Kampong Glam (Chinese: 甘榜格南; Pinyin: Gānbǎnggénán; Malay: Kampong Gelam; Tamil: கம்ப்பொங் கிலாம்) is a neighbourhood in Singapore. It is located north of the Singapore River, in the urban planning areas of Kallang and Rochor.
The area's name is derived from two Malay words, Kampong, meaning "village" or "settlement", and Glam (or Gelam) referring to a variety of eucalyptus (Melaleuca leucadendra) or paperbark tree, which used to grow abundantly in the area. Its naturally peeling bark was used by boat builders in the village to caulk boats, while its leaves provided cajuput oil (from Malay: minyak kayu puteh, or white wood oil) which could be used to treat muscular aches and pains, as well as respiratory problems.
The Singapore National Day Parade (Abbreviation: NDP, simplified Chinese: 国庆庆典; traditional Chinese: 國慶慶典; pinyin: guóqìng qìngdiǎn, Malay: Perbarisan Hari Kebangsaan, Tamil: தேசிய தின அணிவகுப்பு) is a national ceremony in Singapore that, as its name implies, includes a parade on Singapore's National Day on August 9, in commemoration of Singapore's independence that is usually held at the Padang (1966 - 1974), the National Stadium, various decentalized venues all over Singapore or The Float@Marina Bay.

Some information about singapore
Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a Southeast Asian city-state off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, 137 kilometres (85 mi) north of the equator. An island country made up of 63 islands, it is separated from Malaysia by the Straits of Johor to its north and from Indonesia's Riau Islands by the Singapore Strait to its south. Singapore is highly urbanised but almost half of the country is covered by greenery. More land is being created for development through land reclamation.
Singapore had been a part of various local empires since it was first inhabited in the second century AD. Modern Singapore was founded as a trading post of the East India Company by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819 with permission from the Sultanate of Johor. The British obtained full sovereignty over the island in 1824 and Singapore became one of the British Straits Settlements in 1826. Singapore was occupied by the Japanese in World War II and reverted to British rule after the war. It became internally self-governing in 1959. Singapore united with other former British territories to form Malaysia in 1963 and became a fully independent state two years later after separation from Malaysia. Since then it has had a massive increase in wealth, and is one of the Four Asian Tigers. The economy depends heavily on the industry and service sectors. Singapore is a world leader in several areas: It is the world's fourth-leading financial centre, the world's second-biggest casino gambling market, and the world's third-largest oil refining centre. The port of Singapore is one of the five busiest ports in the world, most notable for being the busiest transshipment port in the world. The country is home to more US dollar millionaire households per capita than any other country. The World Bank notes Singapore as the easiest place in the world to do business. The country has the world's third highest GDP PPP per capita of US$59,936, making Singapore one of the world's wealthiest countries.

In case you were wondering what the title of this shot is about, let me explain...
I must have suffered from an outburst of social connectivity, inflicted upon my wicked self by those 3 loooong weeks of winter vacation that I've been enjoying (today is the last day...noooooooo!), or I just got bored, because I've joined all those famous social networking sites, add me as a contact, you know you want to :))
Check me out on the ever-so-famous Myspace, make me one of your Friensters, get chatty on Twitter, blog with me on Blogger or simply Facebook me :))
So go and waste your Sunday adding me to your friend lists, thanks :))
The National Bus Company took a number of ECW bodied Leyland Olympian coaches for it's busy commuter services into London. The last few had an udpated frontal design which was not exactly an improvement, indeed I thought the first series had a kind of functional elegance to them. The branding on the yellow Bee Line Buzz livery for it's X14 and X15 services as seen here in High Wycombe didn't help make it lovely either.

Processamento Detalhado:
Photomatix 4.0.1:
º As três imagens escolhidas foram processadas no photomatix usando o processo de Tone Mapping no método Details Enhancer.
Photoshop CS5:
º Adobe Câmera Raw ( ACR ) = A imagem processada no photomatix é aberta ACR . Aqui podemos fazer várias correções. Porém, acho que no photoshop temos mais recursos para fazer uma edição mais refinada e especifica na foto. Neste momento, faço correção da lente e redução de aberrações cromáticas ( ferramentas específicas do ACR ).
º Com a imagem aberta no photoshop, a primeira coisa a fazer é identificar os pontos fortes da imagem e selecioná-las utilizando as ferramentas de seleção, para que possamos salvá-las e posteriormente utilizá-las para a criação de grupos de camadas. ( exemplos em outra ocasião );
º Utilizar a ferramenta Shadows & Highlights ( a dica aqui é cria uma cópia da camada original e transformá-la em objeto inteligente. Dessa forma você pode voltar a ferramenta e alterar os valores de acordo com o andamento da edição ( exemplos em outra ocasião );
º Utilizar moderadamente a ferramenta de curvas;
º Utilizei a ferramenta de níveis para levantar os tons claros da água do mar e do céu;
º Adicionei 1 camada de equilíbrio de cores para acertas as cores areia da praia;
º Adicionei 3 camadas de matiz e saturação para acertar a cor do céu ( azul, amarelo e magenta );
ºAdicionei 1 camada de matiz e saturação para diminuir a saturação da cor azul do mar;
º Aumentei a nitidez da imagem utilizando o filtro de nitidez de alta freqüência, porém, utilizei uma mascara de camada para diminuir o efeito de nitidez na água do mar;
º Depois de terminada as alterações desejadas, achatei a imagem e adicionei a moldura e assinatura;
º As cores do logo tipo foram escolhidas mediante a predominância da foto.

The gardens by the bay is closed from 21/11/2011 after the preview till next year june.
This shot was taken from the marina bay sands skypark on 9/8/2011 where you can see most of the area are still under construction. Last week during the preview, half of the park has completed. It will be another great project from marina bay, can't wait to get in there again to get some more pictures.
I got lucky tonight. I was disappointed that it has been raining here and I wouldn't get a chance to take a shot of the "Blue Moon". I would have preferred a shot with a mountain in the background. : )
I took Sadie and Betty out for a night walk in the yard and the clouds parted and the moon was in clear view. I ran inside, grabbed the camera and snapped a shot. Almost as soon as I got the shot, the clouds came and the rain resumed in full force.
I think that this could be a good sign for 2010. : )
And please visit my web site.
Parked inside another now defunct traditional bus garage, is Lancaster City Transport's early Leyland Leopard 103 UTF. Without researching the matter properly, I would say that this would be an L2 chassis type (Pre PSU series) as it's still on eight stud (Tiger Cub wheels) It's body was built not too far away in Blackburn by East Lancs, and still looked pristine when seen here in the early '80's with other later Leopard's for company. When I passed the site of this garage last year, only the grand stone frontage still survived, it's place was about to be taken by... yes you've guessed it, a retail facility.
