In the mid 1970s Edinburgh Corporation Transport 42 (BFS 42L), by chance on service 42, waits at the end of Portobello Road. A short distance to the right and behind the photographer stand the Marine garage and works of the Corporation Transport Department, and almost next door the works of Scottish Omnibuses. Further along the coast, at this time, were stern warning signs advising one against eating the mussels found on the seashore; they were heavily contaminated by Edinburgh's sewage, deposited into the Firth of Forth near this point.
Again behind the photographer, but to the left, stood Portobello Power Station, and Portobello open-air swimming pool, which was famously equipped with a wave machine. My father's generation clearly thought of the pool as a wonderful place, but m y recollections are of how cold the water was.
BFS 42L was converted to open-top in 1989 and ended up running open-top tours in Dublin.

A brief history of the Sotheby’s Auction Tapes: Jimi’s former girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham, put eight reels of tape up for auction at Sotheby’s in London on December 22, 1981. These tapes were of Jimi’s performances at some of the BBC sessions, assorted jams, and “Axis: Bold As Love” rough mixes. The tape sold for 1500 Pounds to American Bob Terry. Bob Terry reported the following songs were on the tapes: Radio One, Spanish Castle Magic, Day Tripper, Get Myself Together(Hear My Train A Comin’), Golden Rose(One Rainy Wish), Call Out My Window(Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window), Wait Until Tomorrow, Castles Made Of Sand, Little One(two versions with Brian Jones), See You Tomorrow(Ain’t No Telling), two instrumentals(Jazz Jimi Jazz & South Saturn Delta), Fucking Around(Have You Ever Been To Electric Ladyland), Playing Over James Brown, Bold As Love, Up From The Skies(two versions), EXP. Other songs have been booted as Sotheby tapes, but are from other sources. (taken from the book Jimi Hendrix: Experience The Music by Belmo and Steve Lovelace)
There have been at least three silver boots containing material from these tapes. Sotheby Auction Tapes (Midnight Beat MBCD 010) has some of these tracks packaged with other material not related to these tapes. Sotheby’s Reels (Gold Standard Tom-800) runs at the incorrect speed and is also mixed with unrelated tracks while Sotheby’s Private Reels (JHR 003/004) contains most of this material but is a 2CD set with quite a few of the tracks duplicated.
The Other Side Of Axis from Godfather is an excellent sounding release which has trimmed off the BBC sessions and offer only the rough alternate mixes from the Axis: Bold As Love sessions. Certainly a wise choice since the BBC material has since been officially released in perfect quality.
1. Jazz Jimi Jazz – An almost 13 minute up tempo jam with a real free form structure that breaks down at around the eight minute mark before changing gears.
2. Electric Ladyland (blues) – Jimi plays about a minute and a half of the familiar melody before turning into a jam. This cuts off abruptly like the tape ran out.
3. She’s So Fine – Alternate lead vocal from Noel Redding, also his songwriting contribution to the Axis LP.
4. Castles Made Of Sand – Alternate mix. This is some of Jimi’s best playing during these sessions.
5. Spanish Castle Magic (instrumental) – A stripped down version with no vocal or overdubs. Great to be able to hear the rhythm tracks exposed like this.
6. South Saturn Delta – An early mix from before the overdubs and horns were added. Classic Mitch Mitchell in this one.
7. Electric Ladyland (drums) – A different run through than track two with the drums very up front in the mix and no bass.
8. Wait Until Tomorrow – Alternate mix, no fade out.
9. Ain’t No Telling – Alternate mix.
10. Little One (take 1) – Instrumental track reported to have Brian Jones on sitar.
11. Little One (take 2) – A second instrumental take that has a slide guitar in place of the lead guitar featured in take 1.
12. Golden Rose – An early mix of what would be re-titled One Rainy Wish for the album.
13. Bold As Love – A raw mix without the overdubs and phasing effects that made this track one of the highlights of the album. This version has a different vocal track.
14. EXP – Alternate mix.
15. Up From The Skies – Alternate mix.
Bonus Tracks: Jimi Hendrix & Love – The Blue Thumb Acetate
Recorded on 8-track at Studio One (aka Studio A), Olympic Sound Studios, Barnes, London, UK – March 17, 1970
16. The Everlasting First (take 16) – A song written by Arthur Lee with lead guitar from Jimi.
17. Easy Rider (take 1) – Jimi trying out new material. A loose attempt at Ezy Rider that breaks down after only a minute where Jimi says “let’s just take this once then we’ll take a break”.
18. Easy Rider (take2) – A slower take than the previous. Jimi is heard saying “How does it go, I forget how it went” before it begins. At only 1:30, this one doesn’t last much longer than the first.
19. Loon – Loose instrumental jam with some interesting playing lasting about 10 minutes.
Once again Godfather fill out their release with bonus tracks further adding to the appeal of The Other Side Of Axis. The bonus tracks sound really good and according to Stuart’s comments, may be the first time on silver disc for these tracks. This comes packaged in a very colorful tri-fold cardboard sleeve including a very nice informative insert for the Jimi Hendrix & Love tracks.

