Thinking about this week's Crazy Tuesday theme of "Trees and Leaves"and while our trees are just getting underway, the leaves seem to be turning brown and dropping at the same time. The jury's still out on a nice colorful Fall but we'll see in the upcoming days/weeks. I love the look of the hickory tree with it's compound leaf but I've already posted one of the leaflets so I needed something a bit different. I looked around the yard and this one grouping caught my eye. A hickory leaf with 3 leaflets, all brown but loaded with character (IMO), I knew it would be all about the lighting and this has a main light to the left and above camera, additional fill to the right and a bit from the back-top for a hair light. The grouping measures about 5 in. tall X 4 in. wide X 2 in. deep. I was hoping for a B&W conversion but the brown color won out in the end.

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and we have another awesome theme at Looking close on Friday: a single leaf.
I have the hardest time to pick up leaves for my pictures. I always try to find the perfect, most beautiful and colorful leaf there is. So I end up, walking with leaves in my pockets (of course, whenever I decide to pick up some leaves I always forgot to take a bag or something to put my leaves in…) and trying to find another one, and another one …. People in my neighborhood know me as crazy leaf lady (or crazy Flower thief for those closer to me LOL). Of course, I put all my leaves between pages of my books to dry…This way I always have some awesome props to photograph.

Ince Blundell Hall. I'm sure there was a window top right when I was last here, but that's Virginia Creeper for you. Leaves not at their best but still turning colour.

Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesday is trees and leaves. And of course, we have Mr. Teddy bear with us to celebrate Happy Teddy Bear Tuesdays.
I don’t know if you knew that but Mr. Teddy Bear was born in a forest. Yes, my friends, he seems very, very civilized and humane like but his extraordinary life began in the middle of a beautiful and wild forest. Trees, leaves, animals and nature are his most cherished childhood memories. After few years of living in a forest among trees, Mr. Teddy bear decided to join a Russian circus and the rest of his life is history. Today, Mr. Teddy bear lives with us and acts like us (well maybe a little bit better than some of us). His mother always told him that « in Rome do as Romans » and that is his motto. But, sometimes, when he is alone, unable to sleep, he can almost hear the beloved trees from his home forest…And that is why, he loves the trees in his garden. As you can see, he has a very mixed taste in trees that is why you can see a palm tree near a pine tree in his collection. He loves spending time in his tiny improvised forest. And so do I but unfortunately I have a video meeting this morning so I only have time to grab a coffee !!

Oklahoma fall you have to grab what you can grab, there is not huge splashes of maple color, just tiny dribbles here and there. Some Trees and Leaves in October in northeast Oklahoma.
For a change, I come up with a Lemon Tree, but ....
Grrr .... these lemons are pretty sour, so I need an extra jar of HONEY, do you agree ???

Leaves taken against the evening sun ... it might look like a multiple exposure, but it's actually only one single image.
Sadly not much autumn colours here yet, so I experimented a bit with sunlight : )
