Sadly, Porter Robinson did not receive a GRAMMY for his side project Virtual Self, which was nominated for Best Dance Recording for “Ghost Voices.” That award went to Diplo & Mark Ronson’s project Silk City, for their track “Electricity” with Dua Lipa.
Still, Porter says that to even be nominated for his side project, which was more about him expressing a different side of himself, was a blessing. He walked the red carpet and spoke to the hosts about the project.
“This project was me clawing my way out of this creative struggle I was having under my own project and wanting to do something that really subverted expectations and surprised and scared some people,” he said. “For this to get the Grammy nom, it was so far from what I expected.”
They also asked him, as one would wanting to know more about a subject they’re unfamiliar with, about what makes the “perfect dance recording.”
“Everyone will have a different answer for this, but a great hook is really critical. It’s all about structure in dance music. It’s all about the moment something is revealed. Tension and release is the name of the game. Also the drums have to sit right, dance music is drums — that’s the essence of it.”
Porter also talks about the 4-hour set he performed at 1720 in Los Angeles this past Friday, between two headlining sets at the Shrine Auditorium. Check it all out below.

This pattern was a big hit last summer when it was released and many bloggers have written about it. It’s a very easy pattern and suitable for beginners but could be a spectacular evening gown if made with formal fabric.
I made a wearable muslin in case I decide to make a more formal version. I used an Indonesian cotton batik which I purchased in Arab Street, Singapore. I only had 3 metres and it was only 114cm wide so I had to make the skirt less full. I also omitted the seam at the front and cut it on the fold. I couldn’t pattern match but the design is quite random anyway. I also used an invisible zipper which I usually do. I did my usual petite adjustment at the waist but next time I will make the bodice slightly longer. I did sew up the front about 3 inches as it was too low cut for me especially as I will be wearing it in Asia.
I will be wearing this dress for resort vacations.

EXCLUSIVE: Prasoon Joshi conducts first meeting of the newly instituted CBFC Board
Everybody knows that whatever lyricist, screenwriter, poet and marketer Prasoon Joshi does, he does it with sincerity and excellence. His body of work is impressive. Joshi, who is also the CEO of McCann World group India and Chairman (Asia Pacific), was recent appointed as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification on August 11 this year. Joshi has been regularly attending CBFC office meetings and it’s heard that he has already impressed people with his level-headed approach to work. The CBFC Board had its first meeting yesterday. Here are some details:
The first meeting of the newly constituted CBFC Board, was held by Chairman Prasoon Joshi on September 11 and attended by the eminent Board members which included Gautami Tadimalla, Jeevitha Rajashekar, Mihir Bhuta, Naresh Chandra Lal, Neil Scott Nongkynrih, Ramesh Patnage, TS Nagabharna, Vani Tripathi Tikoo and Vidya Balan. Vivek Agnihotri and Waman Kendre were also present along with the CEO Anurag Shrivastava.
Talking about the meeting, Prasoon Joshi says, “It was important to have this meeting as early as possible for the Board members to know each other and exchange valuable ideas. The Board comprises of accomplished people and it was enriching to have meaningful discussions around the functioning of the body. The way forward will draw from the collective wisdom and experience of this group. We got a lot of valuable insights from these interactions and I am thankful to all the Board members for being focused with an intricate approach. The purpose is clearly to make things better for all stakeholders where there is mutual respect and collaboration. It was felt that the constant fine-tuning of our sensibilities towards changing world of cinema is desirable and also that the processes should be further streamlined for the benefit of the industry practitioners.”
New Board Member Vidya Balan adds, “Our first meeting was a great first step in the right direction – towards understanding our role as the board and determining our approach. It was reassuring to know we are all on the same page.”
Continuing Board Member Vani Tripathi Tikoo says, “It’s a huge way forward. The fact that we sat for several hours and thrashed out most of the issues we have been faced with is a big step. The spirit of understanding and sensitivity to art is the take away from this progressive meet.”
The CBFC also decided that soon they would have an industry interaction to share the refinement of the processes and take industry inputs to make the Certification process as smooth as possible. Prasoon Joshi also thanked the entire staff, all the ROs and the CEO Anurag Shrivastava at CBFC for their tireless work.

