Its late afternoon, the weather is turning, We were out in the Samford Valley with a mate. When this friendly friend popped by to do a bit of munching on grass seed. I think this shot looks pretty dramatic with the beast in front of the clouds. If you think I could have improved this image, let me know your thoughts.
On the 25th February 2021 the 'Dutch Pearl' (2010) turns 'Wavewalker 1' off Dawlish.
Built at the Shipyard Gebr. Kooiman in Zwijndrecht the 'Dutch Pearl' is a 31-metre long double propelled chine strake hull multipurpose tugboat with stern roll and push bow. The vessel has a bollard pull of 46.2 tonnes and can carry out its work well in shallow as well as deep water. The 'Wavewalker 1' is being returned to Newhaven having provided a platform for piling work at Dawlish.

Sitting on the hump-of-hill by the tunnel before making my way into The Boot. Wasn't feeling the crowds that gather further-down closer to this turn... it was asses-and-elbows at the fence. So I went further away and lucked-out with a clean background... no billboards behind :D

Happy Focus Friday! Last friday i was trying to regain some focus lost while away on business. By the end of this week i've found a little..but not quite enough, yet. This is the large photobook of Egypt of which i made mention. I wanted to play with the idea of capturing the movement of flipping pages, but this turned out less dramatic than i would have hoped. The silver lining, however, is how much contrast of focus there was because of the shallow DOF i dialed in. I'm pleased with the overall result, but less so with how it compares with my vision for the shot. Tomorrow's another day, of course.
