A visit to Penrhyn Castle in Bangor. This enormous 19th-century neo-Norman castle sits between Snowdonia and the Menai Strait.
It's crammed with fascinating items, such as a one-ton slate bed made for Queen Victoria, elaborate carvings, plasterwork and mock-Norman furniture. In addition, it has an outstanding collection of paintings.
The restored kitchens are a delight and the stable block houses a fascinating industrial railway museum, a model railway museum and a superb dolls' museum.
The 24.3 hectares (60 acres) of grounds include parkland, an exotic tree and shrub collection as well as a Victorian walled garden.

Childhood memories. As Fylde's oldest bus in the mid 1980s I followed this bus as it managed to survive until 1996 - twice as long as its two sisters. 77 was then preserved by FTT and regained its original livery in 1998. It was used for a few events but was parked up in 1999 awaiting more substantial repairs. After steady work over five years, a new front end has been fitted and the platform rebuilt. Today was its first day carrying passengers in over 22 years.

Walking up from the Quay to the Mill at Cotehele, we crossed a river and found ourselves in a meadow, filled with wild flowers and spring blossom. We stopped for a chat with a friendly local who pointed out the first wild orchid of the season just coming into flower. This tree blossom caught my eye as we passed by.

The new administration faces profound challenges in antitrust and competition policy. The Bush administration adhered to a minimalist approach based on the "Chicago School" theory that government regulation more often makes mistakes and the self-correction of private markets almost always leads to the best result. The collapse of the U.S. and global economies challenges this fundamental premise on many fronts, not the least of which is antitrust. But it also leads to calls to weaken antitrust standards to sustain distressed industries.
In light of these profound issues, what should the Obama administration's competition policy and antitrust enforcement agenda look like?
Newly confirmed Assistant Attorney General Christine Varney offered her preliminary thoughts on the challenges ahead for and objectives of the new administration in antitrust, followed by a panel of distinguished experts.
