I forgot to post this a couple weeks ago as I was away from a computer, but my good friend Adam Elmakias has a sweet editing tutorial that he's making available for purchase.
There was a special deal on it a couple weeks ago, but at $180 there's no better or cheaper way to quickly learn (video FTW) a new workflow or image processing technique.

A test to see the image degradation due to ISO increment.
Of course for a tutorial.
Look at original size the small violet bead on the left of the black cylinder, to appreciate the effect.
Lens: SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 @ f:8
Light: full sun... and closed shutters.
Have fun trying the same with your own camera.
Ottica: SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 a f:8
Luce: pieno sole... e persiane chiuse.

Need some fun? Try out this tutorial for an origami waterball garland. Not only is it simple enough to do with the little ones, but a fun way to pass some time. All you need is some paper cut into squares, some string (embroidery floss used in the image), and a needle. Get creative with your color choices, types of paper you use, and additions you decide to make to the garland.
I'm on a Photoshop tutorial kick these days! I just loved this one (before and after are posted here) for achieving a vintage effect. The directions were easy to follow and I was very pleased with the final tones.
See veerle.duoh.com/blog/comments/photoshop_vintage_effect/ to try it if you're interested :)
This Pendant is based on Emma Ralph's Clarice beads and Helen Breil's shapes. I love both tutorials.
I need to do something with the inner edge....
These photos are from a tutorial on how to diy a cancan/straw boater hat.
