The picture has notes. If you can't see them, going to lightbox and back again should do the trick. It's simply a Flickr quirk.
Just look at that tail-wag blur; her tail and her bottom wagging uncontrollably while the other end was fully concentrated on the job in hand. She was so, SO excited! ;-)
Despite her agility, Kitty doesn't seem to be any better at catching squirrels. She saw one race up this tree but by the time she arrived on the scene, the squirrel was already several trees away! ;-)
bark = écorce / aboiement
to bark = aboyer
to bark up the wrong tree = faire fausse route / se tromper
View in lightbox, then zoom in while on full screen (F11), of course!
Take care and many thanks for calling,

While the light tries to make its way
through the menacing dark clouds
swollen with rain ...
The sea waves rise roaring,
shaken by a raging wind ....
Everything seems to be crossed
by uncontrollable and overwhelming forces ...
Mentre la luce tenta di farsi largo
fra le nubi minacciose e gonfie di pioggia ...
Le onde del mare si sollevano ruggenti,
agitate da un vento impetuoso....
Tutto sembra attraversato
da forze incontrollabili e travolgenti ...

In the last couple of weeks wild fires in California have raged uncontrollably destroying many homes and forcing thousand to evacuate. My thoughts go out to all who have been affected, for some who have lost everything, and to the brave firefighters that put themselves in harms way to protect others.

Today is World Encephalitis Day
That's what Encephalitis is, for those who don't already know.
Long before as much information was known on this condition, we as parents experienced it first hand, when our eldest became ill
Unbeknown to us the night before becoming unwell she had experienced uncontrollable shaking, which we now know was rigors. It happens when you have a steep rise in your temperature.
At the time she thought it was just her cold, as she had a sore throat too
The events that followed were an utter parents nightmare.
We saw five doctors before she finally got diagnosed, by which time nothing could be done and we were told it was just a waiting game, to see if she recovered
Months and months went by, most days she slept 24/7
Then after about six months, we saw signs of improvement
The neurologist informed us that something as simple as paracetamol would have helped with the temperature, had we known
We got her back thank god but it robbed her of many of the goals she wanted to achieve
Today she still suffers with extreme tiredness and very similar symptoms to long covid
I've written this, to make others aware, as prior to this happening, I had never heard of Encephalitis. A lot more is known now
I remember the first doctor we spoke to telling us, he was out of his depth knowing what was wrong
With love to my beautiful daughter, we're glad we got you back XX
This is the narrow entry to the harbour in Bauline. Not sure I’d want to be entering or exiting here today. Even standing safely on shore I experienced a few mouthfuls of salt water. I love the ocean…though not tasting it. I love it when she is utterly calm or uncontrollably angry. Whatever the day her beauty is undeniable.

A Green Anole peeks over the edge of a leaf, looking for insects to eat. I spent about two hours with these little lizards in my sister's back yard in Jacksonville, Florida when visiting her in 2019.
Green Anoles average about 4 inches in body size, with their tails extending another 4 inches. While the lizard above appears quite large, it is due to the perspective of my macro lens magnification, and the close proximity of the lens to the animal.
In order to get this close without spooking it and having it scurry away, it required a very patient stalking technique involving slow movement, quiet presence, and muscles in my arms and hands that often quivered uncontrollably due to holding my heavy gear for such extended handheld sessions! Actually surprising that ANY of my images were sharp, lol.

The Leaf With a Mouth Who Laughed at You
You walked in the forest all alone and
fell hard along that brown and green carpet.
And the leaf laughed and giggled
with a frenzy of a tree being tickled.
Were you being followed by a hyena you wondered?
Oh, your ankle and feet were in so much uncontrollable pain!
Still that leaf roared uproariously!
It’s tongue protruded clacking along as it’s
jagged teeth chattered rhythmically
How could nature be so cruel?
Still, it begs the question…
If a leaf laughs in the forest and there’s no one there to hear it…
Is it still having as much fun?

Or unsaid.
Or undecided.
Or undone.
It wasn't a malleable thing, a putty or a clay
It was a shattered thing, a permanent destruction
Felt across the Earth in one single moment
Even if people in other countries didn't understand
Why they suddenly shuddered uncontrollably.

