I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, and having moved from professional Nikon equipment to consumer bodies and lenses, I travel light less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 22.780+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Seventy six metres at 09:40am on an beautiful summer morning on Friday 16th July 2021, off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

Here we see a juvenile Carrion crow (Corvus corone), the larger of three reared by a resident pair, learning to forage for garden scraps. The juveniles have a more pronounced blueish tinge to their plumage which darkens with maturity. A passerine bird of the family Corvidae and the genus Raven (Higher classification: Corvus), which is native to western Europe and eastern Asia. It can grow to twenty inches in length with a wingspan of up to thirty nine inches.

The common whelk (Buccinum undatum), is a large edible marine gastropod in the family Buccinidae, which thrives in colder sea climates around the globe.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Twenty seven metres at 09:36am on Tuesday 19th May 2015 off the A87 at Sligachan (Gaelic: Sligeachan), a small settlement on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is close to the Cuillin mountains and provides a good viewpoint for seeing the Black Cuillin mountains.

This frame was captured just to the right of the old bridge that straddles the water from Loch Sligachan and was built in the 1820s.

The Eiffel Tower was originally designed by Gustave Eiffel and constructed between 1887-1889 as the entrance to the worlds fair in that year. It is now the worlds most visited paid monument, standing 324 metres tall (1,063ft) with three floors and eight lifts and was the tallest building in the world from 1889 to 1930.

WHITE PASS SNOW PLOUGH TRAIN, SKAGWAY by DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES (Paul Williams)

This photograph was taken at an altitude of Fourteen metres, at 13:11pm on Friday 13th May 2016 off Broadway in the town of Skagway, the 49th State of the United States of America.

This is a snow plough train used on the popular tourist route, the White Pass and Yukon railway. The black blades rotate at speed to push the heavy snow drifts aside.

Skagway is a first class borough in Alaska, United States of America, on the Alaska Panhandle. The port of Skagway is very popular with cruise ships, and although on my visit there were none due in, I was informed that up to five per day can arrive in the high season.

Situated in the City Of Westminster, the Park spans twenty three Hectares and is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London, with a variety of visiting and nesting birds that include Ducks, Canada Geese and Pelicans.

Iris Sibirica (Siberian flag) or the Siberian Iris is rhizomatous herbaceous perennial found in Europe to central Asia, of the family Iridaceae.

This photograph of a Mother Wood Bison (Bison bison athabascae), was taken an altitude of Five hundred and sixty five metres, at 14:09pm on Wednesday May 11th 2016 past Muncho Lake Provincial Partk and heading towards Liard River Hot springs at Mile 475 on the Alazka Highway 97,British Columbia, Canada.

Often referred to incorrectly as Buffalo, the Bull Wood Bison roams the plains along the Alaska Highway, and I was fortunate to have a few encounters with these huge,majestic beauties, having several of the herd pass close by me at one point. These are the largestnative terrestrial Mammals in North America and are commonly regerred to as the American Bison. At six years, a mature Bull can exceed Two metres at the shoulder and weigh 900kgs.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Two hundred and thirty five metres, at 13:50pm on Saturday 18th September 2019 off Ainslie Point Road and Canal Road at the summit of Mount Norman on South Pender Island in British Columbia, Canada.

The summit is nestled within the forrest within the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, and here we have a view out across to North Pender Island, and the Soutrhern Gulf Islands of British Columbia.

Designated as the fortieth national park in 2003 and covering 36 square kilometres (14 sq mi) of area with 16 islands and more than 30 islets, reefs and surrounding waters, it also contains Douglas-fir trees as well as Pacific dogwood, bigleaf maple, red alder and Western red cedar.

Here we see, Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely resonsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. (ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 18.600 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

The Storr (Gaelic: An Stòr), is a rocky hill on the Trotternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye with a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west.The Old Man of Storr rises to 535 metres and is visibile from the main road between Portree and Staffin on the west coast of Skye. Dominating the scene and visible fom many more parts of the islands the Storr is the hill immediately west of the Old Man and rising to 719 metres with xdcramatic cliffs on its eastern flank.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Sixty two metres at 15:56pm on a cold but bright morning on Wednesday 2nd March 2021, of an adult Wood pigeon (Columba palumbus), off Hythe Avenue and Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

Wood pigeons are the largest and most common pigeon in the UK, and forms part of the Dove and pigeon family, genus Columba, family Columbidae. Known locally as the 'Culver' in Southeast England, these game birds are a protected species in abundance with over five and a half breeding pairs in the UK, and can grow to 42cms in length and weigh up to 550g.

Wood pigeon is also eaten regularly in the UK, a meaty bird with a distinctive deep gamey flavour. It is low in fat and high in protein and iron with a delicate texture that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Commercially bought whole Wood pigeons sell from as little as a few pounds each.

Photograph taken at 14:41pm on Monday 9th September 2019 at the Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre, north of the Nk'Mip Winery, in Osoyoos, in one of the most endangered ecosystems in Canada, the northernmost point of the Great American desert.

