Tulipa: - 'Cool Crystal, Queen of Night, Angelique & Mount Tacoma'
The mass of color from tulip fields on Sumas Prairie in Abbotsford demands to be photographed. I wish I had brought the right equipment.
In Sweden, tulips usually bloom in the spring. When they came to the country is uncertain, but documentation credits Olof Rudbeck the Elders with bringing over the seeds and bulbs after a trip to Holland. In 1685 he had 38 different kinds of tulips in his botanical garden in Uppsala, and the bulbs have spread since those day to many locations around the country.

Hollandia ( variedade vermelha )
Woodburn Tulip Festival, Woodburn, Oregon
Well, this is what I got yesterday morning. I was a few minutes late, and the sun peaked it's head up the same exact time I walked into the field. I hurried to find my own spot, and plopped my tripod down without much regard for composition. I just wanted my stunstar and didn't care that there were no clouds.
This is a two exposure blend, one for the sky, and one for the tulips.