We were moving away from a water body in the Thar desert after a fruitless wait for some birds, when suddenly I noticed something fly off and land on the side of the safari vehicle. I asked the driver to stop, and saw this bright yellow coloured desert locust on the ground.
It was quite cooperative and allowed us some fantastic close ups. Some of us did click him even with their mobile.
They seem beautiful with their bright yellow colours and the pattern on wings,,but under certain conditions, can multiply uncontrollably to millions and destroy crops in vast regions. Hence the caption.
For me, this photo is iconic. I took this photo with a Horizon camera when I broke my ribs. But at the time of the shooting itself, I don’t know anything about broken bones ..
so everything is step by step.
Kazakhs live not only in Kazakhstan. There are more than 100 thousand of them in Mongolia - mainly in the western territories.
This is a photo from the Mongolian Altai - our caravan on the way through the foothills during the filming of a TV documentary.
I mentioned this story on the previous backstage - "Some transfer horses were caught just before the trip and their character is more free.."
www.flickr.com/photos/zoombablog/52250977761/in/dateposted/
The technical point of the shooting was the shooting of material from different distances of the caravan on the route.
Since I had to shoot from a horse, I had to take out and hide the camera while riding a horse. And this is exactly what has never happened to a horse's life!
At some point, the camera strap hit the horse's mane. Without warning, he jumped to the side, he jumped again and again .. Everything lasted for seconds. But Feeling that with each jump of the horse I was moving further and further away from the saddle, I reflexively put the video camera into my bag and hung it up and laid it on the ground at the next jump. This frightened the horse even more - he rushed at full gallop, uncontrollably jumping in all directions ..
did you watch the Rodeo? that day I participated in it. I don't know how long I lasted. I took a course at an equestrian school. But Rodeo is different. I freed my legs from the stirrups and flew out of the saddle into somersaults. If my foot got stuck, I would be finished. If you hit your head on a stone - the end ..
In general, I took this panorama-photo already with broken ribs. But at the time of shooting, I did not know about it yet. I will find out about this in a month or two at an ultrasound scan by a doctor.
But the specifics of documentary filming work is as follows - At the time of filming, you had to quickly get up and catch a fleeing half-wild steppe horse. Catch up with a caravan that has gone beyond the horizon of the mountains, And continue filming.
Thus was born this picture, as well as all subsequent paintings.
Somehow I was hooked by the words of one character Akira Kurosawa. "I have a lot of experience losing battles." This is what I can say about myself.

It is here just off this point that the Irish and Celtic meet together with a vengence when huge storms develop out in the Bay of Biscay caught between the west coast of France and the north coast of Spain. Driving s/e winds push the storms in the direction of the south coast of Ireland where it brings unpredictibly severe gales and violent seas that meet the land here and pound it with an uncontrollable fury.
I got caught in San Sebastien in southern Spain last January by such a storm. I was trying to catch a ferry from Santander to Cork in southern Ireland but all sailings were cancelled because of a storm. I ended up driving north through Spain and France to catch a ferry from Caan to Southampton and then driving to Hollyhead in north Wales to catch the ferry to Dublin. It added a lot of miles and two days and nights travelling. I was glad to get home! Just shows how little control we have over the weather!
Fishing is the main occupation in this area and the little village of Slade with its old pier here on the Hook, is where the fishing boats head out every evening to fish the seas which is something they have done for centuries.
If you go and sit in any of the old pubs around here you will meet old hardy men who spent their lives fishing off this coast and listen to their emotionally filled stories and of the friends and relations they lost to the storms. They talk of the "blue madness" and when you ask them why they risked their lives in such away they will tell you that there was nothing else open to them here apart from immigration and, even today driving out the for 40 miles on the peninsula there isnt much really apart from the deserted ruined houses and the odd holiday cottage. There are very few trees and any that do survive are like grotesque sculptures that have been shaped by the wind which is constantly blowing here. It is a wild but very beautiful place.
Hook is famous for its unique lighthouse and centre and also Loftus Hall, both of which which have created a lot of employment here especially amongst the younger people which means that they dont have to go further afield for employment or risk their lives on the dangerous seas.
" For a lands mans life,
It is alll his own,
He can go or he can stay,
But when the sea it gets in your blood,
Its a call you must obey "
I worked with some young men in Dublin and they came from Killybegs, Co. Donegal. There were 4 of them and they had all been fishermen. They said they gave it up because they had lost too many of their friends through drowning. However, once May came around they all went back to the fishing as they said they missed it and their fellow trawlermen and the friendships and they would do it for the Summer months only.
Such is the madness I suppose!
Ireland is not a great place for sea shantys so this is a song from Grimbsy in Lincolnshire on the Humber estuary, and tells the story of a drowning catastrophe of over 70 souls that occured there in the early 1900`s.
Hope you enjoy the photo and the write up.

