Коломи́я — центр Коломийського району Івано-Франківської області, адміністративний центр Коломийської районної ради, місто обласного підпорядкування, розміщене на річці Прут.
Розміщене у південно-східній частині області, за 65 км від Івано-Франківська. Вузол залізничних і автомобільних шляхів. Населення — 70 тисяч осіб (2006).
Коломия відома з середини ХІІІ століття як центр видобутку солі; зазнала значних руйнувань під час турецько-татарських нападів XVI—XVII століть; у 2-й половині XVII — на початку XVIII століття в околицях міста діяли загони опришків. Від середини XIX століття місто пережило підйом культурно-національного розвитку. За часів І світової війни — у зоні бойових дій. Від 1939 року — у складі УРСР; райцентр від 1940 року. Від 1991 року — у незалежній Україні; значний економічний, освітній і культурний осередок Покуття і заходу держави.
On the occasion of Passover, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of Jewish religious organizations and spoke with students of the 325 Specialized School "Shchastia".
The Head of State attended one of the lessons and thanked for the invitation on a significant holiday for Jews, which symbolizes the victory of freedom over slavery.
"How symbolic it is that we are in a Jewish school in a bomb shelter. This is our Passover eve. This is a very important signal to the whole world that every people and nation is fighting for freedom and their values, which are more important than the conditions of us being in a bomb shelter, of children having a bomb shelter. And this is not their choice, it’s what Russia did... The Jewish community supports Ukraine in the fight for freedom for the sake of all our children and the future," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting with rabbis.
The President emphasized that it was extremely important to bolster air defense to protect our people. He also thanked the representatives of Jewish organizations for helping to engage international partners, including the United States, in helping Ukraine.
The chief rabbis of the cities noted that they had not left the country since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, as it is extremely important to stay with your community during the war. They assured that they would continue to make every effort and pray for Ukraine's victory.
"The main thing is not to fear. You as a leader set a great example in this regard. The whole country looks at you and sees how confident you are, how brave you are, and this is what keeps people hopeful of victory," said Shmuel Kaminetsky, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro.
He added that the best matzah, the wheat flour bread eaten during Passover, is made in Ukraine. Rabbi Meir Stambler, Chairman of the Federation Council of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, reminded that the Torah is being prepared for publication in Ukrainian for the first time.
"We are confident that the fact that we are translating the Torah into Ukrainian brings us closer to a complete victory. One that will change the whole world. Because every action we take changes this world. A world where all the forces of evil will be destroyed both in the war against Israel and in the war against Ukraine," Meir Stambler emphasized.

Chornobyl (Чорнобиль, IPA: [tʃɔrˈnɔbɪlʲ]), or Chernobyl (Чернобыль, Russian pronunciation: [tɕɪˈrnobɨlʲ]), is a city in northern Ukraine, in Kiev Oblast (Province). It is twinned with Larne, in Ireland. [1]
The city was evacuated in 1986 due to the Chernobyl disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, located 14.5 kilometers (9 miles) north-northwest. The power plant is within Chernobyl Raion , but the city was not the residence of the power-plant workers. When the power plant was under construction, Prypiat, a city larger and closer to the power plant, had been built as home for the power-plant workers.
Though the city today is mostly uninhabited, a small number of inhabitants reside in houses marked with signs stating that the "Owner of this house lives here".
