Triangle opening screen, is like the diamond opening screen, with an extra straight wire in between every crimped wire which forms the triangle openings on the screen. It is designed to replace traditional fine mesh to better reduce blinding. The triangle structure also reinforce the screen for high impact and heavy load screening.

We went to this little all-night Chinese snacky place in the Sunset with a director that Ean's working with for a film, and Ean ordered this spam sandwich - the waitress said "oh, okay, but just so you know, it won't look like the picture, it won't be in triangles, it'll be in rectangles"
Ean says "uh, whaddaya mean?"
she hastily draws a picture on her notepad of a rectangle. Ean asks if it's cut in half, and she says yes, and draws a lengthwise line through the rectangle... so Ean pulls out his pen and draws a second rectangle, and says, "you know, you can make that same sandwich into two triangles" and draws the diagonal line to show her how.
She is amazed.
So, with a smirk, Ean asks her if she thinks they can make his sandwich into triangles, she says she'll see what she can do, but she's not sure they can do it.
Ean says please and tells her it just tastes better that way, probably because it's pointier. She is amazed, once again.
As you can see... he got his triangles. *giggle*
I was not able get the hex grid just by using the geometric rules. It was not accurate. The lines became curves (:?) So I decided to let the computer do the work for me. Generated the grid using the GIMP.
It's 300dpi A4 size image. (Flickr re-sized it for me.)

Singapore's performing arts venue. The glass roof is covered with triangular shades. From above some say it looks like eyes of a fly or a local spiky fruit durian.
