See, a classroom is basically owned by kids, it is their space and hence we should let them be comfortable there,” he says, “The way they are so confident and natural in the class, it is a valuable space to be in. All you need to do is be patient enough to capture the right moment. Once you do that, there are a lot of candid moments that you can capture.”
As for his core ‘mantra’ when it comes to making a film, Amole Gupte declares, “I have promised myself that the most important aspect of the human anatomy, heart, will always find a place in my films. I will never abandon it.”
