These three images were taken in very low light under my desk between my legs with a Fuji 23mm f/1.4 lens. I did very little LR exposure correction on them.
so I tried the off camera flash with the Phottix remote trigger/receiver. It only works in manual. Flash was set at 1/8th power, the camera in manual mode, ISO 100, F7.1 and exposure at 1/50. For post, i made a duplicate layer and applied 25% Gaussian Blur on it, layer opacity at about 85%. On the mask, erased the parts i wanted unblurred. Sharpened a little bit. also applied levels adjustments on another duplicate layer. I prefer to have separate layers for different actions so i can turn off some and see the effect. I LOVE photoshop!

The Pocketwizard II+ model has a utility to allow each device to act as both transmitter and receiver. With a set of at least three wizards, this allows you to both trigger your camera remotely, and also to then trigger flashes in sync with your camera shutter.
To do this you need a cord that attaches the on-camera wizard to the camera trigger port, completing the afferent loop of the circuit. For most Canon cameras this is the N3 connector port. Shown here is my homemade pretrigger cable, made from an old RS80-N3 remote release and a few Radioshack parts.
So, one PW is in your hand, away from the camera (not shown). The second is on the hotshoe, with the above cord attaching the second PW to the N3 port. The third PW (not shown) is attached to your remote flash, set at one channel higher than the other two.

Novus is a small, isolationist island nation with very few dealing with the outside world. Consequentially, it is not a very wealthy country. However, it is extremely territorial and allows almost no outsiders inside and severely restricts international travel for its own citizens. This has lead to a very secretive, xenophobic foreign policy, which is reflected in their Aerial Police Force. The entire Novulan Navy is composed of only one ship type, the Trigger class. The designer of this airship is unknown, as is the true number of them built.
The Trigger class is built around a Heavy Railgun, which gives these small ships a huge advantage in firepower over other ships in their weight class. The Trigger is also very fast and nimble, however its engines cannot power both the propellers and the railgun at the same time. Additionally, the secondary weaponry of this ship is extremely lacking. With only three light cannons and six float mine launchers, this ship is not as well-armed as most military ships, excluding its main armament. Its armor is slightly above average for a destroyer, mostly around its railgun mountings to reduce chances of a critical hit.
The entire purpose of these ships is simply to make it unprofitable for outside nations to launch an attack on Novus, while also keeping a tight grip on air travel in and especially out of the island. Swarms of these ships could theoretically be defeated by an enemy fleet, but their railguns would cause so much damage that the effort would hardly be worth it to rule over such a poor nation. Secondly, the cheapness of these ships mean many can patrol Novulan airspace and intercept ships and be able to destroy them quickly.
With the Trigger-class, Novus has secured its borders, but its people grow restless and frustrated of their poverty and oppression. Many believe an uprising is inevitable, with the only real question beingwhich side foreign powers would support.
Big aromas of ripe plum and dark cherry have a meaty, masculine quality that drives the profile. The palate keeps
pace, marrying heady fruit with good structure, chewy tannins and a clean finish. Pair this wine with equally
unctuous dishes, such as grilled or roasted meats accented with your own flair of spices and side dishes. ~ www.starkravingwines.com/sites/default/files/Stark%20Ravi...

One of the frustration thing of using radio triggers is lacking of focus assist in dark environment. To "celebrate" the expiration on warranty of the ST-E2, I add a sync port to use the eBay trigger with it.
Beside focus aid, one of the advantage of this set up is to able to use the Canon EX Speedlites (in ETTL or manual mode) with other manual flash/strobe that connected to the RF receivers at the same time, without any sync problems.

Slender-calyxed Trigger Plant
These beautiful Stylidium are flowering currently.
While photographing these plants I moved in to take a photo of an individual flower and capture the details of the centre of the flower. As I moved in a Bee fly, Lambkinomyia sp. landed on the flower, pushed its proboscis into the throat of the flower, receiving a pollen pat on the back! It fed for a short time, then moved out from under the column and flew away with extra green pollen.
The Bee fly had previously visited another flower and had pollen on it's thorax. By being hit again, means that the pollen can be shifted from one flower to another.