I was very fortunate to be asked if I wished to watch the rattlesnake eat a mouse by a handler who was incredibly knowledgeable on her subject matter. The snake chose to digest the mouse head last, and after consumption flexed it's jaws to rest them after devouring such large prey. Contrary to popular belief, rattlesnales do not dislocate their jaws to eat large prey.

The Western Rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus) is also known as the northern Pacific rattlesnake and the Pacific rattlesnake and is a venomous pit viper found in North America, British Columbia, Mexico and the United States of America. They can grow to five feet in length but generally are much smaller and threatened by man's incursion into their habitat.

It is worse to be bitten by juveniles which have yet to learn how much venom to administer in a single bite, thus they release all of their venom with obviously dire consequencies for the victim!

People of the Okanagan Nation Alliance live in eight communities in the interior of British Columbia, Canada and Washington, USA and more than four hundred band members work and live on the Osoyoos Indian Reserve in which Nk’mip Desert Cultural Centre is located.

This Two seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of Two metres, at 05:36am on Tuesday 3rd September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, between the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

In the distance we see Mt Baker in Washington State, USA . Known to the Lummi First nation people ( Lhaq'temish) as Kwelshán ('Shooting place' in Nooksack), to the Halkomelem as Kwelxá:lxw, to Lushootseed speakers along the Skagit River as Teqwúbe7 “snow-capped peak'', to the Nooksack language as Kweq’ Smánit (“white mountain'') and also known as Koma Kulshan, (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’), the name for the Middle Fork which originates from the glaciers such as Deming and Thunder on the western slopes, she is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State in the United States, standing 3,286 metres tall and was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.

The name Mount Baker first appeared in print in Captain Vancouver’s 1798 narrative of his voyage around Vancouver Island. Legend has it that his third-lieutenant, Joseph Baker, was the first to spot the mountain while they sailed into Dungeness Bay on April 30th, 1792.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, and having moved from professional Nikon equipment to consumer bodies and lenses, I travel light less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. This photograph was taken at 14:41pm on Monday May 16th 2016 of Bear Glacier, situated on Highway 37A heading in towards the Town of Stewart, and descending towards Strohn Lake along Bear River Pass, Northern British Columbia, Canada.

The area was declared a Provincial park in !998, and the glacier which began receeding in the 1940's, once spaned the lake and met the highway, but is now a shadow of it's former self, partly due to global warming.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty three metres at 10:30am on a showery morning on Monday 10th May 2021, off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

This is a predated shiny blue with brown spots egg from a Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos), a passerine and true Thrush which breeds across the West Palearctic. With a wingspan up to Thirty six centimetres and a length of Twenty three centimetres, Song Thrushes are sadly classified as red conservation status in the United Kingdom.

The likely culprit would be the Magpies, Carrion crows or Jackdaws that patrol the local area.

This photograph was taken an altitude of Six hundred and ninety one metres, at 12:04pm on Saturday May 14th 2016 between Johnsons Crossing and Teslin, on the shoreline of Teslin Lake off the Alaska Highway 1 in Northern British Columbia, Canada.

Teslin Lake has a length of seventy five miles, spaning the border between British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. The name 'Teslin' means 'Long water'.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Zero metres, seated on a fold up camping chair at 12:31pm on Sunday 22nd September 2019 10km West of Victoria off Ocean Boulevard at the Esquimalt Lagoon Migratory Bird Sanctuary at the southern end of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Established in 1931, the 134-hectare sanctuary features a salt water lagoon and supports a host of wading birds from October through May each year.

Here we see a juvenile Lesser black-backed gull (Larus fuscus), a regular visitor to the lagoon with up to eight sub species and smaller than the European Herring gull.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. This is the location where the Alþing (Althing) parliamentary general assembly met between 930 CE and 1798. It has been home to a church for over One thousand years.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty five metres at 10:32pm on Friday 9th November 2018, off Þjóðvegur 1 , the ring road which connects most of the inhabited parts of Iceland, between Hvolsvöllur in the inland swamps of Landeyjar, in the municipality of Rangárþing eystra and Ásólfsskáli in southern Iceland.

The vulcanic rock mountains on this stretch of road are both beautiful and breathtaking, and just ahead of us is Eyjafjallajökull, a volcano on the Eastern Volcanic Zone in southern Iceland which erupted in 2010.

This photograph was taken at an altitude of Five hundred and eighty eight metres, at 08:49am on Thursday 12th May 2016 off Alaska Highway route 97 and the Portage Brule Rapids Ecological Reserve as I crossed over Liard River on my way towards Lower Post in Northern British Columbia, Canada.

This is an adult American Black Bear (Ursus Americanus), a medium sized bear native to North America, and found in abundance in the Yukon territory and Alaska. Black bears have a small tail, up to nine inches long foot length and males can wigh up to 250kgs. On my trip I encountered several bears and, although it is strongly reccommended that you do not leave your vehicle to photograph these beautiful wild animals, needless to say, with care and caution I did just that to capture my photographs.

Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and nine metres at 12:38pm on Wednesday December 22nd 2021 off Church Lane close to Bay Pond in the heart of Godstone, a village and civil parish in the county of Surrey in England.

