The funny thing is ... Ginny and I both made basically the same snack ... just using different cheeses. We had never discussed these triangles so it was a pretty strange coincidence. I wrote a Processing applet to recursively cut the image into progressively smaller triangles until either the triangles were tiny or the color variation in the triangle was below a chosen threshold.
This example uses fairly uniform triangle shapes, and no borders (i.e. the entire triangle, including edges, is all the same color).

I call this the triangle building because the footprint is essentially triangular, except one corner is lopped off. But this shows how the planter has embellished the building. I decided on creeping fig, with monkey grass in front, and those common ferns in the large round planters. At one time I had ironplant instead of monkey grass, but it never seemed to get started, but there's a few shoots still surviving, and I'm just letting them grow for now. The creeping fig shields the cinder blocks from the brutal summertime sun, and it takes a lot less energy to keep the interior cool. It's not rocket science...you can feel the interior walls with your hand and they are much warmer in the areas where the creeping fig has not yet covered. 2-15-2007

The Great Dodecahedron is the 2nd stellation of the regular dodecahedron. It has 12 intersecting pentagons as faces. Made from 30 pieces, each from a 3 by 2 rectangle which approximates the required geometry sufficiently.
This is a headshot with triangle lighting, which means there is a backlight behind the subject, a key light and a fill light. The three of these together produce a well-lit shot.