How does photography serve to legitimate and normalise existing power relationships? How does it serve as the voice of authority, while simultaneously claiming to constitute a token of exchange between equal partners? What havens and temporary escapes from the realm of necessity are provided by photographic means? What resistances are encouraged and strengthened? How is historical and social memory preserved, transformed, restricted and obliterated by photographs? What futures are promised; what futures are forgotten? In the broadest sent, these questions concern the ways in which photography constructs an imaginary economy.

The end of 2018 saw Samsung doubling down on the foldable phone concept, and now it’s officially been announced: the Galaxy Fold. While it’s a rather unimaginative name, the hardware is anything but — and you’ll pay the price for it, too.
The Galaxy Fold comes out April 26th (May 3rd for Europe) and will cost a wild $1,980.
It will be interesting to see what kind of utility users will be able to get out of a foldable phone, as, for most everyday tasks, a standard smartphone configuration is perfectly adequate. However, the Fold does have its good qualities.
For instance, when fully unfolded, it will actually be slimmer at 6.9mm than the Galaxy S10 and S10+ also announced today (both 7.8mm). When completely folded, it will measure at a comparably more thick 17mm.
Engadget reports, “As announced at the earlier developer conference, Samsung has been working closely with Google to make sure users get the most out of this new mobile form factor. With App Continuity, the Galaxy Fold lets you switch between both screens while staying in the same app, as shown on stage using Google Maps and Netflix. Similarly, when an app notification pops up on the front display, simply unfold to launch the app on the larger screen — though you may have to unlock the device first using the fingerprint reader on the frame.”
The price point will undoubtedly be a deterrent to most casual phone users. For those with money to spare, though, this will definitely be a cool new toy.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 9 hours (slow cooker)
3 hours (stovetop)
1 whole garlic bulb
1 x 6 cm (2½ in) piece ginger
2 white onions
2 cinnamon sticks
4 star anise
4 black cardamom pods
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
500 g (1 lb 2 oz) beef brisket
500 g (1 lb 2 oz) beef shin, cut into small pieces – ask the butcher to do this
60 g (2¼ oz) yellow rock sugar or brown sugar
125 ml (4 fl oz/½ cup) fish sauce
300 g (10½ oz) beef sirloin, very thinly sliced
rice noodles, herbs, bean sprouts, lime wedges and red chilli, to serve
In the slow cooker
Roast the garlic, ginger and onions (all left unpeeled) over an open flame for 10 minutes until completely blackened.
Alternatively, cook under a hot grill (broiler) for about 15 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and, when they are cool enough to handle, peel and roughly chop.
Heat a small frying pan over medium heat and toast the cinnamon, star anise, cardamom pods, fennel seeds and peppercorns until fragrant.
Transfer to a small piece of muslin and tie with string to make a pouch.
Put the beef brisket and shin, sugar, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, onions, spice pouch, 1 tablespoon of salt and 2 litres (70 fl oz/8 cups) of water into the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 9 hours until the meat is tender. Remove the beef brisket and shin and when it is cool enough to handle, thinly slice the brisket and shred the shin.
Strain the soup through a large fine sieve lined with muslin. Place the sirloin in warmed bowls, then pour over the hot stock.
Serve with noodles, herbs, bean sprouts, lime wedges and chilli.

All’s well between Alia Bhatt & Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez link-up is a publicity stunt
For all those who are worried about Alia Bhatt’s love life, here is some welcome respite from the tension. Alia is doing very well in her relationship with Mr Malhotra, whatever its status might be.
The Jacqueline-Sidharth link-ups are no more than frantic efforts to boost the potential ticket sales of the new thriller called A Gentleman. Informs a source, “Sidharth Malhotra’s last film Baar Baar Dekho was a disaster. He doesn’t want to take any chances. He desperately needs a hit. He’s leaving no stone unturned to ensure A Gentleman is a success.”
Ironically Alia’s gone on to give hits with Malhotra’s closest rival Varun Dhawan. Malhotra is yet to form a dependable couple with any heroine. Sources from A Gentleman team say the actor is hoping he has finally met his match in Jacqueline Fernandez.
On screen, that is.
Sniggers a young actress close to Karan Johar’s camp, “Both Varun and Siddharth started off as Karan Johar’s blue-eyed boy. But Varun raced ahead. You think that doesn’t bother Sidharth? Of course it does! Sidharth is looking for a hit. And kissing Jacqueline until her lips go blue is part of the strategy.”
Apparently stories of their lengthy kiss are being planted everywhere in the media. “The truth is about 70 percent of the kissing scene has been censored. But the film’s team is denying it. They want prospective audiences to storm in at any cost.”

