East coast of Canada....

The Most Photographed Barn Bridge in America.

From Don Dellio's classic 1985 novel "White Noise"....

"No one sees the bridge," he said finally.

A long silence followed.

"Once you've seen the Instagrams of the bridge, it becomes impossible to see the bridge."

He fell silent once more. People with phones and cameras left the elevated site, replaced by others.

We're not here to capture an image, we're here to maintain one. Every photograph reinforces the aura. Can you feel it, Jack? An accumulation of nameless energies."

"Being here is a kind of spiritual surrender. We see only what the others see. The thousands who were here in the past, those who will come in the future. We've agreed to be part of a collective perception. It literally colors our vision. A religious experience in a way, like all tourism."

Another silence ensued.

"They are taking pictures of taking pictures," he said.

Historic old buildings in a red bow with the

canal in a super tight water surface....For many Dutch people, Ghent is a nice city to go, close by, lots of culture friendly People and good beer. And not to forget a beautiful old town centre.....

It was almost midnight when suddenly the sun rose again in a bright orange color that illuminated the city in a beautiful glow.

Very early in the morning a walk in nature, the sun

in the sky and enjoy the tranquility.....

On my first night in Lofoten Islands I took a walk, it was very cloudy and windy, it was great to walk and free your head from everyday things.......

Marble Canyon is a section along the canyon of the Colorado River from the Glen Canyon Dam at Lake Powell (Page, Arizona) to the confluence of the Little Colorado River. The Grand Canyon officially begins below this confluence. Near Marble Canyon is the famous Navajo Bridge where US Highway 89A crosses the Colorado River. Travelers will find this route handy for going to and from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and into southern Utah. Marble Canyon is the western boundary of the Navajo Nation.....

With all respect, No Awards, sweepers and post 1 comment

New year and old resolutions. I read a review in Tripadvisor that they tough this path was made by candle light a century ago and that the miners had to stop since they couldn't find a way to go through. The real history is that the path was to close to the river and the high currents kept destroying it, so they made a new one a little bit higher, hehehe, I liked the previous history more.

Quebec, French Québec, city, port, and capital of Quebec province, Canada. One of the oldest cities in Canada—having celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2008—Quebec city has a distinct old-world character and charm. It is the only remaining walled city in North America north of Mexico and was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1985. Among its other distinguishing characteristics are its narrow cobblestone streets, stone buildings, fortifications, and rich French Canadian culture grounded in the French language. The city’s splendid views of the surrounding landscape and unique character were noted as early as 1842 during a visit by Charles Dickens......

Birthplace of the famous Roman emperor Theodosius the Great. With a doubt, the most outstanding feature of the town is its castle, one of the best-preserved in Spain.

The Mudejar castle of Coca is considered to be one of the finest examples of brick military architecture. It was ordered to be built at the end of the 15th century by Archbishop Don Alonso de Fonseca, during the reign of Enrique IV of Castile. It has two areas with a square plan, flanked at the corners by polygonal towers, one of them the Keep. It possesses richly-decorated walls distributed around a large Renaissance courtyard and is surrounded by a deep moat. Also worth a visit are the remains of the wal

The Pointe-au-Père Lighthouse played a primary role in the history of navigation on the St. Lawrence River. The existing lighthouse, built in 1909, is the third to be built on the site and the second tallest in Canada.

Lago di Braies....Italy....

The landscape was again with snow and then with juicy green hills, partly rocky and always varied to see, for a photographer enough to do :)

During my round trip in Norway, I was several times surprised about that wild and beautiful nature.....

Tonight I went to my famous hotspot again, every time different and always nice to do, I hope you like it......

Cows are incredibly curious and such nice animals, I was standing there on the mud flats shooting birds and suddenly these two are standing behind me like: what are you doing there ?

Shortly after, a rain shower erupts......Vlissingen boulevard.....

