The fishermen at Hout Bay, Cape Town, do this trick for money were they get the harbour seals to jump out of the water to grab a chunk of fish from their mouths.
It was easy to take pictures of Trick or Treaters this Halloween because the ending of Daylight Saving Time was pushed back a week later. Doesn't that house look like the classic Haunted House? Taken in Romeo Michigan.
Tonight was our town’s trick or treat night. We never got many kids in Pittsburgh because of the hill we lived on. Here… it’s so flat here. Even in the rain and colder temperatures we had so many kids. We got too meet so many of our neighbors we hadn’t yet and it really made us feel even more settled in the neighborhood. The outside cats came and went, the rain did too. We listened to the score from Friday the 13th Part III on cassette tape on our stereo. It felt so much more like the Halloween I love and remember from years ago. A really nice end to a gloomy autumnal day.

I broke my Halloween Candy rule this year. I always buy candy I don't like, so I don't eat it. But... but... the 100GRAND candy bars were calling to me at the grocery store the other day! I don't see them in the store very often, and being one of my favs... I brought home a bag. Just one bag, though! Hopefully there will be some left for Trick or Treat night... lol! I like the KitKat and M&M's too... but can usually ignore them.
By the way, the adorable little orange bear in the sparkly witches costume was my Mom's favorite Halloween companion. I bought him for her a few years ago, and we always had to bring him out to guard the candy. So, this year, he is guarding my candy... I think... hey, wait... it looks more like he's getting ready to grab one of those 100GRANDS!

I'd always thought these dragonflies were impressive - but seeing the hundreds of them we did in Cape May ... well, I can only think even more so. Their colors are brilliant and catch your eye whenever they're around - and at Higbee Beach, Cape May Meadows and everywhere else we went, these were almost always around.

On the lawns near the the Eiffel Tower, young people gather to hang out, sing, practice soccer tricks, drink beer, and socialize.
I found this part of a nut or something outside..and I thought it looked just like a face..so I put it on one of my little Kit Lane critters...for a Halloween mask.
I was puzzled by the unfamiliar architectural shapes in these flowerheads. It wasn't too much of an inspired leap to realise that they were plain, common Lantana blooms. Each of these little "hammer" shapes was an un-opened four-petal flower. The outer circle of buds open first and the process repeats into the central pink cluster.
I thought the shadow was interesting. Small things/small minds.