Priyanka Chopra releases an apology letter after receiving flak for terming Sikkim ‘troubled with insurgency’
Priyanka Chopra recently screened her Sikkimese film Pahuna: The Little Visitors at Toronto International Film Festival 2017. The film received a great response from the audience and Priyanka Chopra continued to promote her film. But, the actress came under fire for her comments about Sikkim as she termed the state troubled with insurgency and troubling situations.
In an interview with ET Canada at the Toronto International Film Festival, Priyanka Chopra said, “This is a Sikkimese film. Sikkim is a small state in the Northeastern India which never had a film industry or anyone who made films from there. And this is the first film ever that’s come out of that region because it’s very troubled with insurgency and troubling situations.”
The moment the interview came out, people slammed Priyanka Chopra for misrepresenting the state on an international platform. However, after receiving a lot of backlash, Priyanka Chopra has apologized to the Minister of Tourism in Sikkim, Ugen T. Gyatso. The minister recently claimed on a news channel that Priyanka Chopra, the director Paakhi A. Tyrewala and the producer of Pahuna have apologized in writing as well as verbally to him. The minister also clarified that Dev Anand’s Jewel Thief was one of the earliest films from Sikkim.
In the letter issued to the ministry that has gone viral on social media, Priyanka Chopra explains about her comments being misunderstood and apologizes for the same. This is what her letter to the tourism ministry reads:
“I’m sorry I have to write to you under these circumstances.. but I needed to clarify my stance in regards to the situation which has arisen due to a comment of mine during an interview for my film Pahuna, which was misunderstood.
As you are aware, I hold the Government and the people of Sikkim in high regard and have in addition to Pahuna been looking to tell more great stories from Sikkim.
From the moment I heard the script of Pahuna, I knew I wanted to share this story with the world. It is important to me because no one else was willing to take a chance on a film like this, that deals with the refugee crises which is an issue that is being dealt with across the world as it is being in Sikkim.. Pahuna is a film that brings a message of hope and positivity.
My comment, made during an interview at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival 2017, where Pahuna made its worldwide debut, was misconstrued. I was talking about the Sikkimese film industry and also the subject of the film, where I mentioned how Sikkim was grappling with the refugee situation caused by insurgencies.. I had meant by the ‘neighbouring countries’ .. I am fully aware that Sikkim is an incredible host nation (sic) to so many refugees and our film shows exactly that through the children’s point of view…
I understand that the statement I made in the interview was open to interpretation. I should have been clearer with my intention. We’ve made a beautiful film that would not have been possible without the support of the government and people of Sikkim. In no way did I intend to offend or hurt anyone’s sentiments and for that I apologise.
I appreciate all the support you have shown me and my team and I wanted to clear the misunderstanding with you directly.”
Pahuna: The Little Visitors is directed by Paakhi A. Tyrewala and was launched as an association between Priyanka Chopra and her mother Madhu Chopra’s production banner Purple Pebble Pictures and Ministry of Tourism Sikkim.

