A provocative recent essay in Fast Company argues that, over the past decade, CEOs of many large companies have “broken up” with design. Is that true? If so, what went wrong? In this opening roundtable, some of today’s leading commercial designers debate the value of design in an evolving marketplace.

This is my friend Leisa, taken for the first Strobist summer Boot Camp II assignment. Leisa was game to have her photo taken as she needed new headshots, and I wanted something that captured a little of her work - she's a UX designer.

Hence the diagrams in the background, which I hope don't distract too much from Leisa herself; I think I struck an OK balance, given lack of space to work with.

Strobist: SB-24 at about 1/16 power into umbrella camera left, gold reflector camera right low.

This was a cool challenge where we had to build a clean website for a hotel booking, where users can search for hotel rooms and book it online based on the availability, The client was more keen to get an easy to use website which we delivered.
