Most mornings I see a rabbit in the front yard but today there was a turtle. Guess he won the race today.
Blanding's Turtles are considered a "species of concern" in MI. You have to love the character in this guys face.
Tennessee Aquarium. Hatched 21 May from a clutch of eggs laid 2 March. Only one of the ten eggs was viable.
This little guy was possibly the quickest turtle I've seen. He barely paused to let me take a picture of him.

I found this Painted Turtle just north of Seattle, Washington in the middle of a busy street during rush hour. Here he is in the plastic tub that I had in my car. We released him into the wild away from roadways.