I have been feeling a little "blue" this week.
The week started OK with a bank holiday - so relaxing BBQ with some friends (maybe too much sun).
By Tuesday I was shivering and sweating uncontrollably.
Wednesday was worse I felt like cr*p.
But today is a considerable improvement - not perfect but a lot better. Now I don't know what it was but Covid or summer flue don't normally clear up after a couple of days - maybe it was sitting in the sun for hours without a hat.
Blue & Lonesome is the 23rd British and 25th American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones released on 2 December 2016.
Health update, It's Sunday and I still feel like cr*p.
Time to see a doctor this is not just a summer cold
I don't often get emotional about birthdays but this one, 5 years old, was a little different. For the first time in a long time, there is no baby in my house and I admit, I may have had a few teary eyed moments that day.
She is an exceptional little one. She is the kid that dances in the rain. She sings from morning until night. She rallies all the kids in the neighbourhood for fun and game. She tells strangers at the grocery store that she loves them. If anyone is sad, she'll lay her little hand on them and always say, "you are good to love." She is competitive, tells the most terrible jokes, laughs uncontrollably, but darn it, she is also stubborn and challenging. More than anything though, she loves her people dearly and has a heart of gold. People are drawn to her. I understand why...her love and her joy is contagious.
My heart hurts a little as she starts this new stage. I want to protect her so badly but I know I need to let her go and figure it all out. If you encounter her...know she is special and brave, but oh so soft, so handle with care. She is mine. I love her. And she may be 5 and feeling so grown up, but she'll forever be my baby.
(If you ask her, her favourite singer is Freddie Mercury....so for her I'm linking you one of her favourites. Every Sunday as she marches off to Sunday School with my mother my last words to her are always..."NO singing Queen..." youtu.be/04854XqcfCY)
Sorry, mushy mom love and I always have way too many words! :-)
Came across Hope Cove in Devon recently while spending some time walking along the coastal path, it was a very windy day and the waves were crashing aganst this coastal wall, it was so exciting to watch....occaisioally I even had to run away as fast as I could...the possbity of getting caught by the rushing water was met with an uncontrollable desire to laugh...and laugh I did....lots!!!! it's .such fun to be a child!!

On a sleepless night the mind takes an endless stroll along an empty street. Roots burst from the cracks of the concrete, some old, some fresh and some in between. They coil on the side, keeping the mind some company in the recollection of what lies beneath.
The past seems to be the most memorable. Why do you love to visit these times? It is gone forever. There is just no point in losing sleep over something you can never return to or have again. Somehow, the mind and heart can be silly to want to hold on to these. Some unresolved emotions or perhaps allowing the feeling to never fade. The future is the second most visited part of a sleepless mind. But, I don't understand just how does it help thinking of something uncontrollable? Despite the millions of plans made, the accurate calculations, something or the other happens to either make it worst or if you are lucky, much better. That is what we call hope, isn't it?
The present seems to be the least visited thought. Why can't you stop wandering the endless dark street and just get some rest? After all, the present is what matters in this moment. It is what you need to act on without much thought. Maybe trying to sleep is the first step to escape this late night stroll...
Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile
Welland River - The ice here was catching the sunlight just right to bring out what I thought was great colour and texture. I believe this is the kind of shot which is tough to duplicate as its is so dependent on uncontrollable variables. You simply have to be lucky and have a camera at hand. :)
On the southwest end of Zion National Park sits Mount Kinesava, a very colorful example of red rock. This view is from south of the historic ghost town of Grafton, Utah. The town was settled by Mormon's seeking to farm the fertile soil. The plan was actually to grow cotton and compete with the south, but the Virgin river was uncontrollable and occasionally flooded the entire town and valley

