I made a simple usb powered fan, it's a fun little project that you can try it yourself.
You need:
a. USB cable.
b. Portable fan (one of those cheap AA battery powered ones).
c. Any sort of base for the fan (in my case I used an old webcam).
Assembly:
a. Cut the usb cable and strip down the wires. You only need the "Red" and "Black" wires.
b. Attach the Red and Black wires to the power ends of the fan's motor.. ( the motor can rotate both ways, blowing air or sucking air, according to how you wire the motor... So make sure it's blowing air on your face not the other direction).
c. Place the motor/fan back into the fan's housing.
d. Mount the fan on the base.

2nd model... It's my HP 4GB USB Pendrive. Not a 100% accurate model. Probably around 75-80% because boolean aren't working as I'd expect it to work. :\
Used a lot of extruding, mirror and some other method to made this. Still basic blinn shader...

Penna usb packard bell
La pennina da 1 GB, risulta essere molto funzionale per la raccolta dei dati, però fin dal suo primo utilizzo mi sono spazientita perchè pensavo non funzionasse. Io cercavo di inserirla di inserirla nel mio portatile con la scritta rivolta verso l’alto…ovviamente non funzionava. Dopo varie prove ho provato a inserirla al contrario…. E magia è stata riconosciuta. Ho anche pensato di essere poco pratica… ma durante le esercitazioni con i colleghi di DACT, tutti inserivano la pennina come in principio ho fatto io. Ho tratto le conclusioni… questo è un oggetto di bad design…
Viene violato il principio di
-affordance: perché pare che venga suggerita la modalità di utilizzo, infatti tutte le persone tendono ad inserirlo nel pc con la scritta Packard Bell verso l’alto; si rendono conto del problema solo quando il computer non riconosce la pennina.