Local school children had hand painted Christmas decorations and placed them in the trees and on fence panels and hanging branches in the lane leading beside Bay Pond and onwards to St Nicholas Church and St Mary's Chapel. A lovely festive sight on a cold winter afternoon in Godstone.

The Lagoon is one of seven Migratory Bird Sanctuaries in British Columbia, and an important stopover for birds journeying between North and South America. Visitors include geese and Swans, Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons, plus many other species of birds. Here we see a juvenile Ring-billed gull(Larus delawarensis).

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Photograph taken at an altitude of Forty two metres at 14:26pm on Friday 9th November 2018, off þorsmerkurvegurat Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall on the South Coast of Iceland part of the river Seljalandsá with it's origins underneath the glacier Eyjafjallajökull (the Volcano which erupted in 2010).

The waterfall drops two hundred feet and can be viewed from inside and behind with a walkway and legends of elves and treasures in Icelandic culture.

The Black squirrel is a melanistic subgroup of the Eastern Gray Squirrel and Fox Squirrel, having either one of two copies of a mutant pigmentation gene which decides if they are jet black or black-brown in colour.

Predominant in North America until the Sixteenth cenury and the arrival of Europeans, they are small in population and generally liked because of their relative exclusitivity of colour. They have been shown to be closely related to the Fox Squirrel in terms of interbreeding.

Black squirrels are also found in the USA and Great Britain where animals introduced into captivity from Canada, escaped and began breeding.

Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and sixteen metres at 11:30am on Thursday 8th November 2018, off Biskupstungnabraut 35 and Haukadalsvegur F333 at Gesir, a geothermal location where a geyser erupts every eight to ten minutes. The location is in an area formerly known as Hverasandar at the northern edge of the southern lowlands in Haukadalur, Iceland.

The geothermal field has a surface area of around 3 km² and the former spouting Geyser here, named Hvitamelur is dry. To the south are two small spouting Geysers known as Marteinslaug and Gufubadshver, and the current oldest spouting Geyser Northernmost is Geysir itself.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Twenty one metres at 09:49am on Tuesday 19th May 2015 off the A87 at Sligachan (Gaelic: Sligeachan), a small settlement on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is close to the Red and Black Cuillin mountains and provides a good viewpoint for seeing the Black Cuillin mountains in all their glory.

This frame was captured just to the right of the old bridge that straddles the water from Loch Sligachan and was built in the 1820s. Sgurr nan Gillean, (Like the rest of the Cuillin range consiting of Gabbro rock), of the Black Cuillin range is prominent.

This photograph was taken at an altitude of Four hundred and nine metres, at 15:20pm on Tuesday 10th May 2016 between Prophet River and Muskwa off Alaska Highway route 97 in Northern British Columbia, Canada.

This is a juvenile American Black Bear (Ursus Americanus), a medium sized bear native to North America, and found in abundance in the Yukon territory and Alaska. Black bears have a small tail, up to nine inches long foot length and males can wigh up to 250kgs. On my trip I encountered several bears and, although it is strongly reccommended that you do not leave your vehicle to photograph these beautiful wild animals, needless to say, with care and caution I did just that to capture my photographs.

This photograph was taken at an altitude of Six hundred and seventy one metres, at 09:29am on Thursday 12th May 2016 between Liard River and Lower Post off Alaska Highway route 97 in Northern British Columbia, Canada.

This is an adult American Black Bear (Ursus Americanus), a medium sized bear native to North America, and found in abundance in the Yukon territory and Alaska. Black bears have a small tail, up to nine inches long foot length and males can wigh up to 250kgs. On my trip I encountered several bears and, although it is strongly reccommended that you do not leave your vehicle to photograph these beautiful wild animals, needless to say, with care and caution I did just that to capture my photographs.

A thick bank of fog rapidly swept in from the Southern Gulf Islands over the sea and engulfed Island View Beach, located on the Eastern shore of the Saanich Peninsula, near to Victoria and beautiful Sidney by the sea, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Here we stand in Island View Beach Regional Park where Tsawout First Nations people have a community and a government. They are a member of the Sencot'en Alliance and were signatories to the Douglas Treaties in the 1850's, we look over towards Sidney Island.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as companion to my D7200 DX, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Here we see, Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely responsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty four metres at 14:20pm on Friday 24th August 2018, off Pont de l'Archeveche and Quai de Montebello of part of Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, also known as Notre-Dame Cathedral, a Medieval Catholic Cathedrale located on the lle de la Cite in the fourth arrondissement of 75004 Paris, France.

Begun around 1160, the cathedral is regarded as one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, though it was heavily destroyed during the French revolution and subsequently restored during a twenty five year period from 1845. The cathedral is of the Archdiocese of paris. It stands 90 metres tall to the spire, 128 metres in length and 48 metres width. Notre-Dame de Paris was made famous by the Victor Hugo novel published in 1831, 'The hunchback of notre-dame (original French title 'Notre-Dame de Paris or our lady of Paris).

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out.
