I was finally able to get a shot of both shop cats, Jet and Pixel (Pixie), together, and sitting still. This was right after four o'clock bubble time, and they thought I still had the bottle. Fool'd'ya!

Here are some forty photos from today's session, the first proper action shots featuring Aella's litter. Most photos are done with two flashes, but on some one of the flashes didn't fire. That was the one functioning as fill light, so those photos has deeper shadows. On this one both of the flashes fired.

This is from the end of the session where I have let Aella in, giving a different dimension of size and speed to the event. Otherwise she's locked out, since she claiming all the fun for her self.

Is what my pretty CoCo seemed to be thinking..

and no they aren't doing what you think they are doing

although I think Louie (the one on her back) thought they were doing what you

think they are doing. :)

He was only 3 months old at the time and CoCo

had been fixed long ago.

May you have a lovely evening dear friends..

Thanks to Clive Sax for the texture.

They are actually my daughter's cats posing for the shot.

No, I didn't ask Egg and Tux to pose for me.

I forgot to take the fabric thing away after I used it to look the focus. Flippan & Zira seems to have lost their focus.

Strobist info: Key light: bare SB25 1/4 behind the cats. Fill: SB25 1/4 bounced in a white umbrella in front of the cats. Triggered with remotes from Gadget Infinity

Since it's Nessa looking on. it must be Maia that has lift off.

They have become some four moths of age.

Unfortunately not of his own choosing. Ray decided after wolfing his own food down that he would tuck into Kaiser's. Ray's positioning meant that Kaiser couldn't move and so just had to sit sadly watching his food disappear.

PS the vodka is Phill's!

This set is taken with two flashes, one behind and slightly above the kittens and one that is bounced in an umbrella above the kittens. Nither Alzira nor the kittens reacts in any way to the flashes. Since it's such a small area I have to light I can use the flashes on their lowest effect, wich makes them faster and gentler on the batteries.

One of those warm fuzzy shots...

My wife has made a little sweater to Rock so he wont scratch himself into a mess. It works nice and he's awfully cute.

The kittens have become five weeks old. They have started a very active period of their lives.

Kaiser, Ray and Pixie all vie for the basket next to the radiator. Here Kaiser is giving Pixie a smug look whilst she sits and pretends she doesn't care about the silly warm basket anyway.

Health update: At the beginning of the week I had terrible pain in my stomach so had more blood tests. they show my inflammatory markers are slightly elevated so I have to go back for some more. The pain has eased as the week has gone on and I am hoping it will subside completely. I have my sigmoidscopy in a couple of weeks time. In the meantime, I am watching what I eat and am resting at every opportunity.

Happy Furry Friday!

Wishing you all a happy weekend

Our two male cats - Rock Torbellino and Bonkap Mercur

It's been a cold and windy April so far. But today it was worthwhile spending time in the sun.

Rock at front and Bonk behind. They are cousins.

I was looking out of the window for some inspiration for my 365 shot and noticed these 2 cats looking out of their window, they were so still I thought they were not real for a moment..I think they were watching the birds!
