The cable is permanently attached, which is common, but the white cable has black marks all over it.
Free samples from ADI of their isolated 485 transceiver led to this board. MCU is ATMega8u2 and LUFA provides USB support. The isolated power supply is implemented with a MAX253 and external power transformer. Just a few months later ADI released a series of the same chip with isolated power converter integrated into the chip. :(
