Not sure about this one, I've seen so much b&w about recently and felt inspired to give it a go again, I'm never happy with my b&w conversions and always end up going back to colour when I try it these days....It makes me so happy that Griffin enjoy's reading, we had our routine check up at the dentist a few day's back and it's always quite a wait in the waiting room, I said to him why don't you take your psp along and he said he would rather take one of his books (swoon).

A Rattlesnake Saved my Life
In early April of this year I was bitten by a rattlesnake on my left calf and hospitalized for many days. During my recovery in the hospital a CT scan was performed due to complications I had from swelling. The CT scan showed something that was unexpected. I had a cancerous cyst in my left kidney. Two months later, I had my left kidney removed. Had I not been bitten by the rattlesnake, the cancer likely would not have been found until after it had grown and spread to other organs.
I got this tattoo of a rattlesnake on my left calf to honor the snake that saved my life. This was my first (and so far only) tattoo. The tattoo artist was Danial Gagliardi (DGInkTattoo on Instagram).

Calvin Dussart and Charles Myncke are two students of the Mons School of Arts. Their project was born in the drawing workshop of said school in the class of Djos Janssens, who advised and guided them throughout the creation of True Story.
They wondered about the many walled windows the city had and what that meant. Their curiosity gave their imagination free rein. They tried to imagine what was going on behind these walled windows with a wink and a nod through reproductions of Hollywood comic books and movie posters from the fifties.

I have a Flickr friend who is a young mother. She has a beautiful little son. Few days ago I heard a story about them, my friend wrote to me that they had a "little accident". But as I was reading the story I thought it was not a little story, but a very beautiful and touching story. It deserves to be shared with you. [I do it with her consent and permission.]
Few days ago my friend and his little son travelled in a microbus in their city. At their stop they were the last people who wanted to leave the microbus. She got off the vehicle, but his little son was still in the microbus, the mother still held the boy's hand, when the door closed, hitting the mother's arm! The driver was not careful enough! She still held the hand of his son who was crying and very frightened. He is still very young. My friend knew how dangerous this situation is, if the vehicle starts ... I don't want to imagine that... But she did not let go of his little hand!! Never!!
Fortunately, a person outside of the vehicle noticed what happened and told it the driver. At last both of them were free and almost unharmed, except my friend's arm.
Later she was talking with her son about what happened and the boy understood that the driver was not a bad person, but he was not careful enough.
When I asked her to give me permission to publish the story, she added this sentences:
"When Juliancito was inside, I told him, 'Quiet my love.' I did not know what else to say.
He remembers how I was pounding the microbus with my other hand, while I was trying to reassure him."
This little story is like a macro photo for me :) What is macro photography? It's when you notice something small what does not seem to be too interesting at first sight. But when you look into the viewfinder of your camera, you can find something very beautiful what was hidden before.
Like this story: at first it's just a simple story, but when I think about it, it seems to be a wonderful story about the love, what a mother feels about her little son. It is an exceptional example for altruism and unconditional love. She knew the danger very well, but she held the boy's hand. Only a real mother capable of doing it.

A bit of a story to tell about this rock:
A few years ago I came to this desolate waterfall for a mid-ride dip, and I saw that the water was flowing pretty fast, but cockiness in my swimming-ability meant that I got in anyway. My usual diving spot is a rock to the left of this one (the rock I'm standing on in the next photo) slightly to the left of the inundating current as it resurfaces from a 3-meter deep underwater hollow. After diving in, I knew the current was stronger than normal, but continued toward the middle anyway, which is where I was snatched by the torrent and pinned against this rock!
It took me a good five minutes to figure out how I was going to escape this hold mother-nature had me in, but managed to inch myself up as high as I could on this rock, then reach across to a huge rock directly behind me from where I took this shot.
P.S. I saved a drowning child at this same waterfall on April 7, 2013, so I really should have known better!

I started today at 4:40 am. Early even for me.
There's a security detail parked in front of my house. Protecting the tools in a construction build next door. The house was broken into twice in one week. Now a lone Sikh idles in a pickup out front, all night.
At 5:25 am an Uber pulls up and picks up my shitstorm teen children. Takes them to the airport. They are skiing for a week with an aunt and uncle in BC. The Sikh watches them drive past, up the street, into the dark. It's an abnormality. I'm sure he notices.
A 6:05 am I leave. I'm parked behind the security vehicle. We don't make eye contact. We had an awkward run in a couple weeks back. I thought he was breaking-in next door in the dark, I saw his flashlight. I popped over the fence with a shovel. I was being neighbourly, thinking he was a robber. But it was a mixup; an unfortunate first introduction.
I drive to the gym and run my 75th fastest 10km on a treadmill in an empty gym. ( I dont even know what that means, 75th fastest...) Actually the gym is filled with a few sad weird, old dudes, like me. But sadder. They only do weights. It's all pain and no gain. I made that up, running on a machine. It made me laugh a little. Nobody talks, including me.
I'm back home 1 hour and 15 minutes. The sun is just coming up.
