Perhaps what started the rumor about Trinity Parish being haunted had to do with the sign with its cross, smacking of gothic anti-vampirism, especially with the other cross in the background. There is something eerie about it, and I processed this by how it made me feel when I captured it in passing.
Trinity Parish, like many old churches, has a long history and the entire area of St. Augustine has its battle scars and painful memories of wars, territorial disputes, slavery and even plague. This church and its parishioners bore witness to many of the events, as it was built during slave days, and is right across the street from where slave auctions and whippings were held.
Strangely enough, The cathedral which is close by, doesn't seem to hold the feeling this building does. I've always sensed something that made me uneasy when I walked past it, but even going inside the Catholic cathedral never made me feel the same way. I have never been inside this building, and it is one of the only churches I've ever walked past in my life that made me feel like I wouldn't WANT to go in!

Trinity Church (Orthodox, 1792), Telyadovichy, Kopylsky district, Minsk region, Belarus 2017/ Троицкая церковь, Телядовичы, Беларусь
The Great Gate was built 1490-1530 - before the college existed, and faces Trinity Street. The lower stage here is the earliest part, from around 1490.
Trinity College was founded by Henry VIII in 1546 - and as you see his statue is on the gatehouse. In his right hand he holds a chair leg, rather than a sword. (In a prank in 1983, the chair leg was replaced with a bicycle pump for a short time).

Trinity College (Irish: Coláiste na Tríonóide) is the sole constituent college of the University of Dublin, a research university in Ireland. The college was founded in 1592 as the "mother" of a new university, modelled after the collegiate universities of Oxford and Cambridge, but, unlike these ancient universities, only one college was ever established; as such, the designations "Trinity College" and "University of Dublin" are usually synonymous for practical purposes. It is one of the seven ancient universities of Britain and Ireland, as well as Ireland's oldest university. (Wikipedia)

Holy Trinity Church, Buildwas Shropshire.
There has been a church in Buildwas since medieval times. The present structure was rebuilt in 1720 on the site of the original church and is Grade II listed due to its numerous architectural features, including Gothic styled stained glass windows, a wooden gallery, and a richly carved 17th century pulpit.
What a busy day I had today. I got up at god knows what hour to go for a sunrise shoot in Dalkey . The weather was a bit mad this morning with rain, gale winds and +2C. Trying to balance the tripod with camera was a bit of a challenge, not talking about getting a shot but in the end I got a few great shots that made it worth getting up early on Sunday (& get wet and cold).
In the afternoon I visited the World Press Exhibition in Dublin. The Images are very powerful, breath taking and some of them are very graphic and distressing. I was very emotional … Great work but it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.
The minute we left the exhibition, the heavens opened with strong winds, hectic rain and sleet to top the bad weather & put a damper on our plans for a “sunset and Christmas” town shoot.
Here is the only shot of this evening’s adventure to Dublin
A big thank you to Greg and Aggie for the company. I had a great time.
Trinity Church is a historic parish in the Episcopal Diocese of New York, whose church is located at 89 Broadway opposite Wall Street, in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City. Known for its centuries of history, prominent location, distinguished architecture and bountiful endowment, Trinity's congregation is said to be "high church," its activities based on the traditions of the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion in missionary outreach, and fellowship. In addition to its main church, Trinity parish maintains two chapels: St. Paul's Chapel, and the Chapel of St. Cornelius the Centurion on Governors Island. The Church of the Intercession, the Trinity Chapel Complex and many other of Manhattan's Anglican congregations were once part of Trinity parish. Columbia University was founded on the church's grounds as King's College in 1754. To some, the congregation epitomizes White Anglo-Saxon Protestant culture in the United States.
The current church building is the third to be constructed for the parish, and was designed by Richard Upjohn in the Gothic Revival style.
Trinity's first church was a single-story rectangular structure facing the Hudson River, which was constructed in 1698 and destroyed in the Great New York City Fire of 1776.
The parish's second church was built facing Wall Street and was consecrated in 1790.
The third and current church was erected from 1839 to 1846 and was the tallest building in the United States until 1869, as well as the tallest in New York City until 1890. In 1876–1877 a reredos and altar were erected in memory of William Backhouse Astor Sr., to the designs of architect Frederick Clarke Withers, who extended the rear.

Iron gates at the entrance to Trinity Parish in St. Augustine, Fl. This Episcopal Church was built in 1830 and it is the oldest Protestant church in Florida.
Trinity managed to combine things from my costume collection which I would never have imagined putting together. I love her styling and her artistic imagination.
The church of Sainte-Marie de Léoncel is all that is left of the Cistercian abbey that was founded in this valley of northern Drôme (southeastern France) in 1137. The church was quickly built, as it was consecrated in 1188. However, some remodeling and alterations took place until around 1230. Most of the church is pure Romanesque, but as you will see, the roofing of the nave features a budding form of rib vaulting which announces the age of the Gothic.
The abbey was ravaged during the Hundred Years War; only the church was left standing. The cloister and other abbey buildings were never rebuilt. Monastic life endured (albeit down to a substantially degraded degree) until the French Revolution, when the church became parochial —hence the opening of a door in the western façade, and the walling up of some lateral doors. Since 1974, a community of Dominican sisters has taken over what is left of the abbey and thus monastic life has begun anew.
This is the “Head of Christ” part of the church, the apse where the sisters sit during Mass. Three windows (of which you can only see two), as usual with Cistercians, as they symbolize the Holy Trinity.
You can also forge your own opinion about the quality of the masonry and stereotomy, in this part of the church which was treated with most care: it is very good, as good or better than most churches, but somewhat lacking by Cistercian standards. The intent is obviously there, but the skill lacked.
I drive by this church on my way to Grand Marais and have never stopped but always say I should stop there. This day I stopped, I was taking photos outside the church but not getting anything great due to the time of day and shadows. As I was going back to my vehicle someone called out and invited me into the church to take photos. It was Pastor Garey, she led me into the church and allowed me to take photos. It was such a nice thing to do and in this day and age you just don't expect it. What a beautiful church on the inside and outside.
