A pair of relatively rare GP-40X units were a nice catch this day. Santa Fe had 10 of these, which was the most owned by any railroad, with only 23 built total. On a trivia note, Santa Fe never purchased any GP-40 units, but ended up with a single GP-40 on the roster, picked up from the TP&W. So....including the "X" units, only 11 "GP-40" types ever made it onto Chico's power roster.
