A morning ritual for my cats is sitting at the side door watching the critters on the deck. On this particular morning a black squirrel came up to the window and sat in front of them and stared back. By time I got my camera the squirrel left the window and went back to eating. I so wish I would have been able to capture that moment.

My body is made of boiling water that keeps me from starting storms
These mountains are covered in a powder that keeps me from feeling warm
Keep me alive, make me cold
Carve me up, and I will shine
Thank you for taking the time to view, fave and comment on my images. Stay safe and well.

In this family we take that literacy slogan very seriously.
Here Tessa and Sole are reading their own copy of The Charmed Life of Charlie Critter. It's the third issue, created by our Australian flickr friend Amanda Andrews, about the amazing capers of her cat Charlie Critter and his friends. www.flickr.com/photos/mudmapimages/29966642262/in/contacts/
We can't recommend the series highly enough for both the stories and the photos. All three issues can be purchased at: www.blurb.com/b/7309061-the-charmed-life-of-charlie-critter
We have all been melting with the heatwave we have been having over here in certain parts of the UK. Today I am pleased to say we have a westerly wind which is cooling things down a little.
Kaiser update: After the steroid injection, the vet suggested we try him on steroid tablets. He has been eating and behaving as if nothing is wrong at all. We have another couple of weeks on the steroids and then it's back to the vet's. Not sure what will happen then. But in the meantime life is very much back to normal for our lovely old boy
Benji and Trino. They have some skirmishes but they are good buddies and play together, too.. Here Benji is planning an attack on Trino. In the end, Benji is hanging in the air clutching Trino's neck. Then they both took off doing crazy cat and playing chase around the house. They have fun.

They share even if they don't want to sometimes. I brought this box home for Cassie (in the box) because it was perfect size for little tiny her. And even though Polly (outside the box) wanted in it so bad she let Cassie have her few minutes in the sun. Literally. Happy Caturday!
This was taken with my Sony mobile phone while travelling in Hong Kong. It was next to the entrance to a handcraft shop at the Star Ferry Concourse in Tsim Sha Tsui. The mixed natural and artificial lighting on the brick wall made the mural very realistic, especially the shades and shadows.
"Smiling HeART” is a social enterprise selling handcrafts that made by people in recovery from mental illness, especially the women with depression. It aims to promote social inclusion, and to raise public awareness on mental health. The mural was painted by an unknown artist.
“Smiling HeART” originates from a story of a group of women with emotional distress. They determine to get out of emotional illness and regain confidence through handcrafts creation. This group of ordinary housewives was suffered from depression due to various pressures. Every day, they need to face tremendous emotional distress and deal with endless social discrimination. Surprisingly, handcrafts creation has created a comfort zone for them. During the process of stitching, they not only find their inner peace, but also rebuild their self-confidence.
