I was perched on the icy edge of small island just out from the shore of Two Jack Lake. You could hear the ice cracking and creaking as the lake began to thaw.

Winter at Two Jack Lake in Banff National park. This is a popular location in the park. It is sometimes difficult to be here without competing with a tour bus or two.

28/52: The weekly challenge - Long exposure
Two Jack lake, another beautiful lake in Banff. Less crowded than Lake Louise so made for a much more pleasant experience.
Another image from this iconic spot: Banff's Two Jack Lake with majestic Mt. Rundle in the distance. Easy to see why this is a popular place to stand and click.
A few other shots from this special spot in comments.
Thank you for your visit!
Morning fortune at Banff's Two Jack lake this day. Often sunrises don't pop and glow like we wish after waiting in the dark and cold. Not this morning though. Daybreak developed slowly with lots of clouds over Mt. Rundle. And then the first warm rays of the sun struck. Bingo!
Thanks for taking a look, and for any comments, faves and suggestions!
I took this a few days ago now. I started my day by driving to Banff. First on the list was Two Jack Lake. It yielded me images like this plus some other really cool macro shots.
Storm clouds gather over Mt. Rundle and Two Jack Lake.
Never a bad day when at Banff.
Hope your week is going great!
Your visits, comments and suggestions are much appreciated!

I started the morning at Two Jack Lake with a friend. Even he thought it was weird and random that I wanted to catch sunrise here. I wish I had stayed in Canmore as the sky lit up red for hours haha. This was the most red that I saw from that particular morning.
There is no photographic merit to this photo and I am only adding it because it is a lifer for me. A few juvenile Pacific Loons were migrating through our area so I was very happy to at least see one. It was so windy that I could barely hold my camera still and the loon was bouncing around in the water. I only managed a few shots before he disappeared and it was too windy to wait for him to return. Taken at Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
This gorgeous lake offers visitors opportunities for scenic drives, wildlife viewing, kayaking and even camping.
Located on the Lake Minnewanka loop, it's a perfect place to take a scenic drive around both the turquoise-coloured Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake.

I tried a few different compositions around Two Jack Lake in Banff. It was nearly a perfect morning...
View from Sulphur Mountain overlooking the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course, Bow River, Two Jack Lake, Lake Minnewanka, Mt Girouard, Mt Inglismaldie and Mt Astley.
An early morning capture of Mount Rundle. With the silky smooth water, the reflections were amazing! We had a wonderfully warm day today, but tomorrow will be a totally different story, with predictions of 10cm of snow. That's just way too early :-(
A random stop while in the Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. We had problems getting a pic of the little island as children were walking along a log that went from the main part to the little piece of land. This was a quick moment when they were off.
I will go back one day with much more time!