Introdução e Considerações:
A 2º foto desta série foi realizada algumas horas mais cedo em relação à foto ARIE I .: HDR :.O sol ainda estava muito alto e com poucas cores do entardecer. As luzes do sol estavam muito fortes, dificultando a leitura da cena. O certo aqui seria mais 2 exposições para que pudesse aproveitar uma gamma maior de iluminação. Mas...

Particularmente não gostei da foto. Ou melhor dizendo, das cores destas pedras. Acho que teriam que ser um pouco mais saturadas e ter mais contraste. O que vale aqui é a tentativa de acertar as cores das folhas da árvore e do mar...

Photomatix 4.0.1:
º As três imagens escolhidas foram processadas no photomatix usando o processo de Tone Mapping no método Details Enhancer.
Photoshop CS5:
º Adobe Câmera Raw ( ACR ) = A imagem processada no photomatix é aberta ACR . Aqui podemos fazer várias correções. Porém, acho que no photoshop temos mais recursos para fazer uma edição mais refinada e especifica na foto. Neste momento, faço correção da lente e redução de aberrações cromáticas ( ferramentas específicas do ACR ).
º Com a imagem aberta no photoshop, a primeira coisa a fazer é identificar os pontos fortes da imagem e selecioná-las utilizando as ferramentas de seleção, para que possamos salvá-las e posteriormente utilizá-las para a criação de grupos de camadas. ( exemplos em outra ocasião );
º Utilizar a ferramenta Shadows & Highlights;
º Utilizar moderadamente a ferramenta de curvas;
º Adicionei duas camadas de matiz e saturação para acertar a cor da areia da praia ( vermelho e amarelo ) e do céu ( azul e amarelo ).
º Aumentei a nitidez da imagem utilizando o filtro de nitidez de alta freqüência.
º Depois de terminada as alterações desejadas, achatei a imagem e adicionei a moldura e assinatura.
º As cores do logo tipo foram escolhidas mediante a predominância da foto.

Introdução e Considerações:
Então... estou tentando dar as fotos desta série uma tonalidade mais ou menos igual a todas as fotos, sem esquecer é claro, que existem diferenças com o passar da hora e movimentação do sol... mas isso todo mundo sabe. Falo isto, por que essas fotos foram tidas numa tarde muito agradável que tive com meus amigos e quando deu, dei varias fugidinhas para fazer essas fotos. Estou colocando a hora aqui em baixo, nos detalhes da imagem, para que você perceba as diferentes cores e tonalidade do dia. Fui... :)

Nota: 8 - ( caso discorde, dê sua opinião )
Acho que esta foto ficou um pouco melhor que a foto anterior. A composição ajuda um pouco mais e o efeito que a água criou no primeiro plano ficou interessante. As cores da imagem ficam mais harmoniosas. Um ponto de melhoria seria a cor do mar que ficou um pouco escura.

