President Trump has been using Twitter as his megaphone to bypass the media. Many of his tweets have been offensive, controversial, or untrue. CNN has been keeping a record of "All the President’s tweets."

This image of Boss Tweet was adapted from Thomas Nast's most famous political cartoon titled "The Brains." The complete caption is, "THE 'BRAINS' that achieved the Tammany victory at the Rochester Democratic Convention." The cartoon was published in Harper's Weekly on October 21, 1871. William M. Tweed, aka Boss Tweed, is represented as having a money-bag face. It is available from the Library of Congress.

I originally posted this with the title "Boss Trump, ode to Nast." In March 2016. I later received a suggestion from Brooks Nemacheck to name this "Boss Tweet" and I agreed that was a good idea.

I posted a version of this on Twitter on August 15, 2017.

I just started using Twitter in the last couple of months. I figure my tweets are about as important as this guy’s!

Spent an afternoon at Columbia Bottoms in north St. Louis on a cloudy, windy, grey day to just get out of the house! No human contact but lots of birds. I think these are white-throated swallows but feel free to correct me!

This pretty robin landed right above my head as I was painting clouds into the sky this morning. She told me I was doing a great job and to keep up the good work. :)

Random fact: I don't like black jellybeans. Gah!
