First of three type posters with fashion and cosmetics as the theme. This one was inspired by Bickham script, created using eyeshadow pigments. The phrase states: The Surface is Only the Beginning.

When my typography page was completely folded out this was the outcome. I used paint with stencils and pen to create the final outcome.
Restaurant Typography

Silver Spring
Successful: I was particularly drawn to the typography of this restaurant because it balances a sense of importance and also modernity. The big, bold serif words "fire station" are impactful. I think the combination of the fonts used here are successful together. The color choice is very relevant to the concept being conveyed. The "1" in the background is an extra element that adds substance to the logo and serves to create balance by splitting it in half which I think works well.
Typography project... Pearl Jam song: Even Flow is used for all the words and of course Eddie Vedder himself as the subject.

This exhibition — “Republish: Typography As...” is an effort of the team behind Republish to see the typefaces in action, while treading the border of art & design. A variety of notions are investigated through the artworks, such as
[1] the juxtaposition of heritage and contemporary,
[2] the physical materialism of type, and
[3] the collective memory of cultural heritage and artifacts.