The last time I stayed in Bruges I did not have the opportunity to do a long exposure of Bruges hotspot. Now I had prepared myself and I was with ten other photographers in the same place that is so famous and welknown in Bruges. But you have to do everything yourself once, because I am happy with this evening recording....enjoy :)

The old town is a pleasure to stroll in, fortunately not full of tourism but where local residents get a lot of pleasure out of it, that it will only stay for a long time to come.....

Every now and then I find a monochrome

wonderful work to do for a change.

And architecture is a good subject for black and white.....

The Guggenheim Museum is often photographed but few from this angle, I hope you like it....

Het Guggenheim Museum wordt vaak gefotografeerd maar weinig vanuit deze hoek, ik hoop dat jullie het mooi vinden....

The first town we visited was Wolfenbuettel, small but a nice place to start your holiday....Wolfenbüttel is smaller than the neighboring cities of Braunschweig and Wolfsburg, but has emerged from the war largely undamaged.

Long live the archive if you want to go back in time and my skils are now a bit better than before, but Cologne remains a beautiful city where I would like to return someday......

*Death — man’s last voyage. For many in India, to be cremated here on the banks of the holy River Ganga (Ganges) is the ultimate step toward eternal peace. The flames never cease. Here, time folds into itself — centuries of ritual, faith, and farewell playing out beside the sacred Ganges. Families bring the bodies of their loved ones to the ghats, knowing that for a brief, sacred moment all barriers dissolve — no caste, no social divisions, only the shared truth of mortality.

The air is thick with incense, woodsmoke, and quiet chants, as each pyre, fed by hand-cut logs ferried in by boat, carries not only a body but a soul toward moksha — liberation from the cycle of rebirth. If cremation on this sacred spot is not possible, they come from far and wide to have the ashes dispersed into the river’s holy waters.

Amid the solemnity, life moves on: priests chant, cows wander, and the river flows on, indifferent yet eternal. Once again in a scene like this, life and death walk side by side, each sustaining the other… This is Benares. This is India.*

The entire coastline in Wales is highly recommended, you can make beautiful hiking trips of several kilometers to your own choice......

A tour through the interior of Bauhaus is definitely worth the effort....

I've often shot this pier, but every time it's a different scene. Hope you like this one.

Day 47 our 366

On my road trip through America, I saw many impressive rock formations and took this picture at one of them.....

Skyline of the Kop van Zuid, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The bridge that crosses the water is named after the harbor and connects with the Katendrecht quarter.....

By the evening in Scheveningen I had a short sunset with beautiful light, and against that cloud cover I thought it was very nice to see.....

Marrakech Riads-Riad Dar Najat& Riad Bab Essauira members of the coolest riads marrakech collection" by black zitoun

“A cool place to stay”

Riad Dar Najat

This Riad is very well located just near the Jemah-El-Fnaa place. It is very well renewed, nicely arranged and very quiet.

The team is nice, very friendly and available : many good tips, friendly discussions and easy laughs ! The breakfasts are also very good.

The team had organized a party for new year's eve, with belly dancers and a Gnawa music band : very cool !

There is also a heated jaccuzi on the roof terrace.

Bierkade.....The Hague 2019

And the New Cathedral of St Mary of the Siege, 16th-18th century, Salamanca (UNESCO World Heritage List, 1988), Castile and Leon, Spain......There was a decent wind and it took me a lot of trouble to keep a good photo.....

Soaring over Victoria Harbour, Rosewood Hong Kong is a new centre of gravity on the Kowloon waterfront; the crown jewel of the Victoria Dockside arts and design district. On passing the gate and traversing the cobblestoned drive, the urban din falls away, revealing lush topiary and a serene forecourt that commands the harbour. A warm welcome heralds a stay of unparalleled comfort and distinctive hospitality.

One of the oldest and best preserved fishing villages of the Lofoten.....also on the list of Unesco World Heritage.....

Not in the mood for a comment? I'm

also happy with a Fave or both :)

Nordland Norway's lots of variety in the weather, here the grass was high and in the distance a house, nice cloudy with a fresh breeze with a beautiful Fjord, who does not like it?