SNAPSHOT: Furla Metropolis Papillon Mini Bag
Under $450!
Tiny, but holds more than you might think
Interior slit pocket for cards and cash
Chain is not adjustable
Leather is delicate, shows wear easily
I’ve learned a lot about the buying habits of bag lovers since I started working here at PurseBlog. You guys are never too shy to share your thoughts with us, and whenever I’m in a bag-buying dilemma, you’re the ones I want to get advice from! One of the things that’s come up time after time is how important it is to invest in classic pieces that will stand the test of time. Even though I know that this is a smart piece of advice, I still find myself falling for of-the-moment bags. Trendy, funky and fun bags are the kind of bags you fall hard and fast for, without really thinking about all of the money you’re going to spend on them, and that’s why I’m loving the Furla Metropolis Papillon Mini Bag. Colorful butterfly appliqués make this adorable crossbody bag stand out, and at under $450, this is a trendy bag that won’t break the bank.
The overall structured shape of this petite bag is quaint and charming, and it really reminds me of another bag I recently wrote about. This bag would be amazing in a solid color as well, but the butterfly appliqué on this stunning blue version is super pretty and unique. I adore how this bag looks with jeans and a white tee, but I can also see it being dressed up and carried to any number of summer events. I would pair this with dreamy white eyelet dresses for a really cute summer look. Made of smooth leather that holds the colorful hues really nicely, this funky, fun bag is the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe.
Speaking of smooth, soft leather, though this bag does have a really nice hand to it, this is the type of leather that will show wear rather easily. The bag we received had a few minor scratches on it already, but the corners and the bottom of the bag showed no wear at all. This bag is crafted of cowhide leather and is made in Italy, and overall I’d give the quality a 4 out of 5, taking into consideration the price of this bag as well—you’re getting a really nice bag for what you’re paying. A pushlock clasp atop gold-toned hardware keeps this mini bag securely closed, though it’s very easy to get in and out of. Though the chain strap is not adjustable, it is apparently removable, which, truth be told, I did not even realize when I had this bag in hand! Only upon searching which retailers carried this style did I learn the strap could be taken off. In all honesty, though, I don’t quite see the point of removing the strap as this bag doesn’t seem thin enough to comfortably carry as a clutch.
Inside, this bag has one interior slit pocket and is lined in fabric. Though this bag is very petite, and with overall dimensions of 6.5″ L x 5″ H x 3″ D, I was actually able to fit more than I thought. Inside, I carried my iPhone 7, my new favorite sunglasses—Karen Walker’s Helter Skelter Round Frame Sunnies—in a microfiber pouch, my keys (+ bulky keychain!), a lipstick, a tube of lip balm, a mini powder palette, and a protein bar plus my debit card, ID and cash in the interior pocket. If I were carrying this bag out at night, I would nix the sunglasses and be able to carry a bit more. You can grab this adorable mini bag just in time for the last month of summer via Shopbop for $448.

