The car accelerates, and it's only a matter of moments before the boy is basked in the piercing gaze of the headlights. Electrical signals race from Jame's brain, sending commands to his hands and feet to stop, to steer away, to do anything. But as in every night before this, his hands and feet do not respond. They aren't his, he has no control over their actions.
From behind a set of eyes which feel alien to him, all he can do is watch in familiar abject horror as the car continues towards the child.

This is my tenth concentration image and it was taken using four different pictures consisting of two pictures of the model, a frame. and then a picture of the background. This picture was edited using a both a Sam Elkins style as well as a slight increase to the color temperature on one side and complete desaturation on the other.. Like the past images, the picture frame transforms the image to mean something, in this case, the image is telling how people often find the worst in themselves and focus on imperfections, which ultimately makes us unhappy.
This fits into the concentration because it uses a picture frame to transform some aspect of the image to bring out a deeper meaning. In this picture, it related to the uncontrollable aspect of life. Like some other images, Reflecting Pool is edited in a darker fashion because it was taken at a time where the sun was low and there was a slight cloud cover.
They married in 1932 and divorced in 1943.
Artist Alleges Drunkenness Against His Wife
RONAL K BENNETT told the judge his wife would be drunk several nights a week
ALLEGATIONS of insobriety were made against his wife, in the Divorce Court last week, by Ronal Kershaw Bennett (33), of 23 Adelaide Street, Bellevue Hill, well-known newspaper artist with Consolidated Press, who declared that Mrs. Bennett developed such a love for liquor that she was seldom sober. His wife Bennett said, was a secret drinker, and used to hide bottles of wine about the house. When he confronted her with these she used to fly into a violent temper. On one occasion, when under the influence, she had smacked his face until she was exhausted. She had once said to him: 'One of these nights I will cut your — — throat while you are asleep Bennett told Mr. Justice Nicholas, when he sought dissolution of his marriage with Florence Elizabeth Bennett (formerly Kegan), 32, on the grounds of habitual drunkenness. Mrs. Bennett did not defend the suit. Relations between himself and his wife were quite happy for some years following their marriage at Randwick Registry Office in January, 1932, Bennett stated. In those early years she did not drink to any extent. "She would take a spot, but did not drink to excess," he added.
IN 1934 she took a position as a traveller for women's underwear and went on various trips to the country. After taking that position she wanted to go away and stay away all the time. She then started to take more drink than was good for her. he said.
In 1937 the Bennetts moved to Bond! Road, Bondi. Mrs. Bennett went away for a trip to the Barrier Reef and when she came back she started to drink fairly heavily. In March, 1939, they removed to Victoria Street, Watson's Bay, and from then on she drank very consistently, Ben nett said. On returning home from work he would find her under the influence from three to five times a week.
He pleaded with her to leave the liquor alone but his appeals were in vain. She became very neglectful of her household duties. Often there would be food left on the stove out. it would be burnt because she was upstairs in a drunken sleep. It they were haying a game of bridge at the house she would excuse herself and get up from the table and come back smelling of drink. Bennett told the judge.
His wife neglected to pay house hold bills and he gave her other money to meet them. She was always making lay-bys for the pur chase of clothes. She would pay a certain amount off them and then let them lapse. If she bought some new clothes and her friends said they did not like them, she would discard them and throw them Into a corner.
With the object of curing her of her insobriety, Bennett said, he took her away for trips to various places, including Kosciusko, Lord Howe Island, and Sussex Inlet, but there would be no improvement when she came back. She told him that if he would buy her a piano she would learn to play it and cut out drinking. He bought her a piano but she never put a finger on it. She was intoxicated practically every night when he arrived home from work.

One night, Bennett continued, he took her to a picture show at Woollahra. During the screening, and again at the interval, she went away to the ladies' room. She smelt very strongly of drink when she returned. When he got home he opened her bag and in it found a bottle of wine, half of which she had consumed at the theatre He poured the remainder down the sink. She lost her temper and hit him.
One night he went into her bed room and found her with a quart bottle of wine. A few nights after wards she got so drunk that she be came uncontrollable and smacked him across the face and started to kick him. He slapped her face. As a result of these happenings he took her to a Macquarie Street doctor.
Bennett said that one night, when his wife had been drinking he went out on to the verandah and found a bottle of wine hidden under a chair. He told her that if she must drink, he would sooner see her do it openly than in secret.
With that, Bennett said, she struck him in the eye and scratched down his face. He left her on the following day, August 10. 1942. Mr. Justice Nicholas stood the case over for evidence on affidavit from the doctor who had seen Mrs. Ben nett.
