My awesome 1GB Lexar Jumpdrive Sport broke, so I was "forced" to upgrade.
This SanDisk 4GB Micro Cruzer is tiny, lightning fast and has no cap to lose.
It's available for $140 from NewEgg or $150 from Amazon.
It comes with the U3 Launchpad, which is basically a suite of portable applications and sync features that launch by default. I think it's pretty cool, but a lot of people comlpain. Fortunately, U3 has just released their own uninstall app to permanently remove the Launchpad software from your key. Find it here:

A USB cable has two sides. You would assume that if you randomly plugged it in, you would get it right about 50% of the time, right? Well, I swear, for me, the failure rate is much closer to 90%. I don't know how many times I've plugged one in and it doesn't fit, so I turn it over and it still doesn't fit, then I turn it over again and it finally goes in. Definitely one of my great pet peeves.
A colleague accidently snapped the USB part of her USB stick. I sacrificed a spare USB cable and soldered it to the stick. After I pulled the data off the stick, I ran a 7-pass erase and popped it in the bin.