It’s here! The 2018 Build-Outs of Summer is finally here. And it only seems fitting to start out our sixth season much in the same way that each of the cafes we will be featuring over the coming months begin their journey: with a blueprint. Blueprint Coffee, that is.
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Blueprint is a well-known brand in the specialty coffee world, and we are pleased as punch to start this year’s series of Builds with their second location, opening in no time flat just off the famed Route 66; they are setting a high bar for all who follow. So let’s get this summer started right and check in with Blueprint Coffee, shall we?
As told to Sprudge by Mike Marquard.
For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?
Blueprint Coffee opened in September of 2013. It is a collective ownership group of six passionate friends, most of who worked together in the St. Louis coffee and restaurant space from 2006-2013. Our first location on St. Louis’ famous Delmar Loop houses both our roasting operation and first coffee bar. Out of this space we have grown both in local reputation and customer-base as well as established ourselves as a national wholesale roaster.
Can you tell us a bit about the new space?
The new location sits just a half block off of one of the Route 66 routes through St. Louis. It was this heavy traffic that established many of the storied St. Louis businesses that will be our neighbors, such as Ted Drewes Frozen Custard (it really is good, boys and girls) and Donut Drive-In. The building has served as an auto-repair shop for the last 70+ years, but with some love and vision will become a very interactive coffee space. We have preserved four of the original five garage openings and will keep those doors open when weather permits so that our space stretches outside. Our original location on Delmar is extremely limited when it comes to outdoor seating, so this new potential on Watson is very exciting for us.
What’s your approach to coffee?
We buy coffee seasonally and, as often as possible, from the same partners at origin year after year. In the last five years, we’ve established some amazing relationships and gotten to work at origin on both actively aerated compost tea and processing projects. We typically offer three single origin coffees, a filter blend called Tektōn, an espresso blend called Penrose, and a single origin decaf coffee. The single origin and blend ratios last two to four months before being rotated. Even within our blends, we’re focused on mutual beneficial partnerships at origin and sourcing seasonal coffees.
Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?
For sure! We’re quite excited about our Marco SP9 single-cup brewer. We’re hoping it allows us to continue to offer a wide variety of black coffees every day like we’ve done at Delmar with our hand brew menu, but we feel it will only increase the consistency of these brews. We’ve also got a six tap system set up and plan to offer a wide-variety of cold beverages—from cold brew to nitro to our fruit shrubs… maybe even some sparkling and still iced teas. We feel like this will be a nice compliment to our menu in the hot summer months of St. Louis. Also the NA craft beverage industry is an market we feel like can only improve. Sugary soda’s and juice seem to dominate that market, but we’ve start tinkering with tea and coffee derivatives that are quite delightful and complex.
What’s your hopeful target opening date/month?
June 2018
Are you working with craftspeople, architects, and/or creatives that you’d like to mention?
Yes, we started with the direction of Allison Mendez and Jonathan Stitelman, two Blueprint Coffee regulars that teach in the architecture and urban planning realm. We then took some of their vision for the space to Mademan Designs (Nick Adams) and the Lloyd Brothers (Joe and Phil), who created many of our tables and fixtures at Delmar to bring some continuity to the Blueprint Coffee atmosphere.
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Blueprint Coffee is located at 4206 Watson Rd, St. Louis. Visit their official website and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The issue, Possibility of Perfect Research, brings up some significant issues on a research yield or research process. What is research? What is the total premise of research? Why research is started? How research is directed? How research is assessed? What is flawlessness? Is flawlessness during research process reasonable? What is viable research the executives? What is research paper? We will try to address the previously mentioned inquiries.
Oxford Dictionary characterizes research as, a cautious investigation of a subject, particularly so as to find new actualities or data about it. A research is either synopsis of data or assessment of some effectively found data. Truly, research includes “looking once more” the subject what others have composed on it. A research is mix of data, assessment, and development. Initially, it gives data on a specific subject or matter, also, assesses the previous research or audits significant writing, lastly, the new work includes some creative angles, both pragmatic just as applied.
Man is mix of three essential substances, i.e., body, brain, and soul. Human exercises are molded by physical needs, mental impulses, and soul desires. At physical level, a significant physical need is recreation or unwinding. At mental level, a significant mental impulse is interest. Once more, at otherworldly level, a significant soul desire is flawlessness. The different reasons of research are physical interest for more recreation, scholarly push because of instinctual interest, stickler yearning of soul because of imbued inclination of soul towards flawlessness. The very establishment of human life systems is subsequently extreme premise of research, with the goal that research will proceed until the end of time. There isn’t probability of ideal research in any order.
Life has two levels, individual and group. Aggregate life is authoritative plan of pioneers and devotees. Establishments are inescapable part of aggregate life. A foundation works under the stewardship of pioneers. Pioneers start different projects to keep up their power over adherents or to keep up going great of organizations. A devotee may alter her perspective towards initiative by virtue of static, poor, and degenerate administration. The answer for formal or non-performing institutional arrangement is presentation of developments, both reasonable just as pragmatic. Thus, developments are acquainted from time with time. The very establishment of development is inception of new and new research. So as to keep up the texture of aggregate life, pioneers (social or monetary or political) starts research now and again. At scholarly level, the led research is inclined towards flawlessness however for all intents and purposes it accomplishes just a reasonable yield because of different requirements, monetary and non-money related, forced by pioneers.
A research is led by savvy people. Intelligent people/Scientists are imaginative gathering of a general public. They get thoughts from numerous life occasions, every so often. The gathering of thought is exceptional psycho-social quality of educated people/researchers. A thought resembles a seed of a plant. They think-reevaluate on it and survey the practicality of thought. Finally, they are sure towards profitability of their thought. They independent/mastermind assets for thought acknowledgment. Sharing of thought with business visionary (social or monetary or political) is a significant advance for asset course of action. A thought acknowledgment movement is self-flawlessness of scholarly/researcher. It is significant that proactive methodology of a business person or society towards new thoughts is essential for the emergence of scholarly innovativeness.

“I play a Pithoo in Kedarnath” – Sushant Singh Rajput
While he is fully into playing an astronaut in Sanjay Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke, Sushant Singh Rajput has also started preliminary preparation for his next challenging role in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath where he plays a tourist escort who carries the old and the ailing on his back to the holy place.
Says Sushant, “I play a pithoo in Kedarnath.” As far as the plot of Abhishek Kapoor’s film goes, Sushant is cast as a pithoo whom a beautiful rich tourist, played by Sara Khan (Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter) falls in love with.
Sushant, for the record, won’t be faking the pithoo’s burden. He will actually be shown carrying people on his back across the tough mountainous terrain of Kedarnath.
Speaking about his preparations for every part that he plays, Sushant says, “Preparation for me is mandatory. How else I could have a chance of actually changing my spontaneity or giving myself enough reasons to believe that I am the character? There are quite a lot of things to know about, training as far as Chanda Mama Door Ke is concerned. I am training on simulators, working on the character, going through the theory of astrophysics. I visited NASA last month for training and the experience was remarkable.”
Is it essential to immerse himself in every character he plays? Says Sushant, “The idea is to convince myself that I am an astronaut or a pithoo before the start of the shoot.”