In memory of Elizabeth Jean Pruett also known to us as Rottlady. Although Elizabeth had a preference for straight out of the camera photography, she joined a few of us for weeks in a series of on-line meetings to explore the capabilities of Photoshop Elements. During that time, I believe we clicked on every single thing we could find just to see what would happen. Some hilarious moments ensued. The sheep in this image are the very same ones that were cloned by Etva in one of those meetings, cloned and inadvertently pasted onto the head of a priest. We laughed uncontrollably at that happy accident. Elizabeth’s laugh was truly infectious. With this image, I not only remember her love for beautiful sunsets but her great good humor and companionship. I miss you dearly, my friend!

Bill's Rock
Taken along the "Atlantic Way" on the south coast of Achill Island Co. Mayo, Ireland as the sun starts to go down through the clouds and shines beautiful light across the Atlantic Ocean. A magical peaceful moment.
Info
The rocks are an important habitat for wildlife and hosts colonies of puffins (7.1% of the total Irish population), storm petrels, kittiwakes, guillemots and other gulls. A large number of seals also live on the islands. It is now a designated SPA (Special Protection Area). They are 30 metres high and 11 km from Achill.
It gets its name from an unusual source, a Danish sea captain by the name of Mathias De Bille. He was the captain of a Danish Navy frigate called the Bornholm that departed from Copenhagen on 14th December 1781. As the ship rounded Ireland’s north coast on 17th January 1782 a hurricane blew up and drove the Bornholm south along the west coast of Ireland. With its foremast and bowsprit gone the frigate was virtually uncontrollable and but for a tremendous feat of seamanship would have been lost at these rocks and under the treacherous cliffs of Clare Island. Somehow De Bille guided his ship to the relatively calm waters of Melcombe Bay near Newport in Co. Mayo. The weary captain had lost several of his crew during the storm and was horrified to discover that the remaining crew members were now stricken by malignant fever. De Bille also caught the fever himself and was befriended by a local merchant, John McLoughlin, who treated him in his own home. De Bille died there on St. Patrick’s Day 1782. He was buried in Newport with full military honours.
Watch the You Tube Video by Sean Molloy it gives a very rare view of these rocks. The video was taken in the summer of 2018.
“THE WEATHER OF LOVE
Love

At the strangest,
Most unpredictable hour.
This is how love is,
An uncontrollable beast
In the form of a flower.
The sun does not always shine on it.
Nor does the rain always pour on it
Nor should it always get beaten by a storm.
Love does not always emit the sweetest scents,
And sometimes it can sting with its thorns.
Water it.
Give it plenty of sunlight.
Nurture it,
And the flower of love will
Outlive you.
Neglect it or keep dissecting it,
And its petals will quickly curl up and die.
This is how love is,
Perfection is a delusional vision.
So love the person who loves you

Until a few years ago it was known more than anything else by fans of outdoor activities, such as trekking and cycling, due to the many paths that reach the lake and the area's cycle paths, and by ice skaters. If in summer it is a transparent mirror of water, in fact, in winter the lake is covered with a thick blanket of ice on which you can skate. For South Tyroleans it is a bucolic, fairytale-like place, a small corner of paradise.
Lost paradise.
Yes, because today, instead of hikers, buses of screaming tourists disembark who, in an indefinite number, flock to the shores of Lake Braies to take selfies, to queue to rent a wooden boat, to try to take the tour of the lake with stiletto heels...
This delightful mountain lake was hit by the phenomenon of overtoursim, a tourism that has now become uncontrollable. In short, the famous Lake Braies is bursting with tourists.
Life is short.
break the RULES
FORGIVE quickly,
KISS slowly, LOVE truly,
LAUGH uncontrollably,
and NEVER REGRET
anything that made
you SMILE.
