Hora do medo!

Tutorial for a quick & simple tissue box cover...find it here.

So i'm trying to save up to open my own store again on SL, and i don't want to spend rl money on it.

So i'm wondering if anyone would be interested in some photo editing tutorials. They will be videos, with voice, and as detailed as possible. It will be the entire process of me editing the picture from beginning to end. I have a lot of secrets that i'm willing to share :)

Or i can do specific tutorials for anyone interested, just let me know below if this is a stupid idea or if you'd like to see a tutorial on a specific thing. And if so, what price range should i look at? I don't know what's reasonable.

Or if you want to ask something just IM me in-world <3

(p.s i know i'm not that best at editing, but i can share what i do know. i've done this before on IMVU, but i haven't seen anyone make tutorials for SL.)

Please join me on the blog today as I make up a simple, weighted blanket - commonly used for people with sensory disorders, those on the autism spectrum, and to help treat anxiety conditions.

This version is made in flannel and bound with a 1/4" double-fold binding. It weighs 4 pounds, with 6" channels, and measures approximately 39" by 51".

1. Duplicated color layer, giving me Layer 1

2. Added a channel mixer, set to monochrome set red 60 green 37 blue 22 (but that can change with photo).

3. Used keyboard command Command + e to merge adjustment layer and Layer 1, giving me a black and white above the color.

4. Duplicate the black and white layer (command + j ) and invert it (command + i).

5. Put the inverted layer (Layer 1 copy) in "Linear Dodge" blending mode from the menu on the Layers Pallet. You should now have a white photo.

6. Run gaussian blur on Layer 1 copy, I used 150. This will give you a sketch look.

7. Add a levels adjustment layer and move the left slider until you get a good black.

8. In CS2 select all the layers except the background layer (the color one). In previous versions you'll need to link those layers by click on the little link boxes in the layers pallet. From the fly-out menu on the Layers Pallet choose "New Group from layers..." (in earlier versions it'll say "linked").

9. Add a layer mask to the group (user the layer mask button on the pallet) and from choose Edit > Fill and make it black at about 30 or 40 percent. Also put it in diffuse mode.

10. I flattened the image and from the Filtered menu I added an Angled Stroke with Direction balance set to 50 stroke length 15 sharpness 1. I also add a Texturizer with Canvas texture and set Relief at 5 and scaling at 100%.

FOR WINDOWS: command = conrol

Glass Coloring

9a. Your glass should now be a light blue color. You can change the color of your glass.

9b. Choose the top, "New Layer#3"and in the image click Colors, Hue and Saturation.

9c. For a completely, clear, transparent glass object, move the Saturation bar to the far left, -100, and OK.

9d. For colored glass, play around with your Hue, Lightness, and Saturation levels.

Picture shows a saturation level of -100, for clear glass.

Processing a single image and then blending

This tutorial works well for a single photograph that has been taken and exposed correctly. You can then process the photograph for different areas of the picture and then blend the two pictures. For example we can process a photo for the sky then process it for the foreground and then blend them.

It is important that you don’t crop, rotate or resize the photo until they are blended otherwise you will have different photos and ghosting effects on them.

The following example processing a sky and blending it with a foreground.

1.Open your photo into Photoshop and go to the File menu and do Save As and save the picture as SKY

2.Duplicate your layer

3.Under the layers click on the half black half white circle and click on curves

4.This will now bring up a curves adjustment layer that allows to alter the picture. On the diagonal line click in the middle of it and pull it slowly towards the bottom right hand corner. You will notice a change in the sky. Change the curve until you are happy with how the sky looks. Don’t worry about how the foreground looks at all!

5.Once you are happy with the sky flatten your layers by going to Layer menu and select Flatten Image

6.Save the picture

7.Keep the Sky picture you have just altered open in Photoshop

8.Now open your original picture into Photoshop

9.Once they are both open you want to place the original picture on top of the Sky picture

10.To do this use the select tool from the left hand side tool bar (the select is the arrow too)

11.Now hold down the shift key click on your original image and drag it onto the top of the sky image.

12.If the pictures take up the whole of the screen you can still drag them on top of each other by dragging it into the name of the file at the top of the Photoshop screen and waiting until the other picture appears

13.Holding down the shift key is very important. This will line up the images exactly. If you didn’t hold down they shift key it would drop the photo on top of the other one wherever you let go of it

14.Once they are on top of each other you need to add a mask to your top layer – in this case the original picture

15.Click the square box with the circle in it under the layers to make a mask – this has to be done with the top layer selected – possibly now named as layer 1

16.We are now going to blend the layers very much like we have done with selective colours and the motion blurs but we will use the Gradient tool

17.Select the gradient tool from the tool bar (hovering your mouse over the icons will show you the tool names) or press G on the keyboard to select it

18.Use the Gradient tool to drag a line from the top of the picture to where the sky line ends

19.As the gradient tool is quite soft it will blend the top and bottom of the photo together so you will now have the sky you processed showing through and the nice clear foreground at the bottom

20.Finally flatten your image and save it with a new file name
