DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 24, 2022 – Two icons that have tackled off-road terrain for years are coming together to take on even more: Bronco® and Raptor™. Built for desert running and boulder crawling, the all-new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor gives off-roaders next-level performance.
Bronco Raptor, the newest member of the Bronco outdoor brand of Built Wild™ SUVs, debuts today as the most powerful street-legal Bronco ever, and the world’s first Ultra4 Racing-inspired SUV. Ford Performance, the same team that produces the F-150 Raptor, designed and engineered Bronco Raptor as a calling to hardcore off-road enthusiasts.
Bronco Raptor is equipped with elite off-road technology and hardware. Ultra4 Racing is the epitome of grueling off-road competition, featuring demanding races such as the famed King of the Hammers in the Johnson Valley in California, where Bronco Raptor will be on display on Feb. 3. Ford and Bronco will continue as the official truck and SUV of the Ultra4 series.
With the addition of Bronco Raptor, Ford once again expands its Raptor high-performance off-road vehicle franchise, which also includes F-150 Raptor for North America and Ranger Raptor for global markets.
“Raptor is the apex of our off-road lineup and is now a full lineup with race proven content and design that you can’t get from anyone else,” said Jim Farley, chief executive officer, Ford Motor Company. “Only Ford could create a Bronco Raptor.”

This Bronco R design will also be made available as part of the 2021 Bronco Instructions service that I have active at present - DM for details.
Returning to the harsh Mexican desert that solidified the Bronco brand’s off-road racing heritage, Bronco, Ford’s outdoor brand of Built Wild™ 4x4 SUVs, will run the legendary SCORE-International Baja 1000 with the Bronco R race prototype, plus an all-new 2021 Bronco Outer Banks™ two-door preproduction support vehicle.
Baja champion Cameron Steele and Rebelle Rally winner and seasoned Baja racer Shelby Hall will pilot the Bronco R race prototype, along with a team of veteran Ford off-road racers including Johnny Campbell, Curt LeDuc and Jason Scherer, who will rotate shifts for the 53rd running of the race that begins today and ends late on Saturday.
The historic race, which serves as a platform for the Bronco Built Wild Extreme Testing regimen, underscores Ford Performance’s race-proven technology transfer as both race and production Bronco two- and four-door SUV at Baja are powered by fully stock Ford 2.7-liter EcoBoost® turbocharged V6 engines and Ford 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmissions.
With Ford as the official SUV and Truck of SCORE-International Off-Road Racing and official vehicle of the ULTRA4 King of the Hammers off-road competition, the all-new 2021 F-Series Super Duty Tremor and legendary F-150 Raptor will also be supporting the Bronco R race team.

King of the Hammers #23
Feb. 10th - Ultra 4's. A dialog on this class is with the first image of the entire series "Moon Rising over Johnson Valley". In a nut shell, must be 4-wheel drive & "Unlimited". In other words, if it's 4-wheel drive, can craw up major rocky ravines and run 100 mph+ over the desert floor, bring it on. They come in various sizes, shapes and major HP. This is one of the new "Cab Forward" designs.
