On this day the weather was not a factor as this ship arrives to load on iron ore. I was told it takes 12-14 hours to load these 1000 plus feet ships.

 

All the photos in this album were made within the harbor in Two Harbors, MN. My four days here were focused on the happenings there. A neat place for self reflections. :)

It was so windy down on the pier! And typical me, two cameras. One taking the picture and another in my hand.

Always a fun stop on your journey up north. In the current restaurant, there's a little model of the original pie stand, which I remember going to as a kid!

If you are ever NEAR Two Harbors, you HAVE to go to Betty's Pies. They have the best pie and food! So good! Expect to be a bit of wait though. So worth it! I bought the Betty's Pie cookbook so I can make pies on my own. :D

The RR men had to really work for a living. This August 13 day in 2009 it was in the 80's with high humidity and dew points. This volunteer was cooling the brakes with a cold water hose. Imagine the heat and steam!
