This photo makes me smile uncontrollably. I love it because I guess I kind of feel like I captured a rare sort of moment; This photo was taken on Las Ramblas in Barcelona, Spain. These school children were on a field trip and were asked to hold onto eachother so that no one would get lost. I think it's cute.

After many years of creating representative pieces and developing technique and personal style, I now find myself uncontrollably delving into the form of conceptual art. I have a passion in responding to current affairs, exploring philosophical ideals and looking deeply into what affects the people of my generation, situation and state of mind. A lot of my pieces have a socio-political comment which often result in ideas that encompass grand proposals and ambitious final idea realisations including installation and performance pieces. I enjoy working with a great attention to detail and like to incorporate subtle, and often ironic statements.
I would say that I am most influenced by events and changes in our modern society and like to work in a relatable format, inspired by artists who reach out to audiences of all ages and backgrounds and break down the idea that art is just for the elite or wealthy. I understand that it is an exciting time for artists and how art is being perceived and I find this as stimulating as the radical changes we are facing such as technological advances, environmental issues and political and spiritual practice.
I feel that, through this course I will be able to refine the way in which I execute my ideas and develop useful skills of articulation and organisation. I'm excited to be surrounded by motivational peers with interests in the same areas as me, but also to engage with and learn from the new and different views of others.
The aim of the garden is to highlight the problem of Overactive Bladder (OAB), which affects over five million adults in the UK. People may suffer silently for many years as they learn to fit their life around OAB, maybe not knowing that help is available.
The colourful maze and paved pathway symbolise uncertainty and the number of different paths that a person with OAB may take. As the focal point of the garden, a five-ton granite sphere sits on a water-cushioned base. Seemingly uncontrollable, like OAB may feel to someone who has the condition, visitors can turn the ball with their own hands and understand what control really means.
Kaes wrapped me up and started attacking. I couldn't stop laughing. There was much drooling, then there was much rejoicing.
Follwed by uncontrollable giggling and obscure references to jokes parodied from the backs of juice boxes.
I really did try with the snowplowing. Anything that keps me from sliding uncontrollably was a good thing.