102 UTF is a Setra S415GT-HD C49Ft coach in the fleet of Goodsir & Hughes, Holyhead, Gwynedd. It was new to Pullmanor (Redwing Coaches), Herne Hill, London as BX07 NLD in May 2007. It passed to Goodsir & Hughes in June 2012 and was given its current mark the following month.

The fact is that some suspicious Mormons and possibly some Utes attacked and slaughtered 120 members of a wagon train from Arkansas. The murdered included men women and children. Many children as young as 7 years old were killed. The pioneers tried to defend themselves in a running battle over several days so there are graves including several mass graves all over the area. This monument commemorates the pioneers last stand and the largest grave. Part of the story that precipitated this massacre was the US governments harassment of Brigham Young and his Mormon Church. The Mormons thus suspected every one of being government spies. And so the pioneers died.

Well... Se você observar a descrição da imagem vai ver que esta foto foi feita em novembro de 2011. Uma curiosidade é que aqui em Rio das Ostras nesta época do ano o céu fica carregado de nuvens. Os ventos contribuem para imagens interessantes e ricas em informação. Neste dia o sol resolver se esconder, dando um pouquinho do ar de sua graça. Outro dia vou postar uma foto de um pescador que fiz neste mesmo dia...

Nota: 9 - ( caso discorde, dê sua opinião )
Dei a nota 9 pelo fato de ter conseguido ( na minha opinião ) acertar a cor da espuma e principalmente a cor do por do sol. Não queria que o amarelo do sol ficasse invadido pela cor magenta, coisa normal aqui em Rio das Ostras. O verde do musgo existente na pedra ficou legal... a saturação não ficou exagerado e o brilho dado pela água não ficou apagado devido o tratamento em HDR.

º Depois de terminada as alterações desejadas, achatei a imagem e adicionei a moldura e assinatura;
º As cores do logo tipo foram escolhidas mediante a predominância da foto.

Introdução e Considerações:
Depois de caminhar mais ou menos 30 minutos, cheguei a este lindo lugar chamado de Itapebussus. Por ser um lugar de difícil acesso, poucas pessoas vâo até lá. Há diversas possibilidade de fotos. Está é a primeira da série ARIE! ( área de relevante interesse ecológico ). Se quiser saber mais sobre esta área em Rio das Ostras clique aqui. Este lugar é ótimo para passar um dia de sabado com a família, curtindo o sol encantador desta cidade encantadora... Valeu!!!

A foto no contexto geral está boa. As cores ficaram cativantes. A composição está certinha. Se você prestar bastante atenção na foto, vai ver que tem um plus, uma pessoa saindo da praia. A única observação é a cor do mar próximo à rocha, ficou muito azulada. Más nada que tire ou diminua a pontuação que dei ai em cima. AH!!! não posso esquecer de mencionar que esta foto foi feita na mão, sem tripé. Só por isso vou aumentar a pontuação de 8.5 para 9.

Photomatix 4.0.1:
º As três imagens escolhidas foram processadas no photomatix usando o processo de Tone Mapping no método Details Enhancer.
Photoshop CS5:
º Adobe Câmera Raw ( ACR ) = A imagem processada no photomatix é aberta ACR . Aqui podemos fazer várias correções. Porém, acho que no photoshop temos mais recursos para fazer uma edição mais refinada e especifica na foto. Neste momento, faço correção da lente e redução de aberrações cromáticas ( ferramentas específicas do ACR ).
º Com a imagem aberta no photoshop, a primeira coisa a fazer é identificar os pontos fortes da imagem e selecioná-las utilizando as ferramentas de seleção, para que possamos salvá-las e posteriormente utilizá-las para a criação de grupos de camadas. ( exemplos em outra ocasião );
º Utilizar a ferramenta Shadows & Highlights;
º Utilizar moderadamente a ferramenta de curvas;
º Adicionei duas camadas de matiz e saturação para acertar a cor da areia da praia ( vermelho e amarelo ) e do céu ( azul e amarelo ).
º Aumentei a nitidez da imagem utilizando o filtro de nitidez de alta freqüência.
º Depois de terminada as alterações desejadas, achatei a imagem e adicionei a moldura e assinatura.
º As cores do logo tipo foram escolhidas mediante a predominância da foto.

