MẸ ƠI, NHÀ MÌNH ĐẦY NẮNG . . .

đây là những hình ảnh vô tình tôi bắt gặp trên đoạn đường từ chùa về, và đã làm tôi suy nghĩ và trăn trở trên suốt quãng đường ấy . . .
Một gia đình có 3 thành viên đang say giấc bên vệ đường, mặc nắng, mặc gió, mặc những tiếng ồn và cả những người qua lại, họ tạm quên tất cả để đưa mình về những giây phút yên bình nhất của bản thân.
Gương mặt đứa anh "nó" đã làm tôi lặng đi một hồi khi quyết định quay lại ghi những hình ảnh mà các bạn thấy dưới đây... nó nhẹ nhàng, ngây ngô, cứ như vậy chẳng biết cuộc đời nó sẽ đi về đâu cho nhưng năm tháng tới !
Nhìn người, nhìn ta, phút trăn trở cho bản thân và cái tình thương giữa người và người làm cho tôi không thể quên cái hình ảnh này. 2015, giữa cái xã hội đang phát triển để tiến dần lên một đất nước lớn mạnh nhưng vẫn còn tồn tại nhiều mảnh đời bất hạnh như thế này . . . Giờ đây nó có trách ai? sau này nó sẽ ra sao? vẫn biết nhưng quy luật tồn tại và không thể thay đổi nhưng tôi vẫn mong nó sẽ tốt hơn, và tất nhiên mọi thành viên trong gia đình nó nữa ...
Trong cái ngày ấy, "Trung Thu" khi mà những đứa trẻ nô nức được gia đình mua bánh, mua đồ chơi và đèn lồng đi rước trăng thì nó vẫn nằm đó, có chăng những điều đó đang hiễn hữu trong giấc mơ của nó và vẫn chỉ là ước mơ xa vời ? ? ?
"Nó" làm tôi bất giác nhớ nhà và người thân. Nếu khoảng cách vẫn trong giới hạn cho phép chắc có lẽ tôi đã phi thật nhanh về nhà và chia sẻ câu chuyện cho mọi người rồi ấy, để trân trong và yêu quý hơn về những gì tôi và các bạn đang có và được hưởng từ gia đình và bạn bè người thân . . .
tôi chẳng văn hay cũng như lối viết tốt để có thể diễn tả lại cảm xúc trọn vẹn bấy giờ của mình cả. chỉ là kể lại bằng cách nghĩ cá nhân để mọi người chúng ta nên biết và cần luôn tâm niệm rằng :"PHẢI BIẾT QUÝ TRỌNG NHỮNG GÌ MÌNH ĐANG CÓ"

Today I lunched with my mom at Old City Grille. After running a few errands we visited the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery. I've been researching the family tree for a few years now, but hadn't visited this local graveyard since my great-grandmother Bernita died in 1997.
Earnest and Bertha Wiles brought their family from north-central North Carolina to St Augustine in the 1910's. Bert and Lillie Lucas moved here from Rockford, Illinois with their daughter in the 1920's. Together the men owned a sundry shop called Lucas & Wiles. Their children, Bernita and George "Randy" married in the early 1920's, and my grandfather is the second of their three sons. I was fortunate to know Nana quite well. After her husband died in 1962 she survived colon cancer in the 1970s. Before I was born, she managed the gift shop at the Marineland oceanarium south of town. She cared for me when I was a child and helped me memorize the names of her family members pictured in old photo albums from the turn of the century. We played school and church, and we ate cottage cheese and hot dogs. She was still living at home with her Bichon Frisé, Babydoll, when she died at age 94, just a few months before I graduated from high school. She is buried here with Randy, Bert, Lillie, and Bertha. They rest alongside memorial markers for Bernita's two sons, Randy Jr. and Jimmy.
During the genealogy research segment of our Chicago vacation in February 2009, Zack and I visited Nana's childhood home on Prospect Avenue in Belvidere, Illinois. The current owner invited us inside and gave us a tour of the house. It's quite an experience to walk upon the same paths that my ancestors traversed many years ago...

"Built in 1882, this historical building was once the original Louisiana National Bank where most of the city's post-Civil War planters and merchants kept their money. Since then, it's housed an insurance company, dress shop and even served as a residence. The building's basement area was home to two of Baton Rouge's most famous and longstanding watering holes, Rip's Huddle, which opened in 1955 and The Thirsty Tiger, which operated from around 1977 to 2007."

"Formerly the Thirsty Tiger —one of Baton Rouge’s most famous watering holes —Willie’s On The River is named after the ghost that reportedly haunts the building. Willie was a stable hand who was killed in 1848, when he was crushed by a falling wall at what is now the site of the bar. Patrons and employees claim Willie never left, so we decided to name this place after him and give him a permanent home. Cheers, Willie!"

After touring the Isle of Skye all day we called our hosts at Roskhill House and asked where would be a good place to eat dinner between Borve and Dunvegan. They suggested Stein Inn, and it was a very good suggestion. . We drove along the ridge, then down to a cluster of buildings (in a straight line) by the bay. We reached there around 8 pm. The regular restaurant was for people staying at the inn or for those who had made reservations. So we ate in the bar area, seated on low seats with a low table for our food. Finally we saw lamb on the menu and all wanted the same meal -- lamb shanks. The waiter came back and said there were only two but he could give the other one a lamb chop. We said OK. Then he came out again and said there was only one shank and we said ok--lamb chops were OK. Will ended up with the shanks and he let us taste them--out of this world and tender! Turned out even though the plates looked really full, the lamb chops were riddled with fat and some gristle so I still had room for rhubarb crumble with delicious sauce. Very tasty.
When we were leaving Marjorie saw the waiter leave with a plate of lamb shanks-- the dish we had all wanted, but there wasn't enough of. He saw her looking at the plate and at least looked shame-faced as he sat at the picnic table outside.

Lufthansa's in-flight entertainment system on this flight was pretty good; it was clearly running some variant of Windows and most of the interface is a web browser (with touch screen).
But as I was futzing with it and flipping through las idiomas, I burst out laughing when I saw the main page in Spanish. UTF-8 encoded characters in a page being rendered as non-UTF-8! This is usually forgivable on random web pages on teh Interweb, but, come on, a closed, custom IFE system? An extra five minutes of QA can go a long ways, guys.
