A new day begins at Banff's Two Jack Lake with Mt. Rundle in the distance. Precious moments like this are never forgotten.

Wishing you a wonderful week!

I never posted this shot of Two Jack Lake with Mount Rundle before

The first rays of a new day strike massive Mt. Rundle casting some color on Two Jack Lake. A fine start to a great day in my favorite region.

Massive as in: "Mt. Rundle could actually be considered a small mountain range as the mountain extends for over 12 kilometres (7.5 mi), on the south side of the Trans-Canada Highway eastward from Banff to Canmore with seven distinct peaks along the way."

Thanks for taking a look and for any comments, faves and suggestions!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Smiles galore this dawn as the sun kissed Mt. Rundle in the distance over Two Jack Lake.

I love the benefit we photogs enjoy as we can step right back into the image and savor the moment, the setting, the sounds and smells with the friends we experienced it with, or even when alone. What a great hobby/passion/addiction.

Thanks for taking a look and for any comments, faves and suggestions.

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday and week ahead!

Waiting for the Sun to Rise at Two Jack Lake, Banff...

(No, I don't know him 😌.)

Thank you for your visit! ❤️🌺

A lovely new day arrives with the sun's arrival caressing Mt. Rundle across Two Jack Lake. Another wonderful day in Banff begins.

Thanks for taking a look! Always appreciated.

In Banff, you can't see the sunrise itself (blocked by the mountains); nevertheless, you know the sun is rising!

Thank you for your visit, have a nice day!

As we were enjoying the calmness and quietness of the morning air, a teenage girl was urged by her mother to walk around the lake and out to the trees for a photoshoot. I could feel the tension in the air when all the photogs, including myself, heard their conversation. 😞

Well, all's forgiven when we saw this young lady, wearing a pretty blue and white shawl, knew exactly where to stand and how to pose! 👏

As always, I appreciate your stopping by 💕, and hope you have a nice day ahead! 🌹

Two Jack Lake and Mt. Rundle is just outside the town of Banff, in Alberta, Canada.

It has a campground and a picnic area to enjoy the view.

Morning glory at Banff's Two Jack Lake with the sun's early rays lighting up Mt. Rundle.

Located on the Minnewanka Loop. Two Jack Lake lies between Johnson Lake and the largest man made lake in the park, Minnewanka, It was named after Jack Stanley, who operated a boat concession on lake Minnewanka at one time, and Jack Watters, who worked for the mines in Bankhead, a town which flourished at the base of Cascade Mountain just after the turn of the century. While their precise relationship is uncertain, the pair must have frequented the shore of the waters which were named after them. In any given season, a drive along the loop past Johnson, Two Jack and Lake Minnewanka is sure to make a lasting impression.

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday evening and week ahead!

Mount Rundle is a prominent landmark near Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Sunkissed the mountain seems to wake up from its slumber near Two Jack Lake.

From what I've sadly been told by photog friends who have visited Maligne's lake's iconic Spirit Island those special pines are dying from an onslaught of pine bark beetles. !! Happening in my acreage and they say all the way to the Yukon. Much of the spectacular Icefields Parkway is under assault as well. Damn bugs! What a tragic development for one of the most beloved scenes in North America. Hurts my spirit.

Here's a similar bunch of trees on a small island in Banff's Two Jack Lake. While this is beautiful it doesn't have the magnificent mountain peaks that surround Maligne Lake. Mt. Rundle is to the right but these trees would be single line if trying to get Rundle behind them. And one would have to get wet. I'll try anyway next time.

Thanks for your visit. Always appreciated!

Today is Earth Day!

A new day begins at Banff's Two Jack Lake with Mt. Rundle in the distance.

We photographers have a special connection, respect and love for our planet. It's beauty moves us to explore it, know it and seek to capture it's wonders for others to enjoy and appreciate. This day we give thanks and recognition of the importance of the health and survival of our only home. We must cherish, protect and preserve this special biosphere. Not for us alone, but for future generations.

I remember well when we celebrated the first Earth Day. The year was 1970, the year I graduated from High School. We spent the afternoon outside to attend educational presentations and celebrations. Was wonderful.

The first Earth Day in 1970 inspired the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts.

Thank you for any and all efforts you do to protect and cherish our home.

When I took this photo there was a tour bus that had just arrived... Crowds of eager sightseers speaking in a foreign language were just about to destroy the peace and quietness that I was experiencing. I guess its only fair to share this beautiful spot with others.

Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!

Early morning on the shores of Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park in Alberta. Rundle mountain is reflected in the water.

a trip to Banff is incomplete without a photo of Mount Rundle and the reflection is preferred:)

The sun warms the eastern side of Mt. Rundle and lights up Two Jack Lake.

Thanks for taking a look.

Hope you're enjoying a wonderful Spring weekend.

1 Year Ago the Sky was alive best show ever

Well… here is yet another photo from my recent trip to the Banff National Park… this is a six-image panorama of Mount Rundle at sunrise… as seen from Two Jack Lake.

I suspect that you’re all probably quite sick of seeing this particular view of Mount Rundle on my stream by now!? Well… I promise that this will be the *very* last photo that I’ll post from this sunrise shoot… I can’t promise that I won’t post any more Banff photos… but at least they won’t be images from Two Jack Lake!! LOL!

Nikon D300, Sigma 18-200mm at 32mm, aperture of f16, with a 1/13th second exposure.

Two Jack Lake, in Banff National Park, is located on the Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive. Its flat pebble beach makes launching a kayak or canoe easy. Visible from this beach is a little peninsula with a group of trees and some picnic tables with stunning Mount Rundle as iis backdrop.

Taken a few nights ago...

Who needs sleep? I stayed out until 2am the other night and then worked a total of 15 hours the following morning haha.

All I can say is... "Worth it." I didn't catch too many meteors but I really like this image... Short of the red in the foreground... Someone decided to back in right behind me when my shutter was open...