Pritchard's garage, also known as Central Garage, is located at the corner of Station Crescent and Temple Street. Old signs for Commer, Hillman, Humber and Sunbeam are still in evidence, indicating that this at one time was a Rootes dealership. Various modern petrol pumps are in place, mounted on concrete bases that probably featured classic pumps & globes at one time. Swing out booms deliver the fuel to waiting vehicles.
In the window beneath the Hillman sign is a modern advertisement for Pritchard & Son - Funeral Directors, suggesting that the family name is still involved with this lovely old garage. The frontage of the garage looks much as it must have done way back, and the original old wooden doors are still in use.

Annelies Marie Frank, detta Anne, nome italianizzato in Anna Frank, (Francoforte sul Meno, 12 giugno 1929 – Bergen-Belsen, 31 marzo 1945), è stata una ragazza ebrea tedesca, divenuta un simbolo della Shoah per i suoi diari scritti nel periodo in cui la sua famiglia si nascondeva dai nazisti e per la sua tragica morte nel campo di concentramento di Bergen-Belsen. Visse parte della sua vita ad Amsterdam nei Paesi Bassi, dove la famiglia era riparata dopo l'ascesa al potere dei nazisti in Germania. Fu privata della cittadinanza tedesca nel 1941, divenendo così apolide.
Biografia
Seconda figlia di Otto Heinrich Frank (12 maggio 1889 - 19 agosto 1980) e di sua moglie Edith Hollander, apparteneva ad una famiglia di patrioti tedeschi che prestarono servizio durante la prima guerra mondiale. Aveva una sorella maggiore, Margot Elisabeth Frank (16 febbraio 1926 - 9 marzo 1945). Lei e la famiglia dovettero spostarsi ad Amsterdam nel 1933, quando Adolf Hitler venne nominato Führer, per sfuggire alla persecuzione dei Nazisti.
Il 6 luglio 1942, appena tredicenne, dovette nascondersi con la famiglia nell'Achterhuis, un piccolo spazio a due piani posto sopra i locali della compagnia di Otto chiamata "Gies e co". (Questo Achterhuis era situato in un vecchio - ed abbastanza tipico - edificio sul Canale Prinsengracht, nella parte ovest di Amsterdam, a circa un isolato dalla Westerkerk.[1]) La porta dell'Achterhuis era nascosta dietro una libreria. Vissero lì dal 6 luglio 1942 al 4 agosto 1944, durante l'occupazione nazista. Essi venivano aiutati da persone chiamate Miep Gies, Jan Gies, Johannes Kleiman, Victor Kugler, Bep Voskuilj, il signor Voskuilj e la moglie di Kleiman, che portavano ai clandestini cibo, notizie e oggetti già da tempo nell'alloggio segreto.
Nel nascondiglio trovarono rifugio 8 persone: Otto e Edith Frank (i genitori di Anna); la sorella maggiore Margot; il Signor Dussel, un dentista ebreo (30 aprile 1889 - 20 dicembre 1944) (vero nome, Fritz Pfeffer); e Hermann (31 marzo 1890 - 6 settembre 1944) e Petronella (29 settembre 1900 - 9 aprile 1945) van Daan con il loro figlio Peter (8 novembre 1926 - 5 maggio 1945) (vero cognome, van Pels).
Durante quegli anni Anna scrisse un diario, descrivendo con considerevole talento le paure causate dal vivere in clandestinità, i sentimenti per Peter, i conflitti con i genitori, e la sua aspirazione di diventare scrittrice.
Dopo più di due anni, una donna il 4 agosto 1944 chiamò la Gestapo dicendo che al 263 di Prinsengracht erano nascosti degli ebrei. Si pensa che la spia fosse la donna delle pulizie dell'Opekta di nome Lena Hartog Van Bladeren. Tra i sospettati vi è anche un dipendente di nome Van Mareen. Le due famiglie così vennero arrestate dalla Grüne Polizei e trasferite al campo di smistamento di Westerbork insieme a Kleiman e Kugler, nell'Olanda nord-orientale. Questi ultimi riuscirono poi a fuggire. Il 2 settembre Anna Frank e gli altri clandestini vennero caricati sull'ultimo treno merci in partenza per Auschwitz, dove giunsero tre giorni dopo. Nel frattempo Miep Gies ed Elly Vossen trovarono il diario e lo misero al sicuro.
