Bored with weeks of frosty mornings and wool sweater dresses, I threw caution into the chilly wind and zipped off in this sleek navy blue sheath today. My heavy coat, tights and suede boots kept me comfy on the bike, despite the shorter hemline and sleeves on this versatile three season dress. How many days until Spring? There's something wonderfully sleepy about downtown Auburn – if you could call it that. This tiny community is mostly just houses on the highway, but also includes the high school for western Kings County. The intersection of Highway 1 and Morden Road is where the heart lies. You can pass it by in seconds, and most do, but I like to sit around and see the twilight world roll on. Here at the top of the T is Burt's Grocery, a convenience store and post office. Across the way is the mechanic, currently Jason's Auto Shop, and towering over everything is the oldest building for miles. Long ago nicknamed "The Little Wren Church", it's an Anglican building from 1790. There's a true timelessness in these parts, some unchanged spirit that lingers on for generations. If you passed through this part of Auburn fifty years ago, it wouldn't seem so unfamiliar to you now. There's nothing like going back in time while staying exactly where you are.

Great to add this true 1st edition MIB sealed Steve Austin figure in my Bionic collection!
The main differences between this one and the later 1st edition figures are the elastic in the sleeves and non-removable left arm compare to the non-elastic sleeves and removable left arm on the later issues.
Among my Steve figures I found three loose ones for this photo session and one more complete with a beaten up box which does not appear in this session. Bit of SMDM Kenner toy history here to note to add more joy in collecting SMDM items.

The lingerie photoshoot for Luscinia and Nephilidae - 2 dressed OOAKS I have been working on for 3 months. I this photoshoot the ladies show their seductive side, but hide their true predatory nature. You can read more about them on the set description.
Luscinia's lingerie set consists of a fierce and kinky mauve leatherette with silver accents: asymmetrical bra with a removable right cup, studded pasty, waist corset, posture collar, garter belt, nude thigh stockings, silk panties and a studded epaulet.
Nephilidae's lingerie is a smoldering sheer black lace with stands of lace snaking around her waist and Japanese glass beads embellishment: bra with removable waist strap, panties, waist corset with removable garter straps, nude thigh high stockings and a feather epaulet.

During my family's vacation to the PNW, we took my daughter to the UDUB campus for a tour of the school. She's reached the age where school shopping is now upon us and UDUB was the first school we visited. I'd heard about the famous cherry trees before, but seeing them in person was really beyond description. I knew I had to try to make an opportunity to return to this spot.
Later that afternoon, I managed to sneak back for some sunset shots of this phenomenal scene. Though it was far more crowded than during my original visit, most of the close patrons, most of which were fellow photog's, were courteous enough to give room to one another. If you follow my work, you've read about my recent experiences with comp-stompers. Not the case here. Everyone was very courteous and seemed to go out of their way to not get in others shots.
At one point I was approached by a group of folks who heard my camera taking multiple exposures, which lead to a good discussion on the benefits and pitfalls of HDR. I love the pay it forward mentality that most of us bring this to this endeavor.

This gravestone - just a few metres from the memorial to Generalleutnant von Holtzendorff and his troops - tells about a young man, killed in the Battle of Jena just right here in 1806 at the age of 33.
August Wilhelm von Bissing´s wife died 52 years later, when she was traveling to Rödigen to the new memorial to her husband, and she was buried here in the former battlefields of Jena.
I always thought tulips were from the Netherlands. That seems not accurate. From ProFlowers.com:
The tulip originated centuries ago in Persia and Turkey, where it played a significant role in the art and culture of the time. Most likely commenting on the Turkish tradition of wearing tulips in one's turban, Europeans mistakenly gave tulips their name, which comes from the Persian word meaning turban. As Europeans began taking to tulips, the flower's popularity spread quickly, particularly in the Netherlands where a phenomenon dubbed tulip mania set in at one point during the 17th century. Tulips became so highly-prized that prices were sent soaring and markets crashing. Tulips are now grown throughout the world, but people still identify cultivated varieties as "Dutch tulips."
The meaning of tulips is generally perfect love. Like many flowers, different colors of tulips also often carry their own significance. Red tulips are most strongly associated with true love.
The Sherwood Forest Faire is a smallish Renaissance Festival about 40 miles SE of Austin. Despite its size, it is a great event - excellent entertainment and a lot of cool people to shoot. These photos are from the last weekend of the 2014 season - it was a great day for the performers and visitors but very bad for photographers - very sunny; lots of harsh shadows and dappled lighting. Despite that, it was a great day - and I can't wait for the 2015 season!

City centre redevelopment around the city end of West Street continues apace.
This building used to house the Sheffield Centre Against Unemployment (now itself unemployed). It's final incarnation was 'Centre For Full Employment.'
It's anyone's guess as to what will land on this site: multistorey apartment block; student accommodation (unlikely as site near city centre where rents/sale price will inevitably be higher); social housing (don't be daft!); affordable housing (again - don't be daft!!); community centre (???? - nah!); bus station - perhaps not; you need lots of buses for that - current experience of Sheffield Interchange after the 'Black November' (in 2015) when the so-called Sheffield Bus Partnership (insert 'Company' after word bus for a truer picture of what SBP really is) ably directed by First and Stagecoach decimated Sheffield Bus Services, especially evening and Sunday services - So sorry, no bus station!
Could be offices I suppose, but there are plenty of empty new and ageing office already in Sheffield.
You choose what it might be!
