The sunflower is the national flower of the Ukraine. How I hope the Ukraine can prevail in this terrible atrocity.
Hi friends!
You all watch the news, so I won't tell you what happened the day before yesterday, yesterday and today. Terrorist attacks by rockets. Today in my city too.
I'm fine. As far as possible. And wildly furious.
I prepared this picture a few days before the Constitution Day of Ukraine (which is today) and today such a variant has reached the rendering stage. There were several options. The concept I changed with each passing day. From flowers and hugs to a militants wrap up with our second Ukrainian flag, which symbolizes our land and our blood (maybe someday I will tell about these colors in more detail in another art picture).
When the rendering ended, my windows trembled. These were explosions. Now I look at the picture and I think that here is missing in the girl's hand a head of the russian occupier.
You can't even imagine how happy the "ordinary russians" were that they blew up the mall and killed children and civilian adults. So, if russian propaganda tells you somewhere that russians are innocent, and only putin is guilty, you know - this is a total lie.
rUSSIANS and all rUSSIA - TERRORISTS
They will burn in hell.
And this is not hate speech, this is reality. russia is a world evil that commits genocide of the Ukrainian people. russians look at the murders of Ukrainian children, rejoice and clap their hands in happiness. That's who they are.

I captured this image of a soybean field last fall in Knox County. I used the Skylum Luminar Neo software program to edit and filter the golden brown soybeans to yellow and deepen the blue of the sky. The Skylum company and team is based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Many on their team have remained in Ukraine and are working and sheltering. We have chosen to support Ukraine through Save the Children.

My heart is bleeding for Ukraine and its brave people, and for the future of my continent.
How can a people of 145 millions not stop one man who brings ruin to us all?
Lying, dishonesty and political manipulation are nothing new. In the age of digital mass communication, however, these machinations have become endemic. The war in Ukraine is also a war of mis/information and this war is going on daily across all our media. Some of us may feel helpless when it comes to separating truth from falsehood. But we are not that helpless. Whenever we are confronted with a political message, we can ask one basic question: who is talking and what question is being asked (and, usually) answered? This will help to detect the “agenda” of the message, identify its argument and understand the claim that has been made. If we wish to go deeper into the analysis, we can try to identify also the underlying assumptions of the message, check the evidence that has been quoted and see whether or not the message makes sense. We are not that helpless. We can be skeptical and make distinctions. We can reject what is false and keep what is true.
The war continues. Ukrainians bravely continue to defend their sovereign country.
The colours belie the current atrocities Ukraine is facing, but their courage and brilliance in fighting their tormenting aggressors is remarkable.
Let's hope and pray they can remain an independent, self-determining nation--and support them in every way we can.

We ate brunch in Chicago's Ukraine Village where many crowded the shops preparing for Easter and praying for a peace that protects their relatives from violence and invasion.

These sunflowers were growing in Norfolk, UK, in 2020. However, sunflowers will now always remind me of Ukraine.
Solidarity, sometimes, is too long a word, but it is always necessary, since love requires it to survive, in this meaningless world, we cannot be blind, injustices are here on earth, because we men populate it. .. Hopefully we are able to change this world, and make it a more generous and less violent place... No war, of any kind, anywhere in the world...