Anna, Margot ed Edith Frank, i van Pels e Fritz Pfeffer non sopravvissero ai campi di concentramento tedeschi (nel caso di Peter van Pels che morì tre giorni prima della liberazione del campo di Mauthausen, alle marce della morte tra un campo e l'altro). Margot e Anna passarono un mese ad Auschwitz-Birkenau e vennero poi spedite a Bergen-Belsen, dove morirono di tifo esantematico nel marzo 1945,solo tre settimane prima della liberazione del campo. Solo il padre di Anna sopravvisse ai campi di concentramento, quando il 27 gennaio 1945 fu liberato il campo di Auschwitz dai Russi; il 3 giugno 1945 tornò ad Amsterdam dopo tre mesi di viaggio. Miep gli diede il diario, quando Otto scoprì il destino dei clandestini ed egli lo aggiustò per la pubblicazione con il titolo di Het Achterhuis. Otto Frank morì a Basilea, in Svizzera dove viveva sua sorella, il 19 agosto 1980.
Pubblicazione del diario
Inizia come una espressione privata dei propri pensieri intimi, manifestando l'intenzione di non permettere mai che altri ne prendessero visione. Descrive candidamente la sua vita, la propria famiglia ed i propri amici, nonché appunto la sua vocazione a diventare un giorno scrittrice affermata di racconti. Durante l'inverno del 1944, le capitò di ascoltare una trasmissione radio di Gerrit Bolkestein— membro del governo Olandese in esilio — il quale diceva che, una volta terminato il conflitto, avrebbe creato un registro pubblico delle oppressioni sofferte dalla popolazione del Paese sotto l'occupazione nazista. Menzionò la pubblicazione di lettere e diari, cosa che spinse Anna a riscrivere sotto altra forma, e con diversa prospettiva, il proprio.
Esistono quindi tre versioni del diario:
-la versione A, l'originale di Anna, che va dal 12 giugno 1942 al 1 agosto 1944, della quale non è stato ritrovato il quaderno che copriva il periodo 6 dicembre 1942 - 21 dicembre 1943;
-la versione B, la seconda redazione di Anna, su fogli volanti, in vista della pubblicazione, che copre il periodo 20 giugno 1942 - 29 marzo 1944;
-la versione C, scritta da Otto Frank basandosi sulla versione B, apportando modifiche e cancellazioni.
Una recente edizione critica del diario compara queste tre versioni. La casa dove Anna e la famiglia si nascondevano è ora un museo. Si trova al 263 di Prinsengracht, nel centro della città, raggiungibile a piedi dalla stazione centrale, dal palazzo reale e dal Dam.
Nel 1956 il diario venne adattato in un'opera teatrale che vinse il Premio Pulitzer, nel 1959 ne venne tratto un film, nel 1997 ne fu tratta un'opera di Broadway con materiale aggiunto dal diario originale.
I negazionisti della shoah hanno tentato a più riprese di mettere in forse l'autenticità del diario, ma questa è stata provata oltre ogni ragionevole dubbio da Simon Wiesenthal, il quale riuscì persino a ritrovare il poliziotto che aveva eseguito l'arresto.
Nel 2004 nei Paesi Bassi è stato pubblicato un nuovo libro, intitolato Mooie zinnen-boek (libro delle belle frasi). Seguendo il consiglio del padre, Anna copiava brani e brevi poemi che l'avevano colpita in modo particolare, tratti dai molti libri che aveva letto durante la permanenza nell'Achterhuis.

