Or should the title be fear? I'm not too sure young Kenny trusts the bird not to eat her!

Walking up from the Quay to the Mill at Cotehele, we crossed a river and found ourselves in a meadow, filled with wild flowers and spring blossom. We stopped for a chat with a friendly local who pointed out the first wild orchid of the season just coming into flower. This tree blossom caught my eye as we passed by.

Bodnant Garden (Welsh: Gardd Bodnant) is a National Trust property near Tal-y-Cafn, Conwy, Wales, overlooking the Conwy Valley towards the Carneddau mountains.

Founded in 1874 and developed by five generations of one family, it was gifted to the National Trust in 1949. The garden spans 80 acres of hillside and includes formal Italianate terraces, informal shrub borders stocked with plants from around the world, The Dell, a gorge garden, a number of notable trees and a waterfall.

Since 2012, new areas have opened including the Winter Garden, Old Park Meadow, Yew Dell and The Far End, a riverside garden. Furnace Wood and Meadow opened in 2017. There are plans to open more new areas, including Heather Hill and Cae Poeth Meadow.

Saint teaching Joyce about trust

Last spring, Emily Zuzik and I spent a few easy hours walking through Brooklyn to shoot street portraits. It was a super session; she got the shots she wanted for her new CD and her web site and her upcoming gig promos, and there was plenty of material left over for future reference.

Emily has moved to L.A. in the time between, and is now pregnant and busy and happy out there. I've been reading her updates on Facebook, and it made me want to dig back into the archives and make up a new shot.

She's already using a variant of this one on her web site, but I like the hint of smile here, and the way she is slightly between expressions.
