On the way to Guelph Lake, this Snapping Turtle was just sitting in the middle of the road. We gently persuaded it to go back into the swamp!
First stop on the Landmark Tour was the Lamberton conservatory in Highland Park. Inside were a nice variety of plants. This guy was sunning himself on a rock.
This big guy was resting on the beach, just like any other sunbather, amidst the crowds on Poipu Beach.

A turtle I found crossing Pughtown Rd. I brought it to where I work at Buttonwood Farm near Kimberton, PA.
This is a series of photos I took of it before I released it in a pond on a farm near where I picked it up a few hours earlier.
Found this shell belonging to Chelodina longicollis, known variously as the Snake-necked Turtle, Eastern Snake-necked Turtle or Common Snake-necked Turtle.
Location was a coastal lake that is closed to the sea most of the time. It's been more than 15 years since it was open briefly to the ocean (only for a couple of days) and that was the first time it's mouth was breached in around 25 years.

I'm annoyed for cutting off the turtle at right in this shot, but I had the camera on superzoom, and I don't have a steady hand. Every sunny day on the I&M, you see thousands of turtles on every available log and rock. If you stop long enough to take pictures, they get spooked and dive into the water.
Most of the shell is gone and the innards are exposed and eroded so you can see the turtle's bones are inside of the matrix...but now sticking outside.