On January 4th I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, spread to my liver. The doctor gave me the prognosis of 6 months without treatment or 12 – 18 months with. I’m currently on chemotherapy. Having a doctor tell you this changes everything. Things that used to be important seem irrelevant now, and the things that I used to take for granted are very significant.
I am so thankful for my faith in God at this time. I’ve had many people tell me over the past few months that they wish they had my faith. I have complete peace because my faith is not in chemotherapy, or in an oncologist, or even in maintaining a positive attitude. My faith is in the Almighty God.
I have learned how important the attributes of God are as revealed in the Bible. First, the Bible says that God is good. Psalm 34:8 says, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Second, that God is all powerful. If God was good, but didn’t have the power to perform his goodness, this attribute would be comforting, but not a real help. Fortunately, dozens of times God is called “Almighty” in the Bible. Jeremiah 32:17 says, “Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.” God not only is good, but he has all the power to show His goodness to us. Although these two attributes are comforting, they are meaningless if God was good and all-powerful a thousand years ago, but He’s changed today. Fortunately, there is another attribute that is a great comfort to me: the fact that God doesn’t change. Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” I can be confident that God is good, and able to do good for me because he is all-powerful, and the same God that had these attributes when the Bible was written is exactly the same today for me. Having an accurate understanding of who God is helps us through difficult times.
God gave me a verse from the Bible back in November, before I even had a diagnosis. Philippians 1:20, “According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” I don’t know what the future holds. If the doctors are right, I may have only until the 4th of July next year before I go out like American Independence Day fireworks. If that’s the case, I am ready, because I know where I’m going. However, because my faith is in the Almighty God and not in medicine or a doctor, I know that I will not die one second before God is finished with me on this earth. Because of this, I am in complete peace. He could heal me. I know that “Christ will be magnified in my body” no matter what. If I live, I have one more day to magnify Christ. If I die, I know that Christ will be magnified.
Do you have the same confidence? You can. I don’t consider myself to be “religious”. I just believe the Bible. It was written over a 1500 year period by 40 human authors of various backgrounds, yet it's unity can only point to the fact that it's real author is God. It's accuracy has been proven through fulfilled prophecies, and present discoveries in archaeology and science have never proved it in error. People have tried to point out contradictions in the Bible only to show their ignorance of it. Others have tried to prove it wrong with extensive study only to become believers.
All religions are basically the same. They all have a list of rules that you need to keep to be acceptable to God. Religion is a to-do list. It’s interesting that even the religions that call themselves “Christian” and say they are based on the Bible and believe in Jesus still have a list of rules. Jesus came to pay for the sins of the whole world. Just before Jesus died, he said “It is finished!” Everything was done. Jesus had paid for everyone’s sin for all time and there is nothing left for us to do but to accept his payment for our sin by faith. If we accept Jesus payment for us, we are acceptable to God. There’s nothing left on the to-do list, it’s completely checked off.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Galatians 2:16 says, “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
Death isn't the end. Jesus says in John 11:25-26, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
We all must be ready for life after death. You're not ready to live until you're ready to die.

going through stuff I haven't posted, the last two hikes we were supposed to go on were cancelled due to rain that never came. Disappointed because the one today was going to be a lot of fun and hopefully make lots of good photo ops. But it's been rescheduled for the end of the month so you'll have to wait for the explanation until then.
Luckily instead me and Jenn hoped the local train to Wakayama City to go see the Death Note movie. It was excellently done and a lot better than I expected, though it opted for a Kill Bill Style split up of the film and the second part doesn't come out until November. I hope it gets a US release, it was really that good. Plus I got to have a beer. Japan is awesome.
Barebones plot, bored god of Death gives supergenius college student a Notebook that allows him to kill anyone whose name and face he knows. Supergenius decides to use this power to start killing off all the high profile criminals (murderers, kidnappers, rapists, corrupt businessmen and politicians, etc) of the world, scanning internet police databases, tv news, for names and pictures. National Japanese Police and FBI are none to happy and bring in this anonymous supergenius dective only known as L to help track him down. Cat and Mouse Super Criminal versus Super Cop game ensues.
Really I hope it gets picked up by an internation distributor.
