The Cars Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco
At the end of the 1950s, the car enthusiast Prince Rainier III began collecting old cars. His collection gradually grew over the years as he acquired more and more models, and the garage at the Prince's Palace soon emerged as too small to contain this collection of around a hundred stunning streamlined and sporty cars, from majestic body work to gleaming hoods and regal radiator grills!
In 1993, Prince Rainier III therefore decided to open his precious collection to the public.
Located on the Terrasses de Fontvieille, the exhibition spans 5 000 m2 and is unique in the world, bringing together around a hundred-odd different cars, from a 1903 DE DION BOUTON to the 2013 LOTUS F1 via HISPANO SUIZA, ROLLS ROYCE, LINCOLN, FACEL VEGA, DELAGE, DELAHAYE, PACKARD, HUMBER, NAPIER, FERRARI, MASERATI, LAMBORGHINI, ALFA ROMEO, the LEXUS used for the royal wedding in 2011, and without forgetting the racing cars seen at the Monte Carlo Rally and the Formula 1s from the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Car Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco will host a unique exhibition of Ferrari vehicles from 3 December 2018 to 15 March 2019.
Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1947, in Maranello in Italy, the cars with the prancing horse have left their mark on automobile history on road and circuit. Manufacturer of race and sports cars, Ferrari quickly became an automobile benchmark, both technically and aesthetically.
At this exhibition, unique, around 50 of competition and sport cars, the most iconic of the brand, which built the Ferrari legend and which millions of fans dream about, will be brought together in the Principality for four months.

If you know what's good for you, I highly suggest that you NOT visit the URLs shown in the image.
I am VERY serious about that.
Here's why:
Today, I spent more than 6 hours tracking down and eliminating shopping malware which had suddenly and mysteriously infected my browser - Aurora, by Firefox/Mozilla (AFM), specifically.
Aurora is a type of 'not-ready-for-prime-time' beta type browser. So, in essence, I'm a beta tester. Yeah. The things you don't know about me, eh?
So anyway... I had noticed that some weird shopping bullshit was popping up on many pages, and momentarily attributed it to just more money-grabbing junk from NBC, Comcast and whoever else. But, as I delved further into the matter, I fount this bugger.
What was especially perplexing was that my Flickr log in on AFM wasn't "staying." As well, their Uploadr wasn't operating properly (my log-in credentials were neither "staying"). Consequently, I suspected a log-in or password compromise and changed it. Then, the poo-poo hit the fan.
I could log in from Safari, and the Uploadr accepted the credentials, but wouldn't "stay."
I operate a fairly tight ship when it comes to browsing, network security, connectivity and the like, so this was perplexing.
In the process of correcting the problem, I installed a reputable adware blocking extension, and javascript blocking extension for AFM.
Here's the summary:
Somehow, shopping malware had been installed in Safari and like any good infection, jumped over into AFM. Yeah, diseases do that. Ever heard of chicken pox? How about bubonic plague, HIV or ebola?
Anyway, it was electronic epidemiological sleuthing.
The easy part?
I eliminated the malware in Safari.
The more trying part?
Chasing down the hidden js files.
Kinda' reminds me of a joke a NASA engineer friend had played on me one time about 20+ years ago.
In an email message, he jokingly wrote that some report he ran reported my system was infected. In a state of semi-panicked alert, I immediately ran some software I had specifically for such purpose, and found out there was indeed a minor bug on my system.
Oh yeah... my system then - as it is now - was a Mac.
And I could tell you another related story paralleling with that one!
But I'll save that for another entry.

The French publisher Gustave Pellet, hoping to attract new customers, persuaded Lautrec to make a series of ten prints, plus frontispiece and cover, depicting brothels. Although it was not unusual to see prostitutes pictured in the popular press, Lautrec was the first well-known, successful artist to tackle this subject. The set was a commercial failure when it first appeared, perhaps because the scenes are not erotic. Lautrec had said that "they are women to my liking," and between 1892 and 1895 he often lived in various Parisian brothels for weeks at a time. This allowed him to witness the daily lives of the women, including the intimate acts of sleeping and bathing, and to sense their suffering. The result is that only two of the scenes show prostitutes as desirable temptresses. The remainder depict the mundane routine of the women's private world, their caring for each other, their boredom, and, living on the periphery of society, their sense of isolation. Lautrec did not take a direct moral stand. He portrayed the women sympathetically, restoring to them their humanity. One scene shows Juliette Baron, whose life of vice has led to premature aging, bringing her daughter Paulette breakfast. Other images depict the women at private moments, bathing or combing their hair in natural, relaxed poses, unaware of being observed. The beauty of the drawing and use of color makes this set one of the masterpieces of late nineteenth-century French color lithography.
