There is just something so beautiful about this Tree! Can you imagine what it has been through?? What it has had to endure through its lifetime and yet this tree still shares its beauty with us. Some people see a dead tree but I see the elegance, the beauty, the perseverance as it takes on a new day at the Colorado National Monument

I thought I would try a portrait version of the tree giving a more detailed view. I liked the extra foreground detail with the nettles to give a bit of texture.

Crisp and frozen tree tops. I’ve resolved to buy some gloves. It’s beautiful out but my fingers are so cold I can hardly work the camera.

Since I need some winter images for a proper photo calendar i looked for something worth capturing during those days when we had at least a little bit of snow.

Actually the amount of snow we had wasn’t even enough to cover the grass on this hill, so I cloned out hundreds of grass blades, which was great fun.

Not.

If you are into counting, you are welcome to check my assertion based on the original image:

little X-mas angel from Peru. Hoping for a 2021 without Covid-19.

This image generated in PS CC using render trees and flame on various layers. Then with an oil painting finish. No photographs were used in its construction.

And a nod to my Flickr friend JH from whom I took some inspiration with his recent photo "Behind the tree line"

I’m thinking this tree may very well be in its third century. Imagine if it had a brain and could see and hear what goes on. Think of all the scenes, the people and animals, the drama, just the everyday life it’s silently witnessed!

Coucher de soleil sur Puycelsi.

I know I already posted this some years ago but I just like this group of pine trees and had to take a new photo when we came along there again.
