These two low flying speedsters (Pacific Black Ducks) were in perfect opposing synchronisation as I managed quite a few shots in a row with one set of wings being up, and the other down. They were really moving too, and I was actually completely shocked and pleased that the camera locked and held focus on them. This lens combination with the extender at a fixed f16 is definitely not an ideal birds in flight set up. The ducks were skimming along the surface of the Murray River in Mannum, South Australia.

Happy Wing Wednesday!

This is for Emmanuelle, who prefers my reflection shots vertical, but I thought I'd try a reverse first! Up and down is a track by John Lee Hooker and is perfect! Because the headland at Whitmore stairs is a similar shape from both sides it took me a while to realise this was inverted!

This mockingbird was at the top of an Electric Pole singing. Every couple minutes it would fly up a few feet and then resume it's position.

Birds puff up their feathers to trap heat next to their body, or to dry out after a bath. They also fluff up their feathers when they are stressed or sick. Or while they are preening. And males may fluff up a bit when they are doing their courtship dancing...This one was seen Early morning on a TV Aerial ..

Looking downstream toward the Black Creek bridge. Finally the weather in southeast Georgia cooled off a bit after weeks with temperatures in the upper 90's. Clouds were rolling in and there was thunder off in the distance but I had just enough time to snap a few shots before I had to head back to my truck.

The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),

oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

When Union Pacific reactivated some of their Centennial fleet during the Summer of 1984, I was only fortunate enough to catch one leading on just three occasions. This was also the only time I witnessed two in the same train!

It was nice of the shop to line them up like that, but they could have made them a bit straighter for me! ;) If I could have reached I would have done it myself... =)
